Heathfield House Day Nursery is one of two family run day nurseries, owned by mother and daughter. They offer full and part time places for 0-5 year olds, in a caring, home from home environment. Priding themselves on delivering high quality childcare and pre-school education, which is reflected in their most recent Ofsted report.
A special place for children to learn, grow and play.
As a family run setting, they aim to emulate the home whilst still offering a wide range of activities. Teaching and learning is based on the 'Reggio Emilia' approach, where children are given the opportunity to develop in stimulating environment, rich with learning opportunities. Heathfield House Day Nursery staff are particularly passionate about children enjoying the outdoors and have a stunning garden area, where children can truly thrive, and develop socially, emotionally and physically. In addition, the children are regularly taken on outings to explore their local environment.
They believe children should be active participants in their own learning, so a child-led approach to planning is adopted by practitioners and activities are often spontaneous and child initiated. Practitioners have a strong focus on helping children develop into confident, independent individuals who are ready for their next stage of life and learning.

We've had such a brilliant experience here. From day one the staff have been so warm and welcoming, and they've helped my daughter settle in beautifully. It's clear how much they genuinely care they know all the little things about her, keep me updated, and it's obvious she feels totally at home...

My daughter has attended this nursery for over 12 months. She loves going to 'school' . The activities and trips arranged for the children are brilliant. I love that they incorporate different seasons / holidays into there learning plans. Our daughter struggled with speech and has come on amazing . The staff are lovely there is a wonderful family feel to the nursery . I was very nervous about sending my daughter to nursery as she is very attached to myself and her dad but all concerns and questions are always answered promptly , reassurance is always given and my daughter settled in so well so quickly The staff are incredible and have a genuine care and lovely relationships with all the children. The updates each day are a joy to see . The news letters and term timetable are always in place and reminders are always posted . We will miss everything about this nursery when my daughter starts school next year.

Our daughter has been at Heathfield House for four years and we care really happy with her care and progress. She loves attending and often doesn't want to be picked up because she's having so much fun! The staff are caring, friendly and knowledgeable. They get to know the children and take an interest in what they enjoy. There are always lots of activities and experiences, including trips on the bus, cinema visits, trips to the local duck pond, Sports Day and the annual Heathfest. We also love how they build activities around the children's interests and the "story of the week" in preschool. The food is great quality with a wide variety of meals and communication with parents is excellent. The Famly app is a great way to keep up with what our daughter has been doing throughout the day.
Most importantly, our daughter is happy, settled and well cared for. We're really happy with Heathfield House and would definitely recommend it to other parents.

We couldn't be happier with Heathfield Day Nursery. The staff are warm, caring and incredibly attentive, and they genuinely know our son as an individual. We especially love how happily he goes into nursery each morning. He is always excited to see the staff and is happy to stay, which gives us great peace of mind. The team are also wonderful when it comes to his health and individual needs. Our boy has eczema, and they are very attentive to his skin and any flare-ups, making sure he is comfortable and well cared for. We have seen him grow so much in confidence and independence since joining Heathfield. Communication is excellent and we completely trust the team to care for him.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone at Heathfield and would wholeheartedly recommend them to any parent looking for a caring, nurturing nursery.

I've viewed several nurseries before seeing Heathfield house & I knew straightaway it was the right place for my baby. It's a beautiful nursery with lovely caring staff.

She is so much more confident since we moved here and is always excited to come in every day! The staff are amazing, my girl is greeted at the door with a huge smile...
We moved from a different nursery straight to the Pre- school room last year and I was blown away by how quicky my girl settled in. She is so much more confident since we moved here and is always excited to come in every day! The staff are amazing, my girl is greeted at the door with a huge smile and a big cuddle every morning & they give a really detailed handover at pick up and are always sending photos on the app so you can see what they've been up to. And most importantly, I feel like she is completely safe in their hands and have no worries at all about her safety or wellbeing.

We moved our son due to problems with settling in at his previous nursery. From day one we were met with a warm, caring environment with staff interested in getting to know him fully. Staff asked questions to support his settling in and allowed him to build safe and secure relationships. We receive daily updates and photographs offering reassurance and peace of mind. All staff know his name and are always smiling to greet us in the morning. He has achieved so much over the past 4 months, outstanding!

We have been really impressed with the way they handle transition between different rooms, Babies-first steps-toddlers etc.. they clearly have a plan and it's well communicated to parents.
The best thing about the nursery is the staff, they have had such a consistent team the entire time our daughter has been there. You can tell they are a real team and love what they do.

I could not send my child to any other nursery, the staff go above and beyond to make you as a parent and the child feel safe and secure. The activities they provide are beautiful and leave them with memories to last a life time. I will be so sad when nursery life ends for my little boy Jack.

My son Bodhi has had an outstanding experience at Heathfield House Nursery. From starting in the Baby room, moving through Toddlers and Rising Threes, and now thriving in Pre-School, every stage has been filled with care, consistency and genuine warmth. The nursery is truly inclusive, and the staff are friendly, trustworthy and wholeheartedly committed to each child's wellbeing.
Bodhi has formed wonderful friendships and incredibly strong bonds with several members of the team, which speaks volumes about the nurturing environment they create. Their learning-through-play ethos is exceptional, and the huge range of activities they offer has supported his development in every possible way. He has grown socially, emotionally and academically, becoming a confident, curious and happy little boy.
I am deeply grateful for the crucial role Heathfield House has played in shaping Bodhi's early years. Their dedication, kindness and passion have made a lasting impact and I highly recommend them.

Both of my children attend Heathfield. I am unbelievably happy with the level of care that my children receive. They have been hugely accommodating and very supportive. There are great resources at this nursery. I really feel that my children have been able to spread their wings here and get to explore their interests as well as working on areas where they need a little more help. The staff go out of their way to come up with great activities for the children. The facilities are clean and well-maintained. The outdoor area is brilliant. My children love it.
Staff moral at Heathfield seems to be very high.
