Both my boys have attended this nursery. I visited quite a few nurseries in the area when making my decision but I have to say Bardykes Farm Nursery School hand’s down won on every aspect. This nursery is unique as it truly has a lovely, homely feel to it and the staff are amazing. I trust them one
hundred percent with my kids. The communication from the nursery is excellent too and they are always at the end of the phone if you have any concerns. The outdoor facilities are vast and my boys had so much fun from feeding the horses, playing in the back field, skimming stones, tending to the animals and enjoying hot chocolate round the fire pit. I can’t recommend this nursery enough, my youngest will be starting primary one in August and I can’t believe my journey with Bardykes Farm Nursery School is coming to an end. Thanks to all staff at Bardykes Farm Nursery School for the special nursery experience that my boys and I will always treasure.

Bardykes is a fantastic nursery. Our family has had six children attend this nursery, and every single child loved their time here. The staff are amazing and have been there for years. They are really friendly and really take the time to get to know each family. I have felt at ease leaving both my children
in the safe hands of the staff. The nursery is based on a farm with lots of outdoor learning and animals, and lots of fun. I would really recommend Bardykes Nursery.

Cannot recommend Bardykes Farm Nursery School enough. My daughter has been attending Bardykes Farm Nursery School since 2019 and I can honestly say it is the best decision we have made. The kids learn so much about the outdoors and animals. The nursery creates memories and experiences you wouldn't get
anywhere else. The staff always go above and beyond for you and your child and genuinely care for your child, they aren't called the dream team for nothing.

My boy loved going to Bardykes Farm Nursery School. He was nurtured and encouraged in all his interests. Even through the first lockdown, they supported his learning and he was able to have a social distance farewell. We wish we could have kept him there for another year. He really enjoyed the farm
environment with all the animals. All staff are amazing.

Bardykes Farm Nursery School has been a great environment for both our children to grow and develop. After the excellent care our daughter received, we sent our son there. The staff are knowledgeable, caring and compassionate. They put the child at the heart of all that they do. The setting is unique
with an emphasis on child-led play, loose parts, adult-directed activities and the outdoors. Time and space for children to play and learn in the outdoors is not a token gesture for the nursery but embedded into the daily routines and experiences. The setting and resources available are great. However, it is the care and compassion from the staff which makes this nursery such a wonderful and nurturing environment.

I would highly recommend Bardykes Farm Nursery, my little boy loves the nursery, his friends that he has made there, he also said the staff are lovely (which they are), he enjoys feeding and spending time with the different animals. My daughter also attended Bardykes when she was younger (17 now) so
there was no doubt that my son would attend Bardykes. All the staff are very approachable and will help in any way that they can. They helped to settle him back into nursery after the first lockdown (he was very attached to me as he got used to me being with him 24/7) which was fantastic as I was unsure of what to do but the staff gave me help and advice which I needed and this helped get him settled back in, I would not have been able to do it otherwise.
I enjoy my son telling me about his day, I also think the online journals work very well. I think the outdoor areas are fantastic. I think the staff work very hard and are always happy to help. Keep up the good work!

Cannot recommend Bardykes highly enough. Our wee boy absolutely loved it. It is such a wonderful experience for children to have. Being able to engage with the animals and play in nature is fantastic for their learning and helps develop useful life skills. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and

Since my daughter has started at Bardykes, I have been blown away by the staff, environment and community. The transition process was fantastic and my child happily entered the nursery and quickly established strong relationships with several staff members. The enthusiasm, knowledge and friendliness
of the staff is a true credit to the nursery and I can honestly say I am more than happy with leaving my child in their care.
The communication from the nursery is fantastic, and I always feel fully updated. Similarly, the nursery is very well organised and has adapted very well to new COVID procedures and a completely new approach to learning in a very difficult time.
The learning environment is outstanding and one of the key factors in deciding to send my child there as the children are able to engage in learning experiences that very few nurseries can offer.
I cannot commend this nursery any more, I am so pleased that I chose this nursery.

Like every parent, I want my little one to grow up feeling safe, loved and having a wide range of opportunities for learning and that is what she gets at Bardykes.
I love how they teach the children about nature and sustainability and that my little one gets the chance to look after the animals on
the farm. It is great that they are outdoors and that they get a chance to explore and play.
It is difficult leaving your child in the hands of other people but I know she gets opportunities here that I could never give her. The staff go above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome and there really is a feeling of family and community there. I highly recommend this nursery to others.

Our son had such a fun and enriching time at Bardykes Nursery. The farm setting is a unique experience, but it’s the team at Bardykes that makes it a special place. The staff are all warm, caring and nurturing people - and we will miss them a lot. Thank you dream team.

My 2 great-nieces have attended Bardykes Nursery, as my daughter did many years ago. Each of the girls has benefitted greatly from their time at Bardykes- in part, due to the superb staff who exceed all expectations in their care and welfare of the children, to the emphasis on learning from play, to
the interaction with the myriad of animals and learning to count by collecting hen's eggs still blows my mind! I am so happy to endorse this exceptional nursery and would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone concerned for their positive impact on my 3 girls who became or are becoming beautiful, rounded and caring individuals.

If you are looking for a small, friendly, outdoor nursery, don't look further. My son loved it from the start. They took the time to help my son settled, no tears at all. The staff are a brilliant team, happy to help out in any way. The outdoor is such a great plus for the children, feeding the animals,
gardening and snacks around the fire outside was one of my son's favourite. Even my oldest wished she had been going there but we didn't know about it at that time. Highly recommended.

The nursery is amazing all round it offers everything for the children and our son loved going. The staff are also amazing very welcoming and have a vast amount of training in child development.
Our son required additional support with learning and the nursery promptly identified this and put the measures
in place to assist him. At this time they not only provided amazing support for my son but also the family.

Bardykes Farm provides a wonderful home from home environment for children as well as providing a truly unique and magical nursery experience. Children have an opportunity to be hands-on with all of the different animals, have lunch by the fire outside, play by the river and have an enormous amount
of land to play on and use their imagination. The staff are all incredibly friendly, patient and approachable and take such a genuine interest in each individual child and their needs. The nursery is always striving to improve and have an open-door policy with parents which ensures each child’s individual experience is as enriched as it can be. The fact that the nursery is Eco friendly and teaches the children all about the environment is extremely important to me.
I genuinely couldn’t recommend this nursery enough and feel as though my children have benefitted hugely from attending here.
It’s given them memories to last a lifetime.

I absolutely love this nursery. It was a wonderful place for my daughter to be prior to moving on to primary school.
I have absolutely no qualms in recommending this nursery to other people. It is such a unique nursery - lots of space outside, the animals and the outstanding teachers!
My daughter
was very sad to leave the nursery and has many, many fond memories of Bardykes!

I chose this nursery for its amazing outdoor space and the great reviews I had heard. My son started this nursery in August 2020 and has settled in very well. All staff were very friendly and helped my son settle in confidently. This was very reassuring for myself and my wife.
The children get to
experience lots of different outdoor learning and activities which is perfect as my son loves being outdoors. He always comes home very happy.

Outstanding nursery. Our children are in the safest of hands with the 'dream team'. The facilities are second to none. And the learning opportunities are endless. The kids get to learn about and care for the farm animals. The outside space is unbelievable. As a working mum, it's easy to feel guilty
when you leave your children, but I know how much they love their days with their friends at Bardykes and always come out with a big smile on their face at pick up time. They very quickly formed very strong bonds with their teachers. It's clear the staff are engaged, highly skilled and happy, which is a reflection of the great management of the nursery. The extras like Halloween and Christmas events, yoga, mindfulness etc. are great. The nursery has fully embraced technology to provide amazing virtual support. The children are encouraged to build up the skills they need to transition to school and be independent. We have been made to feel like part of the family at Bardykes.

I have 2 young children and both of them have been pupils at Bardykes, and I cannot recommend it highly enough! The facilities at Bardykes are brilliant, with vast outdoor spaces and access to a variety of animals. The experienced staff are nurturing, inclusive and responsive, and ensure broad learning
experiences for all of the children at nursery. There is a family atmosphere at Bardykes and each child is treated as an individual, with their needs carefully considered. Management staff at Bardykes are approachable and keen to include parents and families in developments and decision making within the nursery.
Choosing an early years setting for your child is a difficult decision. For my family, there was no doubt that Bardykes was the right choice!

My son attended Bardykes for 3 years and loved it there. He is now in Primary 1 but still talks about nursery fondly. The experiences he had were varied and always well planned. He loved all of the outdoor experiences the nursery had due to its farm setting. The nursery has a real home from home feel
to it and the staff are fantastic - great with the kids as well as being approachable if you want to speak to them about anything. I would thoroughly recommend this nursery to anyone.

My little boy loves this nursery! The children spend most of their time outdoors playing in the Secret Garden, doing the gardening, feeding the animals, and generally having a ball! There are great indoor facilities also for days of adverse weather. The staff are all fantastic, very friendly and knowledgeable.
The children learn through play, stories and activities at this nursery, who won the national Best Outdoor Learning Environment 2020! Their efforts throughout Covid have been fantastic, they have been transparent throughout and kept everyone up to date. The staff have been engaging with the children during this lockdown by putting up videos, sending activities and doing online catch-ups! They have also ensured the areas the children use, inside and out, have been professionally cleaned and fogged throughout the pandemic. Fantastic place.

  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
