The nursery has been absolutely amazing with both of my children. The oldest has now left but their advice, support and care have been unexpected and so appreciated. My youngest lights up every morning walking in which just shows how much he loves it. The place feels like family and I'm not sure how
I would have managed without them.

Outstanding nursery, all my three children have been to Castle Nurseries at Dunstanburgh Road. My own experience with them has been amazing, the staff are so welcoming, evidenced by their social skills to their vocabulary which has improved a lot since they started going to this wonderful place. I can't
praise all the ladies enough for all their work with all of my children.

My daughter has blossomed at Castle Nurseries at Dunstanburgh Road Day Nursery. She has grown up in this setting and we both have made strong connections with the staff, management and other children. With their support and guidance, she has met or exceeded all her development milestones and I've certainly
learned a few things too! All the staff are lovely, caring individuals. The food is great quality, the building is safe and welcoming. To be even better, parents could have online access to their child's learning journey but the team are very good at updating from day to day.

My daughter has been attending for just over a year. When she first arrived, she could only say two words and with the help of the workers, she can now say a wide range of words and sentences. She has had very low confidence and she is now coming out a great deal with her confidence. The staff are friendly,
helpful and polite with everything they do. I could not recommend a better place for my little girl to go, it's amazing.

My experience with Dunstanburgh Day Nursery, all staff is friendly and really helpful with everything. Really caring with the children. My granddaughter loves the nursery, has lots of friends, and a good bond with the keyworkers, head staff, and even kitchen staff. They really bring children on with
their love and care and learning. Maybe it could have more facilities outside for 3/4-year-olds but overall everything is good, no problems.

The girls are excellent. My daughter befriended them very quickly. They teach her a lot of new things and she is not so shy anymore. The place is clean. My daughter likes most of the food. Management always has time to talk to me about any concerns. Facilities could use an injection of fresh cash. More
learning materials, more modern doors, and gates, improvements in the outside play area but the staff is managing to play with kids with what they have, bless them! An overall lovely and safe place for my child. I am happy for my child to be here.

Our daughter has a great experience. She always comes home telling us about the variety of indoor and outdoor activities she has taken part in. Our daughter's skills have developed since coming to nursery in many ways, with new stories and songs, learning to share and learning letters and numbers. The
team is always full of praise and it is clear our daughter respects and loves the team. We have already recommended Dunstanburgh to a friend who now sends her son here too.

Dunstanburgh Day Nursery welcomed my daughter in September 2019 and since then she has gained so much confidence and gained so much in skills. Can't fault them at all. The best decision made sending her to the nursery. 10/10 for everything.

Current Review Score: 8.1 (8.093)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.1 (8.093) out of 10 for Castle Nurseries at Dunstanburgh Road is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.1 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Castle Nurseries at Dunstanburgh Road is calculated as follows: ( (12 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.093 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Castle Nurseries at Dunstanburgh Road is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 54 number of registered child places is 10.8. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.8 = 0.093
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
