My daughter has been attending since February 2023 and she is so happy there. The team are amazing, we get helpful feedback each day and they have helped her to reach some of her milestones. She came to this nursery without knowing to speak English, as it's not our first language and she picked up very
quickly with their help and support.
I recommend the nursery and its friendly, competent, caring team. A big thank you and we will miss you!

Both my sons attended North Star Nursery. It's quite a sad time as my youngest is now coming to the end of his time with them. The staff at North Star have been amazing with both of them. The connection that they have with the children and parents is second to none. They were extremely supportive of
my eldest and the additional help that he required and showed the same dedication to my youngest. They are also very supportive of parents, willing to have chats at the door when possible, answer questions and offer advice if they're able. I don't think I could have asked for a better experience for the early education of my children. It is clear that all the staff love what they do and are invested in the children's development! North Star Nursery is an amazing setting which I recommend to anyone who is looking.

Brilliant little nursery where staff are warm, fun and always open to learning and growing. Our two year old can never wait to get there in the morning and always has a smile when we pick her up. There is a small garden at the back, which means come rain or sunshine the children always get time outdoors.
I particularly love the fact that the classes often mix and mingle, meaning siblings can see other other, but also cross-class friendships can thrive and the transition from one class to another isn't such a big deal.

My 2 year old attends North Star Nursery (started at 1 year old) and my 5 year old attends holiday club during the holidays (she previously attended the nursery from 10 months until she started school).
The nursery is fantastic, both my girls love attending and have the best time. The environment the
staff have created is fun, welcoming, educational and nurturing. The nursery provides everything they need to thrive and develop. They are both confident and independent and this has been achieved because of the nursery, I really can't imagine sending them anywhere else!
The nursery also goes above and beyond to help parents when there are any issues with behaviour/development and works fully with us to keep us updated and to provide advice. The nursery staff are extremely knowledgeable and I feel like they are part of the family, they genuinely love the children and it really shows at drop offs when both kids are happy to go straight in without any fuss!
I highly recommend the nursery to everyone!

My son has been at North Star Nursery from 11 months old. North Star is a fantastic environment for children, regardless of their age.
The staff all form strong bonds with the children and remember the tiniest details about them and their interests, and develop activities in line with them where possible.
The food is balanced and varied, and I feel confident that my very fussy eater (who always manages to eat all his food here, but never at home!) is well fed.
My son absolutely loves attending and has developed so much since being at North Star. Some mornings, I don't even get a wave goodbye when he arrives as he is so happy to be there and play with his friends. The staff build in a great mix of inside activities, and outdoor. He loves the big garden (which has a lovely shady area).
From the day he started, I have felt confident that my son is being looked after by staff that genuinely love what they are doing and care about all the kids. Thank you for everything! Highly recommend.

Both of my daughters currently attend the nursery. They are thriving in the environment. The staff are friendly and so invested in my girls and their happiness and development. They are always doing different activities and bringing home things they have made. Would definitely recommend this nursery.

My daughter is currently at North Star Nursery and thriving in the environment. My son also attended nursery here and loved it. The staff are kind, professional and highly competent. We are very happy with the atmosphere at nursery, from the range of activities to the parental support provided (with
parent workshops, frequent meetings with staff, newsletters and information sheets, as well as thorough daily updates from staff in the room).

North Star nursery is a brilliant environment for little people! The facility is beautifully thought through with a great range of activities inside and out. The staff are very approachable and knowledgable offering all sorts of support not only for the children in their care but also for their families.
Our little boy loves his days at North Star and we have loved seeing him develop there. Thank you North star for all you do!

Facilities/outdoor space. They make great use of limited space. There’s a big garden with plenty of space to run around, shade under the porch and trees in sunny weather.
Learning. Children enjoy a varied and stimulating programme of learning through play.
Resources. North Star operate as a not-for-profit
and do everything they can to keep costs low for parents. As a result, some of the equipment is a little worn. But there are loads of toys and games, rooms are decorated nicely with the children’s artwork.
Care. My son is cared for with sensitivity and tenderness, he has formed strong bonds with his career and is always happy to see them.
Activities. Messy play, sensory play, singing, games, reading, walks, trips, you name it!
Staff. A superb team of experienced and dedicated professionals.
Food. Balanced healthy meals which my son enjoys. Good at catering for dietary requirements.
Management/safeguarding/cleanliness. Extremely capable and consistent.

This is a wonderful nursery and I can't recommend it highly enough! My daughter absolutely loves it and has developed so much since attending. There is a terrific garden which the children love, and the staff and really friendly and supportive. They offer great parenting advice and even run free workshops
for parents on things like toilet training and positive behaviour management. They are flexible on how you can use the government funding for childcare and they really get to know the children and pay attention to their individual needs. Plus they are one of the cheapest nurseries around!

Current Review Score: 8.4 (8.375)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.4 (8.375) out of 10 for North Star Nursery & Holiday Club is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.4 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for North Star Nursery & Holiday Club is calculated as follows: ( (24 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.375 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for North Star Nursery & Holiday Club is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 number of registered child places is 8. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 8 = 0.25
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
