Situated all at ground level with 4 large play rooms and a rear garden with a farm right next door, Orchard Trees Day Nursery is the ideal location for children to grow and learn. The spacious play areas dedicated for each age group create a calming and homely environment in which every child feel safe, secure and eager to explore.

The highly qualified Early Years educators support each child sensitively to ensure that they meet their full potential and develop a keen appetite for learning. Our son started at Orchard Trees in April 2023 in the baby owls group and has since moved into the little owls group after turning 2. He has been absolutely thriving since starting there and always looks forward to going now. He was quite apprehensive when he first started last year, and we had a lot
of tears at handover, but the staff have been absolutely wonderful with him and have really taken the time to get to know him and help him settle in which has been lovely to see. He always talks about nursery at home now and all the friends he's made there. The setting is quite small and I think this makes such a big difference as it's never overcrowded and the staff have plenty of time to give each individual child the attention they require. There are always different activities being planned and the selection of food they serve is fantastic and always sounds so delicious. Highly recommend anyone considering this nursery.

Very positive experience. My child is excited to arrive in the morning. He enjoys the food and activities, and especially the outside space.
Staff seem to know my child well and follow his interests.
Management has been very flexible when we've needed to change days/extra days.

Orchard Trees is an outstanding nursery in every way. We are so happy with how our boy is learning and developing, and he has so much fun, he never wants to come home when we pick him up!

Our little girl has been at Orchard Trees (baby owls) since she was 9 months old. We were so nervous about starting her so young, but she loved it from day one, and now approaching two years old, she still runs in every morning. She has developed excellent relationships with the staff, and she often
chatters away using their names when she's playing at home. Our little girl also has allergies, and the setting has been incredible at still including our little girl when they do fun activities that include baking. We would highly recommend Orchard Trees as a lovely welcoming, family-orientated setting.

Excellent nursery! The staff are exceptional at what they do, and my child has thrived at this nursery. He has been there since he was a baby and will be starting school in September. He is so far along with his development and really ready for school, and this is all due to the hard work of the staff

I am absolutely happy with Orchard Tree Day Nursery. I initially was a bit nervous about how my little boy would react and behave, however, the magnificent facilities, splendid staff teaching the owls and the extraordinary atmosphere, made us feel safe and thankful. Undoubtedly recommended.

We love Orchard Trees. It's such a relaxed and friendly setting, and the staff are all lovely. My three-year-old never wants to leave on an evening, and my one-year-old has settled really quickly since recently starting. It's a really flexible nursery - they always seem to be able to accommodate my
last-minute changes with late finishes/early starts or the odd extra day, and we love that we can have a term time-only contract. The food is also exceptional - there is always something different on the menu. I'd recommend this nursery to everyone.

Orchard Trees is an excellent nursery! They have created a lovely, relaxed environment with a very welcoming, homely feel.
The food is outstanding, and my little boy tries all sorts of interesting foods, and the children get involved in helping with the small kitchen garden.
My little boy never
complains about having to go to nursery, and I generally have to persuade him to come home at the end of the day.

We moved our children to Orchard Trees about six months ago. We were really nervous as to whether our eldest would settle as he struggled after lockdown at his previous setting. However, we have been so pleased with how well they have settled, and they are thriving. Every staff member you meet is fantastic
and really personable. As this is a smaller setting, there is a real family feel and a very tailored approach to each child’s needs. Lots of fantastic activities and great communication about the children’s daily routine and learning journey. The nursery also goes over and above with numerous special events, such as a tea party for Mother’s Day, a coronation party and a school starters information evening. I would definitely recommend Orchard Trees.

We started our little girl at Orchard Trees (baby owls) at the start of the year. And both my wife and I couldn't be happier. The staff are amazing and have been great with her. We naturally worried about how she would be starting out, and we didn't need to worry; they have and still do everything they
can to make her have the best time during her days.
What's also helped is how good the staff are at keeping us updated throughout the day and also when we pick her up at the end of the day.
They spend lots of time doing extra activities like visiting the farm next door, and our little girl has come on so much since going.
We'd highly recommend Orchard Trees Day Nursery.

The nursery and staff are excellent. They are very helpful and supportive of any needs of the children and parents. I find the hours very good as they are open from early morning and offer later closing times. It has nicely decorated rooms, and the garden is very nice with lots of games. My child loves
it there and enjoys every minute of it.

What a gem of a find!
I returned to work in March after being made redundant due to lockdown and found myself stuck for the Easter holidays at short notice after my local nursery holiday club was shut down. I was tagged in a Facebook post for Orchard Trees, and at first thought, it sounded great but
would be out of my way; however, it turns out it is a lovely drive out on a morning and almost exactly halfway between home and work.
Set on the outskirts of the village, the nursery and holiday club are on the grounds of a farm.
All ladies are always smiley and friendly. The groups are not overcrowded, and there are always activities going on, so never a dull moment. The addition of their own minibus to go on trips or to the local park is brilliant.
Unlike most clubs, dinner can be provided as well as tea for a very reasonable supplement on top of the already fairly priced daily rate, which includes breakfast and snacks.
An amazing setting. I couldn't ask for more.

Lovely nursery with wonderful staff. Both my children go to Orchard Trees and they love it. The staff clearly care for the children and there is a good range of learning activities for them. Our daughter started attending Orchard Trees back in April at 10 months old, two days a week. She has settled in so well and that's down to the hard work and commitment of the staff. It always seems like a lovely, warm environment when we drop her off/collect her and we know our daughter is very well
cared for. We love the communication via the app, the varied menu they provide and the whole ethos of the nursery. We're so pleased we chose Orchard Trees!

Orchard Trees have been amazing with our 3 year old daughter. She’s been attending since she was just over a year and the relationships she’s built with staff ate lovely. She’s come on loads in terms of her speech and development, comes home having learnt something new each day. I don’t have to worry
about her at all and get lovely updates and photos throughout the day. The meals are cooked from scratch and I know when she’s there she’s being well looked after. They have a lovely outdoor space and spend most of the time outside which I love. I think she prefers being at nursery to anywhere else!

I have used Orchard Trees for both of my sons and have been happy with the standard of care. Staff are friendly and approachable and seem genuinely interested in the children and their development. The menu provided is varied, healthy and fresh. I would recommend this nursery to friends and family if
they are looking for a smaller, caring nursery. It may not have all the facilities of other larger nurseries, but I think the price reflects this.

My 9-year-old boy loved his holiday club sessions.
Activities are planned in advance, so we could cherry-pick days featuring things he'd enjoy like baking or den building.
Activities were flexibility delivered to suit the weather and individual children's preferences.
He's asked me to plan another
day to go as if it were a treat attending!
Also, really good value for money.

My two-year-old son joined Orchard Trees eight months ago and is thoroughly enjoying his experience. We receive regular updates on his activities, and the team are always very welcoming when we want to discuss his progress. He has developed bonds with staff members and enjoys engaging with the other
children. I’m extremely grateful that he has been able to continue his experience, safely and comfortably during the pandemic due to the hard work and commitment of the Orchard Trees team!
They offer an ethos that I struggled to find in any other local setting, and I am confident my child will continue to develop and grow during his time at Orchard Trees.

Beautiful nursery, clear attention to detail such as materials used, space, natural light and not cluttered. Great to see a nursery with clear Covid risk assessments and good infection control procedures in place. EYFS explained and implemented. Such friendly staff in a perfect location.

Lindsay Oates

Job Title: Director Joined: 2017

Lindsay joined the original Orchard Trees family all the way back in 2010! She eventually became manager in 2014 and in 2017 had the fantastic opportunity to take over the reins.


Orchard Trees Day Nursery as we know it today is independently owned and managed by Lindsay, with support from her fantastic team.


Lindsay has 14 years experience working as a key worker in nurseries and holds a Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies. She is currently studying part time for a forensic psychology degree.
