Since opening in 2000, the nursery has grown from strength to strength. It now offers a Junior playgroup, funded pre-school education (Senior Playgroup), and an After-School/summer club based in Dromore Bowling Pavilion.
The emphasis is on offering a warm, welcoming environment, with a focus on providing excellent-quality childcare and education. The nursery's ethos is “to create a nurturing, inclusive environment in partnership with parents, where each child can reach their full potential in an environment which is safe, secure, happy, healthy and stimulating".

We have had our 3 children in Old station from they turned 1. We have had no issues with the nursery, its a brilliant day care. It feels like I am dropping my kids off to family. The girls are all so caring and genuinely interested in the kids and their little lives and interests. They offer a fantastic range of activities for the children with special activities and themes for older kids in the after school over the summer term, like trips to the park and the cinema. The new afterschool at the leisure centre is brilliant the kids have so much more room to play and run.

Our daughter has been attending Old Station Nursery for almost three years, and we honestly could not be happier with the care and support she has received. During her time there, she has grown into an amazing, confident and curious little girl, and we feel the nursery has played a huge part in her development-particularly her intellectual development. The staff are wonderful and consistently go above and beyond to support the children, both personally and educationally. The facilities are excellent, and the range of activities gives the children so many opportunities to learn, explore and have fun. The food is also wonderful, which has been a real bonus for us.
Most importantly, everyone at Old Station Nursery is incredibly caring and treats the children as if they were their own. We have always felt that our daughter is safe, happy and genuinely known by the team. We are so grateful to the whole staff for everything they have done for our daughter. We would highly recommend!

We moved to Dromore, a town where we had no relatives locally. So we required full time nursery care. The Old Station have been absolutely fantastic throughout the last 6 years. They take care of both our kids so well. And always play lots and game, books and activities. All of which are shared on the app. Which we love sharing with their grandparents who live a little further away. They never needlessly send a child home. And even go above and beyond when they see an opportunity to help. I couldn't recommend them enough.

I absolutely LOVE The Old Station Nursery! There is a lot of variety in the activities and they have the learning plans on view where parents can see what their children are learning about during each month. The food is very healthy and nutritious and my son would eat the majority of food prepared for him. The facilities are excellent and the nursery keep you updated through an app, in which they post up pictures of your child throughout the day, tell you what they have had for lunch etc. All the staff there are so caring for each individual child as though they were their own, I cannot fault them. The management team are brilliant as well, keeping you updated about any special dates coming up or if it is a non-uniform day etc. My son loves going into nursery and he has come on leaps and bounds thanks to the diligent work of the staff there and all the other boys and girls that he interacts with. I will be sorry when he eventually has to leave it.

The staff are so friendly and helpful, and really genuinely care about the wellbeing of the children. My daughter is always happy and excited to go off and play when I drop her off in the morning, and I can relax because I know that she is being well looked after. I have complete confidence in the care provided and would gladly send her here again in the future.
The Old Station Nursery is well equipped and staff are great, even other staff that don’t directly care for my daughter know her and are always friendly to me. Their days are well structured and I love how frequent the nursery pal app is updated. I wouldn’t send her anywhere else.

Before opening the Old Station Nursery, I worked as a qualified nurse for 10 years, working with both babies and small children. I then went on to complete my BTech in childhood studies, while also working as a classroom assistant for 4 years in a primary school. During the time that I working as a classroom assistant, I became more aware of the need for a good quality daycare nursery in the Dromore area. I took the brave decision of leaving my job as classroom assistant and began working on my new project of opening The Old Station Daycare Nursery which opened in April 2000. Within 9 months of opening the nursery, we saw the need for expansion and obtained a modular building to facilitate the demand and doubled our capacity.
I feel I am well qualified to understand the needs of children and I am able to provide a safe, secure and caring environment in which your child will grow as an individual.
I am also a wife and a mother of two grown up girls and when not running the nursery there is nothing I enjoy more than spending time with my family.

I have been part of The Old Station team since 2004 and, over the years, have gained experience working across all areas of the nursery. In 2018, I became Nursery Manager and I also lead our Senior Playgroup.
I also love getting involved in baking, crafts and messy play with the children – it gives me the perfect excuse to be a big kid every day! More importantly, these activities provide so many opportunities for children to explore, be creative, build confidence and develop new skills while having lots of fun.
One of the most rewarding parts of my role is supporting children with their behaviour and emotional development. I enjoy finding positive ways to help children understand and manage their emotions, build confidence and develop the skills they need to make positive choices. The Old Station has been a huge part of my life since I was eight years old, when my mum first opened the nursery. After completing my degree in Business, I knew I wanted to bring my skills and knowledge into our family business, and in 2017 I joined the team as Office Administrator. Wanting to develop my understanding of childcare as well as the management side of the nursery, I went on to complete my Level 3 qualification in Childcare, followed by my Level 5 in Management. I am now proud to manage The Old Station alongside my sister, Claire. Being part of a family-run nursery means so much to us. We share a genuine passion for creating a happy, nurturing environment where children feel secure, confident and able to thrive. Seeing the children grow and flourish during their time with us is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

I have been part of The Old Station team since 2004, when I first joined the Pre-School room, and I have loved being part of the nursery’s journey ever since. I hold a CACHE Diploma in Childcare and have continued to develop my knowledge and skills, completing my Level 5 qualification in Management as part of my progression to Deputy Manager.
As Deputy Manager, I love that I can still work within the rooms and be actively involved with the children. Building relationships with the children and their families is such an important part of my role, and I enjoy being able to watch the children grow in confidence and independence throughout their time with us.
Having worked at The Old Station for so many years, I have seen the nursery grow and develop while still maintaining the warm, welcoming and homely environment that makes it so special. I enjoy supporting the staff team and sharing my experience, while still getting involved in the day-to-day fun of nursery life.
