Little Achievers Day Nursery is a Rosy Apple Childcare facility that has built up a strong reputation within the local community for quality early years learning and childcare in which parents can feel confident and secure.

Little Achievers Day Nursery uses the Reggio Emilia Approach to Early Years Childcare and Education, a philosophy that uses four key principles to focus on a child's natural development. The approach is both child-centred and directed, taking the philosophy that learning must make sense to the child in order to be effective and meaningful.

Little Achievers Day Nursery is registered for eighty-two children in total and has purposely designed outdoor spaces. Each child has their own key carer who looks to ensure early years’ potential is achieved. The nursery is split into 3 age ranges however the rooms can flow easily to aid transition for children when moving to new groups.

The nursery was awarded the E-quality Counts award by the National Day Nurseries Association in August 2015.

Learning journeys for all children are offered both to see the progress their child is making at nursery via photographs, written comments and communication, along with being a beautiful portfolio of memories for the future.

All nursery pre-school children are able to access forest school at Little Achievers Urban Forest School Nursery, within their timetable of nursery attendance.

Little Achievers Day nursery is situated in Ribbleton Preston, with close links to the M6. The nursery is open from 7.30 to 6pm daily for 51 weeks per year and take children from birth. The nursery accepts funded places for 2, 3 and 4 year olds; this includes 30 hours. These hours can be used either term time or spread over 51 weeks whilst the nursery is open. The nursery is situated in a single storey building with wheelchair access.

My son started nursery at the age of 6months. He was a very attached child and did not live to leave his familiar environment. The team at Little Achievers were amazing at making both my son and us parents at ease.
He thrived within weeks and has grown into a confident young boy.

Both my daughters love coming to nursery, and are always smiling and happy when being dropped off. All the staff are brilliant and take the time to know each child and are always welcoming. The activities are fab and there's always something different going on.

My child has loved her 2 years at Little Achievers Nursery.
She has come on so much since starting and she has learnt a lot.
All the staff in the preschool room that have worked with her have been amazing, all super friendly and I would recommend this nursery to anybody.

The children have lots of things to play with, they go on trips - zoo, parks, there are educational things to do and they made cards and things at easter, Christmas. The staff are very friendly and caring. The children are treated as individuals and have access to age appropriate toys. It is a safe

Great nursery, lovely staff. All the kids seem happy, my grandaughter loves it and so did her sister.
They do lots of things with the kids, taking them on outings, teaching them loads. The nursery is clean and well looked after.

My duaghter was starting to come to this nursery was scared about everything but the staff were great and comforting and gave her a cuddle when I was leaving. She likes to come here and I've never heard her saying that she does not want to come. When she comes home she tells me what she did during the
day.
Says she likes the days when she was baking cakes and painting some pictures.
The chef is very friendly and forthcoming if I have a question or query. I am glad that my daughter comes here because I can see that she enjoys it.

Was sceptical about sending my daughter to nursery at a young age, but so glad I did eventually. Amazing staff and she’s come on loads educationally and as a person. She’s due to attend school in September and I feel she’s more than ready for it thanks to the nursery.

Emma Burnside

Job Title: Nursery Lead Joined: 2001

Emma Burnside is the Lead Professional of Little Achievers Day nursery, at the age of 17 Emma started her childcare training at college, going on to do an apprenticeship in the private day nursery sector, following this Emma went on to complete her level 3 and 5, her H certificate and her Early Years Professional Status. Emma has worked in childcare for almost 20 years 10 of which she has spent managing Little Achievers Day Nursery. Emma loves to help children develop in to amazing young people, loves her role as manager and being able to support parents and children in their everyday lives, Emma has a keen interest in children’s mental health.
