Les Petites Etoiles Bilingual Montessori - Paddington is a French-English nursery for children aged ten months to four-years-old located in Paddington.

The nursery offers age-appropriate classes which are responsive to the needs of children depending on their age and specific learning and support needs.

They has several native French teachers who provide children with a French-bilingual environment, while children are also supported by fully-trained Montessori teachers and staff members with alternative qualifications in childcare.

The needs of all children are supported, monitored and nurtured during their time at the nursery, and many of the teachers are parents themselves and understand that each child may require a different level of care.

Offer a four course organic menu, prepared daily by the nursery chef.

Choosing LPE-Paddington for our son Raka has been one of the best decisions we've made as parents. From the beginning, the teachers welcomed him with open arms and made him feel at home. Raka quickly built trust with the staff, and it was clear that he was surrounded by people who truly cared about
him-not just as a student, but as a little person with his own personality and emotions.
We watched Raka blossom here. He became more confident, more expressive, and more independent. He learned to share, to communicate better, and to explore the world around him through fun and meaningful activities. Every morning he looked forward to going to nursery. As parents living abroad, having a nursery that feels like an extended family means everything. The teachers at LPE-Paddington supported us wholeheartedly-always available for conversations, updates, and reassurance. We are incredibly thankful for the love, patience, and dedication that the team has shown.

Our child attended Les Petites Etoiles Bilingual Montessori for three years, and we couldn't be happier. The teachers are incredibly kind, caring, and genuinely invested in the children's well-being and development.
Our child learned so much during their time there, both in French and English. I was
e impressed by everything they picked up from the Bunnies, to the Penguins and the Lions room. The small teacher-to-student ratio really makes a difference, allowing for meaningful one-on-one time to play and learn.
The food is honestly 5-star level, healthy, varied, and delicious.
The only minor drawback is that the nursery is located in a basement, but the children go outside regularly, so it's not really an issue.

We've had a fabulous year so far, in two of the rooms. We've found all staff, rooms, food and drink to be of the highest quality. The multi-language approach has been great for our child and his social skills are excellent.

Our son attended this nursery for 2.5 years and it was truly a wonderful experience. From the beginning, the environment was kind, caring, loving and providing him with the best possible start. The staff felt like an extended family, they cared deeply for all the children and created a warm and nurturing
atmosphere.
The food was excellent and it was clear that every aspect of the nursery was thoughtfully designed to support the children's development and happiness. Choosing the right nursery is important and we feel so lucky to have found the perfect one. We couldn't recommend this nursery highly enough.

My son started Les Petites Etoiles when he was 14 months old and continued for 3 years and we left in tears for reception. It was such a great journey over the 3 years leaving our son every morning to capable hands and being sure that he will be taken good care of. We are none French-speaking family
and we feel that we invested in our son's future by sending him to a bilingual nursery. Staff are amazing and the communication is very good to understand what is going on in their daily routine. We can only thank and be grateful to all staff and teachers of Les Petites Etoiles Paddington for the amazing 3 years who helped our son's development.

My daughter was with Les Petites Etoiles Paddington for almost a year and joined a bit after she turned 1.
We absolutely loved our time there. They are very good at settling young children and reassuring parents. Communication is clear and very detailed every day at pick-up. Our daughter loved her
teachers and made lots of friends while she was at the nursery. While she did long days ( the nursery is open 8-6pm, convenient for working parents) she was well settled and happy at pick up.
Also, the menus are great and we were always amazed at the variety of food children are given to try.
We have now moved her out of convenience for nursery closer to us but we will miss the team at Petites Etoiles and will remember fondly the nursery.

Our son and daughter had a wonderful experience at Les Petites Etoiles. As parents, we believe that the right foundation is crucial, and we're pleased to say that our children's early education at Les Petites Etoiles has been nothing short of exceptional. Some of the reasons that made them exceptional
- were caring and dedicated staff, holistic development, dedicated French-only teachers, safe and clean environment.
Their dedication to creating a nurturing and educational environment has set a strong foundation for our children's academic and personal growth. We wholeheartedly recommend Les Petites Etoiles to any parent seeking a caring and enriching kindergarten experience for their child.

Our daughter spent a wonderful time at Les Trois Oursons. She enjoyed every moment of it and kept great memories of her friends and staff. The team at the nursery were very caring and nurturing and kept us informed of our little one's progress throughout the years. The activities and day trips were
great and captivating for her age. We loved that she developed her understanding and communication in both languages (English/French). The pandemic period was difficult for everyone involved, but the management team at the nursery handled it very well.
Overall, it was a great experience for our daughter, and she loved it. We highly recommend this nursery. Les Trois Oursons team - you will be missed.

All of my children have attended Les Trois Oursons, and my youngest left recently to go on to school. It is a brilliant nursery, cosy and nurturing for the children - mine all adored it. From a parents point of view, we were kept well informed, the staff are professional, trustworthy and always cheerful
and ready to help. I would highly recommend it.

Our son attended Les Trois Oursons for the bunnies and penguin rooms. He bonded really well with the other children and all the staff. We found the care given to be of a very high standard, and that the staff (in particular the Manager) were always keen to be accommodating and approachable. We thought
the activities they did in the classes to be varied and our son seemed to find them extremely engaging. I would have no issue in recommending Les Trois Oursons.

Les Trois Oursons is a wonderful nursery! I could see that my daughter enjoyed each day of nursery that she attended!

The children are divided into three age appropriate classes with an excellent ratio of teachers to children in each. In their daily schedule and weather permitting, the children also

have access to nearby green spaces and other outdoor activities. There are also occasional classes, such as yoga, music, and sports, which my daughter seemed to thoroughly enjoy!

The bilingual (or tri-lingual) teaching the nursery offers is unique and I believe offers children an excellent opportunity to learn about the different languages that are used. Communication from the nursery is great, especially during the pandemic where parents were kept well informed throughout - additional videos were also recorded by the teachers to aid the children during the first lockdown.

To summarise, it's a wonderful nursery with amazing and friendly teachers on a lovely street near Paddington station.

My son attended Les Trois Oursons for two years (until he started school) and was incredibly happy there. The staff were very attentive to his individual needs and I felt he was very well supported there. They really helped him grow into the confident, chatty, and curious boy he is. During the pandemic,
due to lots of reasons, my son had a small patch where he became rather unsettled, but I was incredibly impressed at how the nursery dealt with this and worked with me to help him find his happy self again. They really thought about how to help him through this period, and I really appreciated their attention to detail, this was no small feat given all the complexity they were dealing with like all nurseries at the time. He also learnt to eat really well here, the food at the nursery is amazing, my son has a lot of allergies and so got to know the chef quite well, and they served him excellent dairy and nut free food!

Our daughter went to Les Trois Oursons from January 2020 until July 2021. She absolutely loved her time there, first in the Bunnies Room and then in the Penguins Room. For us, her parents, it was such a delight to see her thrive at Les Trois Oursons. She learnt so much there! The main reason we chose
this nursery was the fact that it is bilingual French/English (us being a French speaking family), and indeed she developed her speech in both languages. All the staff are very caring, and our daughter was very fond of her teachers. The food offered at Les Trois Oursons is very nice, and she seemed to really enjoy lunchtime there. Overall, I absolutely recommend this nursery!

It was our first time placing our 15 month old son in nursery and we were a little anxious with how he would respond to a new environment and new people as he had not been socialised given the periods of lockdown. Les Trois Oursons took every measure to ensure our son settled in well and that his first
experience of nursery was fun, happy and positive. We were pleased with the Montessori principles adopted by Les Trois Oursons in the activities, room layout and approach at mealtimes.

Our daughter had a wonderful time at Les Trois Oursons. We had tried another nursery beforehand, however, we could tell she wasn't enjoying it. She was always happy to get dropped off in the mornings and still happy when we picked her up. Les Trois Oursons is very well organised and communicate constantly.
The staff are all excellent, friendly and caring. At the end of each day, it was nice to see the summary of the activities they did (i.e. going to the park, painting, drawing etc), along what they ate (which was always healthy and varied daily) and how long they napped for. Highly recommended.

My daughter and I have had the best experience at Les Trois Oursons. It was very easy leaving her there as it felt safe and most of all, I had the feeling that they genuinely like children. As for my daughter, she went there very excitedly and always came home proudly showing her days achievement, along
with songs and stories.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.266)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.266) out of 10 for Les Petites Etoiles Bilingual Montessori - Paddington is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.821 for Les Petites Etoiles Bilingual Montessori - Paddington is calculated as follows: ( (72 Excellents x 5) + (9 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 84 Ratings = 4.821
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.445 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Les Petites Etoiles Bilingual Montessori - Paddington is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 47 number of registered child places is 9.4. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 9.4 = 0.745
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2017

Hello, I am Marina, the Manager at Les Trois Oursons, and I would love to introduce myself to you!

I am from Spain, where I started my journey in the Early Years with a degree in Speech and Language Therapy and Early Years Education. After my degree, I gained practical experience working as a Speech Therapist and Nursery practitioner for many years.

After moving to London in 2015, I joined Les Trois Oursons in 2017 and became the Manager in late 2019.

I am passionate about the Early Years and its an honour to look after the children, helping them achieve their full potential while providing a supportive environment. As a setting based on the Montessori pedagogy, we work towards children's autonomy, self-esteem and self-regulation. We implement a rich variety of activities based on the children's interests and needs.

Partnership with parents and teamwork are essential too. Working alongside the team and involving the parents allows us to provide high-quality teaching to the children.
