Situated just off junction 61 of the A1 near Durham Services, the nursery offers 94 nursery childcare places for 0-5-year-olds and out of school places, including before and after-school and holiday club care, for children of school age up to the age of 11.

Clever Clogs Day Nursery (Bowburn) is an outstanding nursery with great values. My children have attended Clever Clogs Nursery’s fun club for over three years and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to everyone I know. As a nervous parent, I’m left at ease when I drop off by the kind and compassionate
staff. My children have excelled in their care and always rave about the fun activities they have done.

Amazing nursery. My little boy has come on leaps and bounds. When he started nearly three years ago he found it really hard leaving me but now he runs into nursery without looking back. The staff at Clever Clogs have been amazing and really helped him to get to where he is now which is a young, little
man ready to go to school. I would recommend this nursery to everyone.

My daughter has settled in so well, we were nervous about how she would take to nursery but she is really enjoying it! The staff are all so friendly and helpful making us feel so much better about leaving her and going back to work.

My son loves coming to Clever Clogs and when I drop him off and pick him up he is always happy. When he first started a year ago he was quite shy and a little unsettled but after several weeks he was happy, settled and confident. As a parent that was comforting as we had to leave him to go to work.
The staff are very friendly and it is great to see him having fun and doing activities on Facebook. Thank you.

I have only positive comments about this nursery, the facilities are wonderful and the staff are a real asset. My daughter started just before the first lockdown and the staff were amazing at helping her to settle in in very difficult circumstances. She loves her time at nursery and is doing very well
with her phonics, numbers, shapes and independent care. I never have to worry about her when she is there. There is always someone who is happy to talk about any aspect of her care and I really like that all the staff seem to know her well, regardless of if they are in her room or not. My son also attends the after school club and also enjoys his time at Clever Clogs Day Nursery.
I would not hesitate to recommend this nursery, thank you for all your hard work!

Absolutely outstanding. Could not recommend Clever Clogs Day Nursery enough at Bowburn. My daughter has been here since she was 9-months-old, she’s now 3 and her knowledge, skills and abilities are a credit from the nursery! The girls always go above and beyond not only for the kids but families too!
Always so friendly and kind and they’re all just an absolute credit to the place, nothing is ever too much. I feel my daughter is in such safe hands when she’s there and I know she will have the best day. I cannot thank them enough for all they do, so glad we chose here!

My husband and I can not rate this nursery higher! It's like a second home for our two boys. Very happy children going in for the day and very happy well looked after kids coming out! They talk about the amount of fun they've had that day as well as all the new stuff they've learned and experienced.
The staff are friendly, approachable and highly professional.

My son has been attending Clever Clogs Day Nursery (Bowburn) for around six months. From the very start, the experience for both myself and my son has been wonderful. The daycare staff have been so welcoming, friendly, understanding and, above all else, fun!
Upon starting my son at Clever Clogs the
care and attention provided to structure and approach are outstanding, allowing my son to settle very comfortably into his nursery days.
The staff go above and beyond to support any requirements and keep me updated on his progress.
Activities at the nursery are brilliant, so interactive and varying in experiences which is so important for him to be engaged with.

Our overall experience with Clever Clogs Day Nursery has been excellent. The staff are an asset to the company.
Our daughter has attended from a young age and her development has been fantastic. She has built great relationships with several members of the team and the bonds are clear to see.
There
are new activities on a daily basis which keeps the children interested and they always seem to have lots of fun.
We would strongly recommend this nursery based on our experiences to date.

My little boy has been with Clever Cloggs Day Nursery since January. They are very understanding of him and will help 100% of the time with anything. Always keeping us up to date with the things he's been doing etc. At first, I felt a little off leaving him there not knowing what to expect, but they
soon showed me there was nothing to worry about as he settled in quite quick...he loves all the staff there, they are amazing with the kids. Looking forward to him spending more time there and when his sister joins.

My child has attended Clever Clogs Day Nursery (Bowburn) since being 1-year-old. I feel content knowing she is there when I am at work. I can’t praise the staff enough. They are all so friendly and my little girl adores them. Choosing a nursery is a difficult decision when returning to work but my partner
and I definitely made the right decision. The staff are so patient and kind. They have really supported my child these last two and a half years and her development has come on leaps and bounds. Family and friends have also noticed how advanced she is for her age. My daughter is thriving in this setting. I think the nursery are doing a brilliant job. The staff are helpful, supportive and informative and are an asset to Clever Clogs. It is so lovely to hear what my child has been up to and seeing her confidence and development grow. My child arrives at nursery excited and leaves nursery excited. Highly recommend Clever Clogs Day Nursery.

Clever Clogs Day Nursery was always my first choice of childcare for my daughter after such a positive learning environment that they created with my nieces and nephew who also attended the nursery over the years.
My daughter has been at the nursery for over one year now and loves her days there.
She is always having fun and learning new things in a friendly environment. All of the staff are excellent and provide a happy and warm, welcoming feeling.
I am actually a little bit upset that my daughter is starting school in September as we will miss the nursery family! We will just look forward to our youngest starting in a few years' time to be back!

I cannot fault Clever Clogs Day Nursery - the staff are extremely caring and diligent and the communication and collaboration with parents is impeccable. Having switched to Clever Clogs from another provider, I wouldn't dream of sending my child anywhere else.

The nursery is absolutely wonderful and is allowing my son to flourish. The staff genuinely care about the children and my son is absolutely delighted to be there when he is dropped off. I can't rate the nursery highly enough for the developments my son has made in such a short space of time through

My daughter loves this nursery, my son used to go here too. The staff are so friendly and helpful, they have amazing bonds with the children. My daughter adores her nursery ladies because they do such fun things. They always have fun activities to do each day, nothing is ever a problem to the staff
when I have issues. My daughter has food allergies but this has never caused them a problem. My daughter has never had a problem with the food, never having a reaction while in the nursery's care. Highly recommended.

To pick up our grandson from Clever Clogs Day Nursery (Bowburn) is always a good experience. The staff greet you with ready smiles and are pleased to see you. They are able to tell us about our grandson's day. The centre is clean, welcoming with rooms set out with plenty of challenges for growing children.
Our grandson is always pleased to go and is a well-balanced child which will see him transfer to infant school with ease.

A wonderful nursery with lovely staff. I always feel happy leaving my 11-month-old daughter as I know she will receive the best care at nursery. She is always happy to go with the staff and happy to see them when I drop her off.

The staff at Clever Clogs Day Nursery have built great, personal relationships with my little girl. She has been attending for the last two years and isn't always the easiest to deal with but with patience and skill they have managed to bring her around and she is now happy and smiley at the end of
each session, excited to tell me what she has been up to that day.

We are very impressed with Clever Clogs. They have made going back to work after maternity leave a lot easier. I feel so reassured that my daughter is in such a happy and caring environment. "I gained my NNEB in 1994, and following that, I worked as a Nanny in a private home. I then went on to work in a Nursery when I relocated to the North East, progressing from practitioner, to room lead and then Deputy Manager. I gained my Foundation Degree in Education and Care in 2008. In 2023 I came to Clever Clogs as Deputy Manager and in June 2024 started to work as the Manager. I love to watch children learn and explore their environment. I particularly enjoy working with children in the outdoors and learning about mini-beasts and team building.


In my spare time, I spend with my family walking our dog.

I have a qualification in Early Years Childhood studies with 9 years experience. I enjoy seeing the children learn and thrive through the activities and provisions we create.


In my spare time, I enjoy visiting my two nieces and walking the dogs with my parents and boyfriend.

I have my qualification in Early years which I gained in 2013. I came to Clever Clogs in 2016 where I am now working in Clever Thinkers and the senior in our Fun Club. I am passionate about SEN and qualified as SENCO in 2020. I enjoy watching the children in my care grow and develop and like to provide exciting opportunities for them to explore.


In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family.
