Founded in 2012 by two mums, Little Apples Day Nursery has grown into a thriving setting with a dedicated team of around 30 staff members, many of whom have been with the nursery for over a decade. Together, they are committed to delivering high-quality childcare in a warm and nurturing environment. The nursery features an on-site kitchen providing freshly prepared meals, four age-specific rooms, a calming sensory room, and a well-equipped garden with a free-flow area that supports seamless indoor and outdoor learning.

At the heart of the nursery is its “workshop play” curriculum, where learning and play come together. Each day, rooms are thoughtfully set up as engaging stations, including small world play, role play, and hands-on activities such as sand and water play. This approach encourages children to explore, discover, and learn in a way that suits their individual interests and learning styles.

Little Apples recognises that every child develops at their own pace and prides itself on providing a tailored approach to learning. Each child is supported with personalised and achievable next steps, reviewed every six weeks, to guide their development through the curriculum.

Above all, the nursery’s aim is for every child to feel happy, confident, and inspired to learn through play. Carefully planned daily routines are filled with enriching experiences, offering praise for achievements and gentle support where needed, ensuring every child can thrive at their own pace.

Little Apples Day Nursery is such a warm and welcoming place. From the moment you walk in, it's clear they truly care not only for the children but also for the well-being of their staff. The team create a nurturing environment where children feel safe, supported, and encouraged to grow.
What really
stood out was how well organised they are and how keen they are to keep improving, always looking for ways to raise their standards even further. A special thanks to two members of staff for the time, effort, and genuine care they show; it really makes a difference

Both of my sons have gone to little apples and have had very positive experiences. My eldest was always happy going in and came out full of energy and happy. He was there from 18 months to age 4. When my second child joined at only 6 months old, the staff in baby room went out of their way to make sure
I felt comfortable leaving him with them and that he was safe and happy. The main thing that stands out for me is the staff. They put so much effort it and genuinely love and care for the children and that shows. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend little apples!

Both of my children have attended Little Apples, from ten months old. They received great care all the way from Baby Pips through to PreSchool. Their graduation day was a memorable moment before my son left; having been well prepared by the teachers he is now in primary school where he is thriving.
My youngest is now in PreSchool and loves choosing the learning themes, woodland sessions and Spanish. We will be very sad to say goodbye to Little Apples when he starts school in 2025.

My baby has been extremely happy since attending from September. All the staff in every room are always so friendly and welcoming when you walk in. Staff in my baby's room always respond to queries quickly and have great communication regarding progress or anything that needs addressing promptly. We
feel we are always well informed and that nothing is ever too much trouble for them.
All the activities look amazing and we are so pleased that our baby has a place here where she can begin her early education. I highly recommend this nursery!
Thank you to everyone who looks after her.

Great nursery with fantastic staff who genuinely care about the children. My daughter loves going here every day and has made some wonderful friends. The staff are superstars, always engaging with the kids in such a positive and nurturing way. I completely trust them with my daughter's care and development.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it a safe and enjoyable environment for children to thrive. Highly recommend this nursery for any parent looking for a place that feels like a second home for their child.

Both of my children have been at this nursery for 4 years and have loved in particular the care and concern from the staff to the children. Both have really enjoyed their time spent at the nursery they have learnt so much and have made friends that they have taken into the school. The outdoor space
is also very good, lots for the kids to do and enough equipment for to stretch their imaginations. I would definitely recommend.

I Feel happy that my daughter has settled so well into red apples class. I can leave her with no tears and know that she is being well looked after.
I can also check on the app for the activities they are up to, what she has had to eat and drink etc.
My daughter's speech has improved a lot since
attending here.
I also love the fact that the same staff have been there from ten years ago when my twin boys went there, happy staff, happy children.

My son has been going to Little Apples since he was nine months old (April 2022), and we couldn't be happier. He has been learning a lot, and I'm really proud of his work shared every day, but for me, the most important thing is how they make him feel and how well he is looked after; the staff are brilliant,
so kind and caring. When he is at home, he calls out for them and constantly chats about them. He is always excited to go in and spend time there. It is wonderful to know he is in a place where he is happy and really cared for.

We are absolutely thrilled with our son's experience since starting at Little Apples Nursery School last June. The staff team is truly amazing (special shout out to two particular members of staff), and their dedication to nurturing children is evident. Their structured approach to learning is exemplary,
with clear objectives that guide each child's development. We've witnessed firsthand how they gently guide him towards these goals, fostering his growth and understanding every step of the way. Moreover, the communication between the staff and us as parents is outstanding. They utilise an app that keeps us updated on our son's activities and progress and even provides insights into his daily experiences. Additionally, their commitment to regular one-on-one feedback sessions through parent evenings, ensures that we are always informed and involved. Overall, we couldn't be more pleased with Little Apples Nursery School. It's truly a place where our son is not only learning but thriving.

I have been hugely impressed since my son started at Little Apples just over a year ago.
The staff have always provided him with great care, and his development is amazing to see on a day-to-day basis.
I am hugely impressed also by the food menu on offer with a variety of all flavours and cuisines
differing each week.

After several viewings, we chose Little Apples because we got the best feeling from the manager, she is wonderful! We also like the layout of the nursery where there are separate rooms for each age group and they are all connected to each other. They have organised woodland sessions, home kits, Spanish
lessons, events such as Christmas / Summer / Easter fairs, parent events Mother’s Day afternoon tea, doughnuts with daddy, painting pumpkins, storytelling with parents. The kids have even met firefighters and sat in a fire engine and met police officers. In regards to development, our son is 3 and already doing most of the 4/5-year-old development stages so the nursery is all round excellent. In summary, our son has had the best 3.5 years learning, making friends, having fun and being taken care of by some fantastic people and we are really happy we chose Little Apples as our nursery. Thank you to all the staff at Little Apples, we highly recommend this nursery.

Leaving your child at nursery is very daunting as a parent but the staff at Little Apples have been amazing! My child is not only cared for, educated and fed well but he's also loved by the staff who take excellent care of him and keep us informed and involved in our child's care. The fact that Little
Apples is 5 miles from our home is a testament to how excellent their care is.

We first sent our daughter to Little Apples when she was one and a half. From the first settling in session, we felt welcome and comfortable sending her there. We now have our second daughter there and again couldn’t ask for more. The care, setting and all the staff are wonderful. I would recommend

Our son has been attending Little Apples since June 2020 during lockdown when he was eight and a half months old. He has has the most amazing time there and has bonded with the fantastic staff. He often talks about the staff on the way to nursery, excited to see them. All the staff make the effort to
know him, even if they are not directly in his room. I have no doubt he has learnt so much in the last year and a half and is absolutely thriving and a lot is credit to the experience he’s had at little apples. The management themselves, have been brilliant with helping with short notice changes or extra days due to emergencies. As shift workers, we have found the flexibility to be a lifeline and we are so grateful

I visited several nurseries in the area before choosing Little Apples. The staff were so engaged and I liked the class sizes/age ranges for each class. My daughter started going at 18 months. I was still quite anxious about leaving her (in any nursery), but the staff were so nurturing and caring, that
not only did she settle quickly they also made me feel at peace about leaving her there. She is now 3.5 and has learned so much there. She absolutely loves going to nursery and always talks about the staff and how much she loves them. I have, on occasion, asked who her fav is. She always proceeds to reel off all the staff names 1 by 1, even those from previous years, as she cannot pick just one. Little Apples has helped me out loads too. When I was training and needed to rejig my hours, they were so helpful, accommodating, and flexible. Recommend 100%.

Little Apples is a wonderful nursery with a fantastic team. My daughter started at ten months and is now eighteen months and she has really blossomed in the nursery environment.
The team are all enthusiastic, caring, and have a genuine passion for the children.
The settling in sessions were brilliant
and took into the factor of my daughter being a covid baby and therefore not as socialised as others. It went down really well.
My daughter is always happy to be dropped off at nursery and is comfortable with all team members including those from the older groups/classes.
The office team are also brilliant and prompt and efficient with requests etc. All staff have been friendly and lovely from the start.
The building and setting is great with really lovely facilities, clean and a comfortable friendly environment.
I've recommended Little Apples to several people since my daughter started.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.907) out of 10 for Little Apples Day Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 28 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.907 for Little Apples Day Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (307 Excellents x 5) + (25 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 335 Ratings = 4.907
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Little Apples Day Nursery is based on 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 76 number of registered child places is 15.2, which has been reached with 28 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
