Modern Montessori International, MMI Preschool, Raynes Park

The most lovely nursery in the area. The teachers are lovely, always supporting my child. The settling in went smoothly and my child is happy to go to the nursery every morning. The Montessori approach gives children so much freedom and independence. And the garden is just huge, and safety all covered with grass.

I am regularly dropping off and collecting my grandson as his parents are both working. Such a lovely and welcoming environment. My grandson loves running inside, shouting bye bye nanna. He did cry for the setting in but the ladies confirmed him and it was all gone in a week time. Massive outdoor garden is a bonus!

The amazing outdoor space is a bonus as you don't always find a nursery with this massive outdoor in the middle of the park.

I was a little apprehensive about moving my twins to this nursery as it was a big change from their previous childcare setting; however, the staff have been fantastic and really made the transition so easy. They run in happily every day and have learnt so much in just a couple of months. I love the additional activities offered, e.g. cooking and teddy tennis, to add variety to the week. So pleased we made the move!

We absolutely love the manager and her team and really appreciate their hard work! There are lots of great activities for children to do and a lovely garden that my daughter absolutely adores. We're looking forward to our Christmas photos this year and all Christmas festivities every year! My daughter has a great relationship with all her teachers, especially her key workers, and she looks forward to going every week.

I couldn’t ask for my son to attend a better nursery. The staff are exceptional, and we class them as family, as they treat my child so well. My son was ever so nervous to start nursery and took a while to settle, although everyone made sure he felt safe, well looked after and cared for. He now runs into the nursery - he can’t wait to go. I couldn’t rate this nursery any higher if I tried. Thank you to the manager and co; you are all absolutely amazing, and we love you all!

Our son spent five terms at this nursery and it has been a wonderful setting for him. The staff are very professional and friendly, the activities stimulating and the outside space, idyllic. He is now very ready for school in September thanks to the dedication of the staff.

My son attended the pre school for 2 years. Our experience is extremely positive. The teachers are very dedicated, experienced and genuinely like working with kids of this age. The environment is accommodative, child led and nurturing. The kids in the morning are happy and rush towards the gates - which says a lot!

My son, aged 27 months old had a tantrum once and the headteacher didn’t want to calm him down. She asked us to take him round, calm him down and bring him back. I thought they’d be trained to do this, we were surprised. Asking if I could go in (we had a settling in period of 1 hour only!) with my son to comfort him for ten minutes. She shouted ‘no you’re not doing that again' - in front of other parents where it’s all our neighbourhood. I didn’t find her approachable and she was very unprofessional. She said I need to be stricter otherwise my son will make use of me for the rest of my life. However, the breaking point for me was when she said he hasn’t opened his mouth for the two weeks he’s been in (only 3 hours a day and 3 days a week - he attended this nursery only for two weeks. My son never stops talking at home, he’s obviously only shy. She asked me to take him to doctors and that she’s seen much younger kids speaking three languages fluently. Been comparing kids this age. Just shocking.

We moved our son to MMI Raynes Park after two years at a local nursery and so were naturally nervous about how well he would settle in a new environment. We really liked the fact the settling was tailored to the individual child and thanks to the wonderful staff, he was asking to be left on his own by day two! The environment and teaching approach is completely suited to him with various rooms, a plethora of activities and both in house and external, pre Covid-19. They also have a great outdoor space. In eighteen months he has learnt a wealth of new skills from pouring, measuring, writing and he is starting to read. We have seen him grow into a very independent and caring four year old who is really well prepared for primary school. The fact he and many of his friends run into the preschool each day is testament to the nurturing environment the manager and her staff have created. By far the best decision we have made so far for our son and we will be forever grateful to the incredible preschool team!

We are feeling blessed to have this nursery in our area. Not only it is a Montessori approach led school, the staff are very experienced, trained and don't change fast as in many other nurseries. The place is spacious, sunny and the garden is simply gorgeous. I'm so happy my both children can enjoy this vast open space during the day, especially comparing to other nurseries in the area. The location is very safe and nice, being in middle of the park. It's also very handy to go to the playground with children afterwards which is two steps away. We also love the fact that the nursery has mixed age, the younger children are learning from older ones, the older ones are learning to be caring about younger ones and there is no normalization of age development models. The nursery is also more affordable then many other ones. It would suit parents with flexible schedule, though as the nursery works during school hours, it is closed during all the school holidays.

Our daughter is attending MMI Raynes Park since November 2019. She settled quickly and ever since loves it! She is always happy to go to play with her friends, to do fun activities and was missing the nursery very much during the time of the first lockdown in 2020. The nursery is located on the grounds of Cottenham Park with an enviably large outdoor space where children have lots of fun every day. It is great that the staff of the nursery are all full time qualified and experienced teachers, not only providing solid ground and resources for everyday learning and playing but are also very caring, children love them! Among the activities that our daughter enjoys most are arts, cooking and Spanish. Looking at how happy she is in this preschool and how much she is learning, we can highly recommend it!

I am so thankful as I have definitely chosen an amazing nursery for my son. He loves his preschool and he has learnt so many things there. The outdoor area is huge, unique and the indoors is perfect. My son really likes the different rooms, such as the art room. The team at MMI Raynes Park is very caring and I can tell that all the children are growing and learning happily there. Thank you!

My daughter started at the nursery 6 months ago, in the middle of lockdown and the staff made me feel confident that every step had been taken to ensure the space was in line with the government guidelines for Covid protection and the health and safety of the children was prioritised.

My son has attended the nursery since September 2020 so I couldn't visit beforehand (covid), but plumped for it on the basis of the beautiful outside space, superb reviews from friends and a lovely chat with the wonderfully warm nursery manager over the phone. Possibly my best ever parenting choice! The nursery manager and other teachers/staff are so experienced, kind and caring - it's a really safe, calm and nurturing environment. My son has absolutely blossomed under their care and developed strong friendships with other children. He races in every morning with scarcely a look back - there are almost no teary children at drop-off, which is testament to what a happy place it is. They can run around outside and tire themselves out, as well as the learning activities with the teachers in the Montessori style. If I want to speak to the teachers about anything they're flexible and available to speak on the phone or in-person outside. I only wish I had sent him (and indeed my first child) there earlier.

I highly recommend Modern Montessori pre-school as a fantastic start to your child’s early years of education.

We have had an incredibly positive experience with our two year old son joining MMI Raynes Park. He settled in straight away and always looks forward to going in. His language skills have improved immeasurably since starting and he often sings new songs that he has learnt or chats about the things he has done each day. Our son attends for four mornings a week which has worked well for us. We have found the manager and her team to be friendly, approachable and the information and feedback about our son's daily activities and progress have been both detailed and reassuring.
