Little Acorns Nursery took over the nursery in Aldbourne in April 2017, the nursery in Aldbourne, near Marlborough, Wiltshire, is located within an area of outstanding natural beauty. Being a slightly smaller site this nursery in Aldbourne provides a very homely feel with friendly and welcoming staff providing care within a safe and secure environment. Staff cater for your child’s individual needs by planning activities that are inviting, encouraging them to engage, and with support from staff extend all areas of their learning. With local visits to the Library, care home and their very own allotment on a weekly basis, the children and nursery are very much part of the community.

My two girls have settled in so well to this nursery. The staff are all attentive, caring and on the ball with the kids. All of the children are happy and the nursery supports all of their needs brilliantly.

Little Acorns is a great nursery. All three of my children (who are all quite different!) have now attended, from one year old to school age, and they have all loved it. The staff are kind and friendly and really care about the children, taking time to get to know them as individuals. The nursery has
a lovely outdoor area and lots of different toys and materials for them to play with. There are lots of different activities for the children to try, including dance and French, and games for the older ones designed to get them to start recognising letters, strengthening their hands for writing and counting to get them ready for school. My two boys had a great transition to school as a result, and my daughter is so happy at Little Acorns, I'll be sad when she leaves!

Both of my girls have been with the nursery from 9 months old till, primary school for my eldest, and still currently attending for my pre-schooler. The setting has been the perfect balance of small and nurturing, yet large enough to ensure they have been able to develop great social skills and communication
skills with their peers. The staff are caring and have a genuine investment in your children. Sam and Katie are always flexible where they can be with managing the setting. Rosie is a fantastic room leader for the pre-schoolers, fostering a love of continuous provision and learning through play, ensuring a wonderful range of activities. My girls both love it there and Rosie ensures consistent communication with parents on our children's progress and their enjoyment.

This is a lovely nursery. It is convenient to get to, placed in a quiet village and has a secure garden for the little ones to play in. They organise different activities with children and listen to parent's requests. Staff care for the children and welcome them with a smile.

Little Acorns is an excellent nursery in a beautiful setting, with attentive and caring staff. Our children love going to nursery and we have seen Little Acorns massively support their development on all levels.

We get regular updates on how our children are doing, events for the children and parents

and regular opportunities to discuss concerns or areas of focus.

Overall no complaints at all and can thoroughly recommend Little Acorns to anyone.

Excellent care provided for my little boy who attends. All the staff are professional, polite and trustworthy. My little boy is always excited to attend nursery and is happy when he is collected at the end of the day. The nursery staff listen to and address his needs, for example allowing him to have
a nap in the afternoon. The nursery are keen to work on his development and update us on his progress daily or through the app.

What an incredible effort from all the staff for the Easter Fun Day! There were so many activities and treats on offer throughout the morning and it felt like no expense was spared for the children and adults. It was such a lovely, enjoyable day and it really felt like everyone was having the best time.
Thank you to all the staff and caregivers for putting on an amazing morning. Looking forward to the next one!

The staff at Aldbourne Avenue Nursery were really committed to settling our girls into their new nursery. They made a real effort to get to know them as quickly as possible and make them feel safe and happy.
They've had regular parent's evenings to discuss their individual progress which has been really
informative and professional where key workers have clearly communicated excellent knowledge of our children.

We are really pleased with The Avenue in Aldbourne. It is perfect for us as we can walk to it, and our daughter strolls in very happily three mornings a week. She has a few health considerations and the team have taken them on board and do not treat her any differently to the other children and happily
administer her meds without any fuss. There is always a cheery atmosphere and they seem to do lots of different entertaining activities.

It can be really awful leaving your baby with strangers but the Avenue staff made it easier. All the staff at the Avenue, Aldbourne are caring, lovely, friendly people. I think the children all love them. I think the food they provide is really good and my son loves it there.

Hands down, I recommend the Aldbourne Avenue day Nursery for your littleys.
As a first-time mum, I was very anxious to let my 17-month-old into someone else's care. Each member of staff is kind and friendly which, paired with a welcoming environment, was very reassuring. There is a parents' app where
they provide updates on what your nipper did/is doing throughout the day (nappy changes, what they ate, activities etc). Their website outlines the kids' 'menus' (which are prepared in-house) consisting of 3 balanced meals and snacks. Honestly, my sprog eats better than I do! This location has a large outdoor space in which the children can wander about and play every single day. Outside, they can play with trikes, climb the climbing frame or fiddle with the bark in tyres and so on. The staff provide play that helps with cognitive development too! Children get to investigate dry pasta and paint amongst other sensory items. I haven't seen any room for improvement so far. Very pleased!

Thank you to the manager and the team at the Avenue. Wonderful nursery and my little boy loves it very much. He is always smiling when I pick him up and his speech is really coming on well, as well as his confidence. Thank you all for providing such a wonderful fun, educational time at the nursery.
My little boy especially enjoys drawing and playtime outside. Highly recommend. The manager and another member of staff are particularly fantastic.

My little boy (2 years) has been at The Avenue for just over a year. He is so happy there that he runs in every morning without a backward glance. He chats about his carers and what he's been up to and his days always seem to be full of fun activities. They have an app to keep me up to date with what
he's been doing and eating, even though I get a good verbal update at the end of each day. The management have been very proactive in supporting my child's development and working with me on any concerns I have. I really feel that they care about each child and their individual needs. The nursery has such a lovely, friendly atmosphere and all the staff are so committed to the well-being of the children. I am so happy we decided to place our little boy at The Avenue.

My child attends the nursery and is always happy to hear he will be going to the nursery to see his key workers and friends. The staff are very knowledgeable in childcare and build wonderful connections with the children they care for. I feel confident that my child is well looked after and genuinely
happy when there. Communication is very good. We have a parents' app, Facebook page, email, parents evenings and daily in-person updates.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.863)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.863) out of 10 for Little Acorns Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.963 for Little Acorns Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (104 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.963
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Little Acorns Nursery is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 38 number of registered child places is 7.6, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
