My two children aged 2 and 4-years were both very happy throughout their time in this nursery. They were very well cared for by friendly, compassionate staff and always enjoyed their days. They developed socially and emotionally from their interactions in the nursery and had great fun taking part in
a huge array of daily activities in the classroom, including painting, outdoor play, water play and sensory room exploration.
As a parent, I found the long queues outside of the nursery for collection and pick-ups difficult. I feel the collection/drop-off system could be better managed to allow parents some time to interact with carers and reduce unnecessary waiting, but I know my kids were very happy here, and I would have no hesitation in recommending this nursery to other parents. We are only leaving due to a change in job location.

My little one started here after her other nursery had to shut. At first, I was worried about how she was going to cope after being settled somewhere else for such a long time. I shouldn't have worried - this nursery is fantastic. The workers are all so kind, supportive and attentive to my child's needs.
They regularly keep me informed and communicate well with me as a parent. My child has had a lovely time at this nursery, and thanks to them, she will be ready to start school.

Really, really happy with everything the nursery does. My one gripe is the continuing need to wait in a queue for the kids to be bought down one by one at pick up, apart from that, everything else (communication, standard of care, learning, facilities, the activities the kids do, etc) is top-notch.

Our son was only at the nursery for a short amount of time, unfortunately. We had to move him due to a change in job location. I only have good things to say about the nursery and the staff that we encountered. Our son loved going there each morning; the staff were really responsive, and you could tell
they genuinely care. I would definitely recommend!

We have used Sunshine Day Nursery since 2014, up until August 2021, and both of my sons have attended. They were both very happy here, with the enthusiastic and hard-working team. I felt completely confident that they were safe, happy, nurtured and getting a good grounding for their education. It has
always been very reliable too. The nursery has been really supportive to our whole family through difficult times, and I'm grateful for the care and input from all members of the team. We were sad to say goodbye to everyone. Thank you.

Both of my daughters currently attend the nursery, and the oldest has been there since 2018. The staff are wonderful. They have been so caring at all stages of development, and there are so many activities and themed days for the kids. If I had another child, I would definitely be applying for another
space!

My son has attended Sunshine Day Nursery since he was 10-months and is now leaving to start his school journey. Before deciding on a nursery, I visited Sunshine as well as another nursery that had been assessed by Ofsted as 'Outstanding' nearer my home. I chose Sunshine Day Nursery because, on my initial
visit, I witnessed staff caring for the young children in their care as if they were their own children. Different parents, will, of course, have different parenting styles and preferences, but what I needed to know when leaving my young child with unknown people, was that they would provide him with the comfort and security to emotionally manage such a significant change. Not only did my son settle into nursery quickly, but I also settled into being back at work quickly because the staff supported us both through the transition. He is now four and a half and still has a great time at nursery. I'm so glad we chose Sunshine. Thank you to all the staff in Snowdrops, Buttercups, Preschool and 'the office'!

Our daughter has attended nursery since she was 9-months-old. Over this time, she has grown to love it and has a bond with all the staff and her classmates. The nursery team have given us regular updates on her progress and have been friendly and approachable. The parking is convenient for pick up and
drop-offs, and we have been reassured by the policies they have put in place during the pandemic.

Staff has always been friendly and helpful. My daughter loved going to nursery and enjoyed making friends. She always spoke highly about the staff in her class. They always had many activities to do and she was always happy to bring them home to share it with us. She was always encouraged to write and
she's also picked up most of her phonics just in time for the next stage in school.

Our child is non-verbal autistic with unique care needs. Right away at Sunshine Day Nursery, we were met with a welcoming atmosphere and staff who were only too willing to go the extra mile to ensure our sensitive child felt safe, accepted and loved.

Once settled in, our little one has eagerly bounced

into nursery every morning and come home happy. The staff as a whole, but especially key workers, have been flexible enough to adapt to a lot of "self-direction" while actively encouraging development and growth - without once trying to force our child to engage with the curriculum. Meanwhile, the Senco was tireless in pursuit of our wish to apply for a care plan, gathering evidence and setting everything in motion.

If our child (following this deferral year) is able to join the mainstream school in September, it will be in no small part thanks to the wonderful team at Sunshine, and it is a genuine pleasure to have this opportunity to recommend them in the highest possible terms.

Our son has attended the nursery since September 2020, and we are absolutely delighted with how he has come on since being there. I made the nursery aware from the beginning that he was under SALT for a speech delay, and they (particularly his key worker and nursery SENCO) have been working brilliantly
with SALT, following all the advice given. They suggested my son be referred for an autism assessment and have also further supported us with referrals to the 0-5 SEND service and currently a MyPlan. They also helped us with a DLA application, which in turn, meant that we could put my son into nursery longer. My son gets so excited about going to nursery, and he is starting to gain more confidence. He enjoys activities such as drawing, and he loves it when they take him to the sensory room. We have definitely seen a positive change in him since starting nursery, and I am sure he will continue to thrive there. The staff are friendly, and it has a lovely atmosphere. 100% recommend.

My children (3 years daughter, and 6 months son) have enjoyed their days at the nursery very much. I am so happy from the services provided by the nursery, including the variety of activities, the food choices, the cleanliness, the safety concern, etc. I hugely appreciate all the staff's efforts.

Both my sons love Sunshine Day Nursery. They are always happy to go and the staff are always friendly. They kept tirelessly working throughout the pandemic and don't close (except bank holidays and weekends), which makes it really convenient to arrange care around holiday periods.

My daughter loved this nursery. She's always happy to go there and full of stories when she gets back. She learnt a lot from them and did a lot of activities too. It's a shame that she missed a lot of time due to the pandemic but I think the nursery is doing a great job. We'd like to thank my daughter's
favourite for all her help.

Brilliant! We could not have asked for better. The care offered is second to none. Our son has been so happy here for 3 and a half years. The team engage in stimulating, educational activities and are very loving and caring so that the children are happy, delighted to go to nursery/preschool and create
wonderful friendships. Our son loves all the aunties and has learnt and developed into a little confident boy who along with his friends, is now ready for school. Thank you.

My son attended Sunshine Day Nursery from the age of ten months until he started school this September. The nursery were fantastic with him from day one! The facilities for learning, as well as play, are fantastic and he had plenty of opportunities to get stuck into messy play and experiments that just
wouldn't have been possible at home. Activities were regularly tailored to his interests and he was encouraged to try new things also.
His food allergies were never a problem for the team and I never worried about him being left out because of them. He made some fab little friends during his time at Sunshine and I'm sure the social skills he acquired there will help him forge more friendships at school.
I have no doubt that my son being the lovely, happy and confident little boy is now is thanks in great part to the team at Sunshine. Thank you all!

My 2nd child is presently in this nursery. He loves going and is always well looked after and enjoys all the activities they do. My eldest attended from 10 months to school. The nursery set him up ready to start his new adventure. He too loved going and still has fond memories of being there.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (9.034)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (9.034) out of 10 for Sunshine Day Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.821 for Sunshine Day Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (87 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 106 Ratings = 4.821
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.213 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Sunshine Day Nursery is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 144 number of registered child places is 28.8. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 28.8 = 0.313
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
