Howell's Nursery

I've now had two daughters start from Howell's Nursery. Youngest being in nursery currently and I cannot recommend enough. It's the absolute best start I could ask for. The Nursery teachers are amazing and they do so much with the girls. The manager and the lovely assistants care for all of them as if they're their own. The constant photo updates on activities etc is so lovely to see as well. From Nursery on, both of my girls preferred to be at school. There have been a few times we had opportunities to move closer to family but the only thing that stopped us was how much our girls loved Howell's, so we stayed! Howells Nursery/prep school is simply the best.

I can honestly say that Howells Nursery has exceeded every expectation we had! It is a warm, nurturing, and caring environment.

The staff are truly exceptional. Every member of the team is kind, approachable, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. They take the time to really get to know every girl, understanding their personalities, interests, strengths, and individual needs. As a parent, there is nothing more reassuring than knowing your child is in the hands of people who genuinely care about them.

One of the things that stands out most is the way the girls are encouraged to be themselves. They are given a wide range of opportunities which spark their interests and are a lot of fun! Our daughter has learnt so much since joining.

I would not hesitate to recommending Howells Nursery to other parents.

I could not be happier with the quality of care provided at Howell's nursery. It is a warm, nurturing, attentive environment in which the girls are supported to learn and develop. My daughter talks a lot about the wide variety of things she is learning, the skills she is developing, and also how she is collaborating with the other children. There is a strong sense of community and positivity. Nursery has become such an important part of my daughter's life, not just because she is there but because it engages her so fully and she looks forward to the next nursery day and talking to her lovely teachers and friends. It is such a precious time before primary school starts, we are fortunate that she is able to enjoy all the wonderful opportunities that Howells Nursery provides.

Both of my daughters attended the Howells nursery and they both loved it, the team are wonderful and both girls skipped in happily every day. The days are full of joy, fun and learning and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for a nursery for their daughter in Cardiff.

Howell's School nursery is absolutely amazing. The space is open and light, with many interesting things to play with and do. My daughter started there in Sept 2025 and took so little time to settle in. She's been thriving socially, adores her teachers and is so excited to go in to see everyone every day. The staff are lovely, caring, perceptive and smart. I love that they send back a little project for us to do together at home each week. My daughter is always so excited to open her homework book, to see what the next challenge will be! She's been learning many new things: reading and writing, maths, science, music, about the outside world in forest school, swimming, etc! It's so great that she gets to play with the older kids in after school care and holiday club, too - that's something she really loves to do. I was also very impressed by the school Christmas play, and she had so much fun participating. I cannot speak highly enough of this nursery and of Howell's School overall!

We've had the best experience with Howell's and would always recommend it to anyone.

Our daughter has been at Howell's nursery since she turned three and has really thrived there. She adores all of the staff and they are so caring and nurturing that she is excited to go in every day. The facilities and timetable are fantastic, including cooking, swimming and forest school and are really engaging for our daughter. The wrap around care is also first rate and we find everything very organised with great communication. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the nursery.

Communication with parents is excellent; we always know what our daughter has been doing during the school day. The environment is beautifully maintained, safe and thoughtfully designed to inspire exploration and independence

The staff are incredibly nurturing and take a truly individualised approach. They've really helped build her confidence, and it's been amazing to see how much she has grown and thrived since starting. The nursery offers an excellent range of activities including music, PE, swimming lessons, cookery, and forest school - all of which she thoroughly enjoys. All meals are provided too, which is a great bonus for working parents.

What really stands out is how well Howell's has supported her in preparing for the move to prep school, all while keeping her in a safe and caring environment. She's been able to learn, explore, and develop at her own pace, with gentle encouragement and lots of praise. We're so grateful to the team for everything they've done.

I could not have wished for a better experience for my children's first time in an educational setting. I would recommend Howell's Nursery wholeheartedly.

We love the nursery at Howell's Nursery. The space feels warm, welcoming and inspires creativity. There are so many engaging activities that the girls take part in, there is something for them to look forward to each day. It makes learning so much fun. And the teachers, the wonderful teachers. Our daughter runs to them with open arms every morning. They are kind, understanding, patient - just absolutely lovely. We are so happy to be a part of the nursery class at Howell's. Can't imagine our little one being anywhere else.

My daughter attended Howell's Nursery last year, and it was a home away from home for her. She absolutely adored her teachers and looked forward to going there every day. All staff are exceptional and make sure each child gets individual attention and nurturing, while maintaining a great balance of academics and playtime. I would highly recommend Howell's to parents looking to enroll their child in nursery.

We have been blown away by the excellent care our daughter has received since starting at Howell's. Her teachers are wonderful and she has developed so much in the few months she's been there. She looks forward to going every day and that's all we can ask for, we couldn't recommend it more.

Love the place. All staff know every child. They look after the kids with patience. They are genuinely proud of the kids when they make even small steps/improvements. I feel very comfortable and safe to have them look after my children.

My daughter was very nervous to start nursery, the nerves disappeared very quickly! This is down to the outstanding staff. The staff were simply wonderful, they were so nurturing towards them. It felt like home from home! The activities and learning were to a really high standard. The only tears I had were on occasions of not wanting to leave nursery as too much fun was being had. If I had my time again, I would always choose Howell's. Thank you to all the wonderful staff for making the earliest learning years so memorable, and the best start for education.

My granddaughter was really happy in Howell's Nursery from day 1 - the teachers and all staff are very welcoming to both my granddaughter and to me. The communication between nursery and home is excellent with really quick responses and regular detailed updates on what the girls do in class. There are many opportunities to meet with the teachers and communicate via email if needed as well as termly parents' evenings / meet with the teacher and a chance to see the progress your child has made by looking at their workbooks. My granddaughter has grown immensely in both academic achievement and confidence since starting at Howell's Nursery and has been very happy there - the atmosphere at the school is very welcoming and friendly and the staff show great kindness to my husband and myself when we are either visiting or collecting our granddaughter from school. There is a superb learning environment - with each girl feeling cared for and well supported throughout their time in Howells.

Our daughter had a fantastic experience at Howell's Nursery, made great friends, learnt so much, and got a real head start when moving on to reception. The staff and facilities are fantastic here, they really care and put so much into making it a great experience for the girls. Our daughter was always keen to go, the only time we had tears was when she couldn't go in because she was sick.
