Kids Planet Bluebell Lodge provides high-quality childcare and early years education in two detached, single-storey buildings in a residential area of Blackpool, this nursery is also Udeskole accredited.

The nursery was established in 1990 and features an extensive outdoor area and well-resourced indoor rooms. The rooms have been carefully planned and equipped to maximise children's enjoyment of playing and learning.

The nursery provides a safe and secure environment for children and strives to enable each child in their care to reach their potential.

Our little boy started here in September and absolutely loves going each week. He only attends once a week but settled in so easily from the start and has built such strong relationships with his key workers and all the staff. He is always excited to go in the mornings and doesn't want to leave at the
end of the day, even when he is the last little one left! It is clear that the staff really care about the children and are focused on supporting the children to grow and learn in a caring environment. We also really enjoy that they take the time to arrange events for special occasions like Christmas and Halloween and get families involved. We are very happy with our nursery choice and would recommend it to everyone.

My 3rd child is now at Bluebell Lodge and enjoys it. I've had a child here since 2018 and have always had positive experiences throughout. The staff are great as are the facilities. Highly recommend it.

My daughter and I have had an amazing experience at Bluebell Lodge since she started in September at 9 months old. She has come on leaps and bounds since the start. All the staff are so friendly and make such an effort with every child whether the children are in their class or not. My daughter is always
happy to go to nursery and doesn't want to come home some days as she enjoys it so much. She is always fed nutritious meals and there is always an activity that suits what she enjoys. My daughter isn't a fan of messy play and the staff never 'make' her get involved and will find something else for her to do. The lady in the baby room has been exceptional with my daughter and we honestly couldn't thank her or the staff for everything they do. Highly recommended!

Brilliant nursery. Staff are on hand and committed to caring for our children. Always focusing things on what the children are interested in and ensuring they are happy, my children love it here and have come on leaps and bounds.

My daughter has been attending Bluebell Lodge Nursery since she was a baby and she has progressed in so many ways and a lot of that is down to how the nursery let her express herself, let her communicate with how she feels, accommodates what she needs to help build her confidence and keeps us updated
on her day every day to give us reassurance that she is happy.
The staff in each room from babies through to preschool have built such a lovely relationship with our little girl, I would happily recommend the nursery to anyone as they really make a difference to a child’s upbringing.

Just the loveliest, friendliest nursery. So lucky to have gotten a place and have my baby there in the baby room. The staff couldn’t do enough for us and every pick up and drop off was so tailored and thoughtful.

My daughter attends Bluebell in the baby's room and is now a toddler. Cannot fault the nursery at all. The staff in both settings are lovely and caring and care for each child in their care. The manager was the manager at my eldest daughter’s nursery and was one of the main reasons for selecting Bluebell.
She is friendly, and knowledgeable and knows every child within the setting, as well as their parents. Lovely nursery setting.

Fantastic nursery and amazing staff! Everyone is so welcoming and friendly and they go out of their way to ensure your child’s needs are met. Our little boy joined in October 2023 and has come on leaps and bounds since joining. Super clean and the garden space is fantastic! Would highly recommend it!

My little boy loves nursery days, he recently moved into the toddler room and has built a lovely relationship with all the ladies in there! He used to get upset in the morning going in but now he’s in the room and sat down having his breakfast before Dad has even had a chance to put his coat on his
peg. Staff are 10/10, really informative, kind and helpful. The nursery setting is also a lovely environment, lots for the kids to do and learn.

My daughter started nursery here in October 2023, I cannot recommend it enough! Their staff are absolutely outstanding, my little one has learned so much and come so far within such a short time. From crying when first started to now walking in excited to start her day, they also keep you updated and
send pictures throughout the day. It’s honestly the most amazing nursery. Thank you to all staff for the amazing care and learning they provide.

My son absolutely loves his nursery, he can’t wait to get back again once he’s left. All the staff are very friendly, caring, helpful and always update you on your child’s day. There’s so much for kids to do, my son’s favourite is the big garden. My child’s confidence has gotten better and his speech
since he started nursery just over a year ago, plenty of friends made too. Glad I chose this nursery for my son.

Everyone at the nursery is amazing and friendly.
Very accommodating nursery in every way.
My 8-year-old went to this nursery and now my 2-year-old attends.
My 2-year-old is very challenging, he has severe eczema and multiple allergies. They apply his cream multiple times a day and ensure he is safe
in regards to his allergies. The cook is also amazing in terms of providing him fresh safe meals daily.
I can leave my son and know he will be safe, learn and have lots of fun. The staff look after each child as if they were one of their own.
I recommend this nursery to everyone.

Amazing care and learning experiences for my son, the staff go out of their way to make the children happy and ensure they have the best experience at nursery every day.

The staff at Bluebell Lodge were amazing over the years my son was there. They provided fantastic support not only to my son but also to us as his parents through the difficult process of getting my son into the correct school in relation to his SEN but also the amazing work they did with him throughout
his time there.
All staff are warm and welcoming, and you can tell how much they love all the children who walk through the door.
As much as my son is doing amazingly at school, I still miss him being at Bluebell.
Honestly cannot recommend this nursery enough.

My daughter joined Bluebell's baby room in 2023 and is now in the toddler room.
I could not ask for a better nursery for her! The staff are absolutely incredible and she runs in every morning with a big smile on her face ready to spend the day with her friends!
They are always busy doing fun and educational
activities whether it be painting in the toddler room, playing in the nursery grounds or visiting the local shops and library!

My little girl has been going to Bluebell Lodge since July 2022, she has come on leaps and bounds! I love hearing about her day and what adventures she has been on. The fact that she is being taught phonics now to get her used to a school setting, I think is brilliant, she's using numbers more and more.
We
love story time and talking about the book we have read, I also know nursery implement this too.
I'm kept up to date with her day via the app.
It is definitely one of the best, if not the best, nursery in the area. If I could keep my little girl there forever I sure would.

Although my child sometimes gets upset going into class in the morning she has always got the biggest smile on her face when I pick her up. She enjoys all the activities and feels comfortable with all the teachers. I feel happy and at ease knowing my child is safe and happy when she is there.

Nicole Trafford

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2014

My name is Nicole Trafford. I have worked at Bluebell Lodge since May 2014, in that time I have worked my way up from Early Years Practitioner to Room Leader, Third in Charge, and Deputy Manager and I have finally achieved my goal of becoming a Nursery Manager in December 2024.


I have a BA Hons in Family Support and Wellbeing as well as a Level 3 in Early Years.
I have a little girl called Forrest, who also attends Bluebell Lodge Nursery, so I am very grateful to be able to still see her whilst I work Monday to Thursday.


In my spare time, I like to make memories with my daughter, as well as go for long walks in the lake district with my partner, Forrest and our Cavapoo Luna. I also love baking, especially baking cookies and decorating birthday cakes for my friends and family.
