At Just for Starters, the well qualified and experienced team are there to support your child to reach their full potential. Every child is unique, and the staff provide an environment that is fun and enriching as well as safe and secure to meet your child's needs.
There is an inviting and generous outdoor space including a sensory and all weather garden. Children also have access to sand and water play, climbing frames, balancing beams and a large selection of bikes, scooters and sports equipment. All these activities are important to enhance children's co-ordination and physical development.
Inside, the nursery has different areas designed to spark the child's imagination and further develop social and physical skills. These include the home corner, soft play area, puppet theatre and construction. In addition, there is access to sand and water play, arts & crafts and cooking, several book corners, numerous toys and games and lots of opportunities for mark making.
The child-centred and free flow approach allows children to follow their interests and develop at their own pace.
At the nursery, menus are varied so children have the opportunity to try different foods. They believe that mealtimes should be happy times where social skills are learnt.

My third child has been at Just For Starters for a year. I have used 5 nurseries between my 3 children due to multiple house moves, and have visited many others when choosing a nursery. The staff at just for starters are second to none. They will make not only your child, but also parents and carers feel part of the nursery family. Staff here are incredibly caring, knowledgable, nurturing, and supportive. My child attended here and another nursery at the same time for a while, and it became clear that just for starters was the far better fit for him. The way he is, and the way he is spoken about is so much more positive, that we decided to go full time at the nursery. We haven’t looked back.
As his time comes to an end at the nursery, I’m really sad to say goodbye to the staff and kids, but I know they’ve prepared him for school in every way possible. He’ll thrive because of the time and effort that all the staff have put in to his preschool experience. Thank you all.

We are delighted with our experience of Just for Starters so far. It is our two-year-old daughter's first time in a nursery setting, and we have been so appreciative of the care and attention she has received during her settling-in period. Staff are warm and attentive, and we are very happy with the array of activities on offer for her - it's lovely seeing updates of what she's been up to throughout the day via the app. Communication from staff has been great from day one - whether, by phone, email or app, they always have time to talk through any concerns. We 100% recommend Just for Starters.

Our 3-year-old recently joined Just For Starters Day Nursery, and we couldn’t be happier. She previously attended a nursery we weren’t entirely happy with, but we were very reluctant to move her due to settle ins etc. She was very nervous to start at the nursery, however, the management/staff always put her at ease and make her feel settled, which puts us at ease too. The app used by the nursery to provide parents updates is brilliant; we receive these daily, and it’s lovely to see her progress and what she gets up to with her friends. The nursery provides so many engaging activities through learning and play, and she is always excited to tell us about what she’s been up to during the day. I love how I can speak to any of the staff, including management, and they all know how she has been getting on showing the level of interaction she has with the staff.
The nursery has fantastic facilities, which enable the children to play and learn in a clean and safe environment.

Our little two-year-old joined Just For Starters in October 2021, and we’re delighted with the level of learning, care and overall attentiveness shown. Our child has settled in so well and is thriving in his new environment. We receive regular and useful updates on his progress, and the overall staff/management engagement is fantastic. Just for Starters is a hub of activity, there is lots of variety, which keeps our little one thoroughly engaged/amused and excited. We like how our child is treated as an individual, the staff have really embraced his interests and are encouraging him to explore, grow and develop. He arrives at nursery with a smile and leaves full of stories about his little adventures and friends.
