Initially, we were impressed with this nursery. Staff were very friendly and warm to our son. Then he graduated to the blue room and problems began. With each passing week, I noticed him becoming more subdued when I took him. Two girls there are friendly but not as warm - lack of excitement in their voice to children. Eventually, my son cracked and broke down twice - once when I dropped him off and once when his mum did so. He seemed in genuine distress. I picked him up on his last trip and he seemed distressed when I arrived to collect him too.

Generally a good nursery but there are two staff that are not as warm as others ladies there. There was also a time when he came home in soiled trousers but a clean nappy.

Overall the staff are good and most mean well but it didn't work out for my boy.

Chloe Wilkes, Marketing Admin at Busy Bees at Ashford Godinton responded to this review on 30 Aug 2017:

Having taken over managing the setting in July 2017 myself and the team were working with the family to address the concerns raised. The issue regarding the soiled trousers was fully investigated and logged as a formal complaint which was shared with the parents. The Room Manager of our 2-3's had a meeting with both parents to reassure them. When they dropped their child off for the afternoon session it which would normally be mid-afternoon, not long after the child had woken from a sleep so at times would be tearful, however in no way distressed as we would not leave any child like that and would contact the parents if were unable to pacify them. We had suggested that their son attend morning sessions instead to see if that would be more beneficial and informed them of the up coming changes regarding the staff team in that room.
It is always sad when children leave and particularly if the parents have not been fully satisfied with the service provided, however, the comments have been taken on board as we are reflective and shared with the team, but the soiling incident was fully investigated as stipulated above.

Both my daughters have really enjoyed their time at Godinton. My youngest is still at pre-school and is looked after brilliantly. I have never had any concerns over the welfare of my two girls in terms of their learning, dietary needs, care and attention. Their key workers have always put my mind at rest when needed. This is a lovely nursery / pre-school. We will miss going there.

My eldest son attended Busy Bees Godinton from 9 months old until leaving to start school, I am now sending my youngest there too as we have been so impressed with them.
The staff are kind and caring with the children's interests in the forefront of their minds. They are helpful and supportive and both of my children have built great relationships with them. My eldest son's first key person is now my youngest son's key person and this consistency and familiarity for us all as a family has made it an excellent experience.
The manager, in particular, is brilliant, she knows all the children well and is very approachable and understanding. The facilities are also excellent particularly the outside space, where each age range has their own garden with lots of shade and equipment for the children to play with.

My son started nursery when he was 9 months old and is now due to complete his time at pre school having recently turned 4. My husband and I have been very pleased with the standard of childcare that he has received across his time at nursery and have enjoyed collecting him each day, always finding him with a smile on his face.

All of our son's key workers have managed to form strong bonds with him and seeing their genuine affection towards him and knowing he was being well looked after (from day 1 in the baby room) has made the experience of nursery so much easier for us.

We have noticed a difference in him in confidence since he moved into his pre school room and have really enjoyed watching this grow over the last year, we know he will miss his key worker dearly, she has been truly fabulous throughout and is a real credit to the nursery.

Our daughter thoroughly enjoys her time at Godinton, especially playing outdoors and spending time in the nature garden growing a range of flowers and vegetables. The staff are always very welcoming and have developed strong bonds with our daughter.

Our son started here at 11 months after removing him from another nursery which we felt we weren't happy with. He went off on his first day with no issue considering he did not have a settling in session (our fault due to illness). He was so happy when we left him on his first day we knew straight away we had made the right decision. All the staff are so friendly. It's so lovely to leave our son knowing he is happy and cared for while we go to work.
He has always been busy doing activities during the day painting, singing, playing, etc.
They have a brilliant outside space for all the different ages of children.
The only thing that isn't as good for us is the nursery is open only till 6 which sometimes is a struggle with our working hours and I imagine with other people as well however this is a small compromise to make for such a fantastic nursery.

Our son attended the nursery from the age of 9 months. He's been very well taken care of. He is 2 years 4 months old now and likes it a lot. Busy Bees has great facilities, it's clean, has very friendly and professional staff, who are flexible and adapt according to the children's needs. We're very happy with the nursery. The only criticism is the almost constantly overflowing bin outside the nursery building. Often there's rubbish flying around after the bags have been torn by animals. Not a great environment near children.

Kim Ziolkowski, Nursery Manager at Busy Bees at Ashford Godinton responded to this review on 30 Sep 2015:

As a part of our Zero Waste to Landfill initiative we are trying our best to deal with all rubbish in an environmentally friendly manner. We are aware that there is an issue with the bin and we are doing our very best to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. In the meantime, our staff continuously tidy up outside to contain the rubbish, to avoid it affecting the nursery and public. These bins are at the front of the building, somewhere that children do not have access to, so the children are not affected by this. We look forward to getting this small issue resolved soon, to strengthen our nursery’s commitment on sending zero waste to landfill.
