Footsteps Nursery School

Overall, my children had a positive experience at Footsteps. There is lots of encouragement to play outside and a good range of activities for the children to participate in. Most of the staff seem to be really engaged with the children. It was also very helpful to have a term-time only nursery.

However, there was a very noticeable decline in standards during the time our children attended the nursery. Unfortunately, most of the experienced staff left and there was a really obvious decline in staff morale with the ones that did stay on. When our son's key worker left , she was replaced by a member of staff who gave very few updates on our oldest child and they often came several days late, with lots of grammatical errors that made them difficult to read. I also don't feel like the nursery always took our concerns seriously.

There were some really lovely things about Footsteps but it does feel like it's going downhill.

We couldn't be happier with Footsteps Nursery. The staff truly care about the children - they take the time to listen, discuss, and work together with parents to find the best solutions. What really stands out is their genuine commitment to understanding each child as an individual.

The activities are always engaging, and the play garden is fantastic - a real highlight for the children. What makes Footsteps truly special is their free-flow approach: children are free to choose what they want to do and whether they want to be indoors or outside. The garden door is always open, giving them the freedom to explore and play in a way that suits them best.

Both of my sons have attended Footsteps Nursery. The staff are fantastic, and I have always felt confident that the boys were being well cared for. The environment is very warm and welcoming. I would recommend Footsteps Nursery to a family member or friend.

They have also been very supportive and helpful with my daughter's medical condition. I utterly trust them to care for my daughter, and I have learnt first hand that their first aid is definitely up to scratch!

We have two children at Footsteps who are chalk and cheese in personality! We have been really impressed with how responsive the staff have been to their very different needs and the gentle, flexible approach taken. Our eldest son has SEN and has been so well supported with transitioning and settling into the nursery. He now asks every morning, "can I go to preschool today?!" and when we get there, hangs up his coat, kisses me goodbye and goes straight to find his friends which I honestly never thought would happen. There is a great range of activities available for the children, and staff are warm, kind and responsive to the childrens' interests, always coming up with new fun ways to engage them. We love that there is loads of opportunity for time outdoors, and that play is genuinely child-led. We are so pleased to have found Footsteps and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the nursery.
