My little girl has been with rascals from October 2024 & she loves it, she runs in every morning. The staff are amazing with the children & you get lots of updates during the day to see what they are doing. It has helped her hit milestones we were worrying about, her speech has came on amazing since
starting. Amazing nursery & staff x

We have been using Rascals now for our children since 2013, very pleased with the service our children have, really enjoyed their time in the nursery. The staff are really good with them, the structure there is great too, good preparation for the transition to nursery school. The only downside would
be the fact that the days they are in are set, I understand that this has to be the case due to places available in each room, but being a shift worker it would help if the days were flexible, as it means having to arrange alternative child care if my shifts do not fall on nursery days. Also, bank holidays are another problem to cover with child care. Access to the online forum enabled me to check on them throughout the day - it would help if details about outbreaks of childhood illnesses and other information that is usually up at the entrance to the nursery was also posted on the online forum.

My daughter has been at Rascals for 6 months now and I can honestly say that it was the best choice of childcare that I found for my daughter who was 7 months old at the time. As the time to go back to work approached, the stress and worry of who was going to take care of her and who I was going to
trust with my baby was a real struggle. I wanted the best and I found the best here at Rascals Day Nursery. The warm welcome that my daughter receives here every day, with big smiles, it makes it a very easy transition. I've had no teary goodbyes, she absolutely loves it. They have a well-run facility that meets all the needs for my daughter, excellent communication between parents and providers, clean and safe environment. All staff are warm and welcoming and I would highly recommend for any age.

Our son has been part of Rascals since 2014. Leaving him to return to work was a big issue for me. He was 11 months old and the girls at Rascals made my return to work so easy. Our son was happy and content and the girls genuinely work as if they are 1 big family.
I will be sad to see my son leave
the nursery. I would highly recommend any parent to consider Rascals as a nursery for their child.

I was very anxious about sending my son to nursery, so with a heavy heart I went to view Rascals and could not have been more impressed with what I saw. In one of the rooms, there was a sick child being nursed by one of the girls as if the child were their own and I knew my son would be in safe hands.
My son started when he was 10 months and left when he started school. During this time Rascals were like a second family and the girls were always on hand to give advice. My son had some physical problems and needed physio, Rascals had an Occupational Therapist that comes once a month and this greatly improved my son's movements alongside his own physio. I now have a daughter there and she is coming on leaps and bounds due to the learning environment at Rascals.
I couldn't recommend the place enough. I love that I can keep up to date with my daughter throughout the day with the 'My Nursery App.'

Rascals has a lovely, welcoming atmosphere. All staff are extremely attentive and friendly and show a genuine interest and care towards the children. They provide detailed, daily feedback which is updated throughout the day and can be obtained online.
Rascals provide a comfortable, stimulating environment,
which is well resourced and a variety of play activities to enhance the intellectual, social, emotional, language and physical development of the children. They provide a healthy, nutritious, varied menu.
However, it is expensive and as a result, we only use it 3 days per week.

Current Review Score: 8.1 (8.100)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.1 (8.100) out of 10 for Rascals Day Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.1 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Rascals Day Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (12 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.1 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Rascals Day Nursery is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 number of registered child places is 10. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 10 = 0.1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
