Situated all at ground level with 4 large play rooms and a rear garden with a farm right next door, Orchard Trees Day Nursery is the ideal location for children to grow and learn. The spacious play areas dedicated for each age group create a calming and homely environment in which every child feel safe, secure and eager to explore.

We started our little girl at Orchard Trees (baby owls) at the start of the year. And both my wife and I couldn't be happier. The staff are amazing and have been great with her. We naturally worried about how she would be starting out, and we didn't need to worry; they have and still do everything they
can to make her have the best time during her days.
What's also helped is how good the staff are at keeping us updated throughout the day and also when we pick her up at the end of the day.
They spend lots of time doing extra activities like visiting the farm next door, and our little girl has come on so much since going.
We'd highly recommend Orchard Trees Day Nursery.

The nursery and staff are excellent. They are very helpful and supportive of any needs of the children and parents. I find the hours very good as they are open from early morning and offer later closing times. It has nicely decorated rooms, and the garden is very nice with lots of games. My child loves
it there and enjoys every minute of it.

What a gem of a find!
I returned to work in March after being made redundant due to lockdown and found myself stuck for the Easter holidays at short notice after my local nursery holiday club was shut down. I was tagged in a Facebook post for Orchard Trees, and at first thought, it sounded great but
would be out of my way; however, it turns out it is a lovely drive out on a morning and almost exactly halfway between home and work.
Set on the outskirts of the village, the nursery and holiday club are on the grounds of a farm.
All ladies are always smiley and friendly. The groups are not overcrowded, and there are always activities going on, so never a dull moment. The addition of their own minibus to go on trips or to the local park is brilliant.
Unlike most clubs, dinner can be provided as well as tea for a very reasonable supplement on top of the already fairly priced daily rate, which includes breakfast and snacks.
An amazing setting. I couldn't ask for more.

My son absolutely loves it at Orchard Trees. The staff are caring, professional, friendly and very welcoming. The nursery puts the children at the heart of everything they do. Lovely nursery with wonderful staff. Both my children go to Orchard Trees and they love it. The staff clearly care for the children and there is a good range of learning activities for them. The support we have been provided by the nursery in preparing our eldest child for school has been excellent.

Our daughter started attending Orchard Trees back in April at 10 months old, two days a week. She has settled in so well and that's down to the hard work and commitment of the staff. It always seems like a lovely, warm environment when we drop her off/collect her and we know our daughter is very well
cared for. We love the communication via the app, the varied menu they provide and the whole ethos of the nursery. We're so pleased we chose Orchard Trees!

Orchard Trees have been amazing with our 3 year old daughter. She’s been attending since she was just over a year and the relationships she’s built with staff ate lovely. She’s come on loads in terms of her speech and development, comes home having learnt something new each day. I don’t have to worry
about her at all and get lovely updates and photos throughout the day. The meals are cooked from scratch and I know when she’s there she’s being well looked after. They have a lovely outdoor space and spend most of the time outside which I love. I think she prefers being at nursery to anywhere else!

I have used Orchard Trees for both of my sons and have been happy with the standard of care. Staff are friendly and approachable and seem genuinely interested in the children and their development. The menu provided is varied, healthy and fresh. I would recommend this nursery to friends and family if
they are looking for a smaller, caring nursery. It may not have all the facilities of other larger nurseries, but I think the price reflects this.

My 9-year-old boy loved his holiday club sessions.
Activities are planned in advance, so we could cherry-pick days featuring things he'd enjoy like baking or den building.
Activities were flexibility delivered to suit the weather and individual children's preferences.
He's asked me to plan another
day to go as if it were a treat attending!
Also, really good value for money.

My two-year-old son joined Orchard Trees eight months ago and is thoroughly enjoying his experience. We receive regular updates on his activities, and the team are always very welcoming when we want to discuss his progress. He has developed bonds with staff members and enjoys engaging with the other
children. I’m extremely grateful that he has been able to continue his experience, safely and comfortably during the pandemic due to the hard work and commitment of the Orchard Trees team!
They offer an ethos that I struggled to find in any other local setting, and I am confident my child will continue to develop and grow during his time at Orchard Trees.

Beautiful nursery, clear attention to detail such as materials used, space, natural light and not cluttered. Great to see a nursery with clear Covid risk assessments and good infection control procedures in place. EYFS explained and implemented. Such friendly staff in a perfect location.

I currently have my 2nd child at Orchard Trees, they are so helpful and knowledgeable. Both my children have been excited to go to Orchard Trees for the day and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. They have been so helpful when I have had emergencies and the most important part I think, is that
they actually listen to me and are willing to adapt if needs be.

My daughter started at Orchard Trees at 6 months old and loved it immediately, the ladies were so welcoming and caring, I knew she was in safe hands. She’s now 2 and in the toddler room and comes home every day excited to tell us about everything she has done. I love the app which the staff use to update
us about her day, we get regular photos and can check in throughout the day to see if she has eaten etc. The food sounds amazing too and very healthy and I’m sure that having nursery meals as a baby has helped turn her into a very adventurous eater! I couldn’t be happier, nursery has definitely helped her development, she seems to learn something new every day.

My little boy loves attending Orchard Trees Day Nursery. He had a wonderful nurturing time in Little Owls (aged 1-3) where he built fantastic relationships with his lovely key workers. He is now in ‘Wise Owls’ and is thriving. He loves all the open-ended activities they set up and I really appreciate
the endless patience they have for messy play, creativity and their commitment to spending lots of time outdoors. The staff are always enthusiastic and welcoming and he goes into nursery happy every time. My son is a real chatterbox and they have all supported and encouraged him in his language development. They have also embraced his love of stories and he’s read lots of new books with them that he can now recite at home too! I feel assured that he is well cared for, safe and secure and is given lots of opportunities to develop socially, emotionally and physically.

I've been using Orchard Trees for over 6 years, from when my eldest was around 18 months and my youngest has been going from 8 months. I honestly couldn't be happier with their care, everyone is so friendly and approachable. The children love going, they have so much fun they don't realise they're learning
too.
The longer opening hours really help with the hours I work and they were very accommodating around my shift pattern too.
The school drop off, pick up service is great and the holiday club is brilliant with access to the playing field and lots of different activities each day. Can't recommend them enough!

Our 3-year-old girl started at Orchard Trees a couple of months ago and we’ve been impressed by the open communication and understanding of the staff looking after her. She struggles to separate from family and has always preferred to be at home, however, she lights up when she talks about nursery activities
and staff!
We’ll be increasing her hours from September and feel confident she’ll have a brilliant preschool year.

My daughter attends Orchard Trees Day Nursery. My daughter cannot wait to go to nursery, the facilities are amazing, the staff are brilliant and go out of their way with the children. The food is homemade on site. I witnessed my daughter eating mackerel pate which she ate and loved which did surprise
me. I do feel this is a brilliant way for children to learn about food. I would highly recommend this nursery and also the after-school club excellent for after school and the school holidays.

My child (now 3) has been going to Orchard Trees since she was just a year old. Our main reason for choosing Orchard Trees was their opening hours - it is the only nursery I know of that opens as early as 07:00 and stays open as late as 18:30 - great for those of us who work shifts! In addition to this,
the manager has been incredibly flexible allowing us to vary our days from week to week depending on our rota! Orchard Trees affords us the ability to leave our child (for 11.5 hours at a time) safe in the knowledge that she is happy and well cared for! I would gladly recommend Orchard Trees to anyone looking for a childcare setting for their little ones!

My son has been attending Orchard Trees for over 2 years and absolutely loves it. The staff are fantastic and really take the time to get to know the children, using their current interests in order to stimulate learning. Children are allocated a key worker who tracks and plans their development and
it is possible to arrange a meeting whenever you would like one. Each child has a learning journey book that tracks their activities; it's great to take home and read through the anecdotes to see what they have been up to. Communication is always great, the nursery uses an app which sends out messages and photos showing you what the children have been doing. Additionally, the nursery is really flexible (open 7-6.30) and has been really accommodating in allowing me to change hours due to the fact I am currently on maternity leave. My youngest son will be starting in March and I have absolutely no concerns about him starting and becoming a 'baby owl' (name for baby room!).

We love Orchard Trees!!! Our son absolutely loves all the staff and they have been such a great support to us over the past year. Our son has come on leaps and bounds with his development since being here and we are really proud of how excited he is to tell us about his day when we pick him up. The
food is also wonderful and he has something different every day, allowing him to try lots of flavours and grow as a little person with tastes and experiences. We would recommend the nursery to anyone!

Lindsay Oates

Job Title: Director Joined: 2017

Lindsay joined the original Orchard Trees family all the way back in 2010! She eventually became manager in 2014 and in 2017 had the fantastic opportunity to take over the reins.


Orchard Trees Day Nursery as we know it today is independently owned and managed by Lindsay, with support from her fantastic team.


Lindsay has 14 years experience working as a key worker in nurseries and holds a Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies. She is currently studying part time for a forensic psychology degree.
