Ridgemount Cottage Nursery School

I have been using this nursery since January 2016. I can not fault it. The management is excellent and the staff are great with the children. Both my children have loved their time at Ridgemount Cottage day nursery.

We have two children who attend Ridgemount and both settled really well. The nursery do so much with the kids and they have formed lovely relationships with both ourselves and our children. Every day we receive pictures and updates and at the beginning of the week, a theme or topic is chosen for the children to focus on. Over the years Ridgemount have accommodated our son's initial milk allergy and handled any dilemma we've faced with such reassurance. For us, it's the first nursery we came across where we got the feeling we were looking for and I've not once regretted the decision.

We are so pleased with the care our daughter receives, the communications from the nursery and the obvious joy our daughter takes in going two afternoons per week. She is very happy at Ridgemount and is buzzing when she comes home which is delightful. The nursery has helped with her development in terms of activities, language and socialising with other children which during the current pandemic has been very difficult to achieve at home, especially since playgroups have been closed. The nursery has also been meticulous in its sanitising of all areas and equipment, keeping all parents up to date with their processes. This has been communicated through the two online messaging services, Tapestry and Famly, both of which are welcomed by parents.

Our son moved to Ridgemount Cottage from another nursery in January 2020. We have been so pleased with the nursery since he joined. Communication is the best we have ever had from a nursery setting, all of the staff and management are very approachable and helpful. Their response to the COVID has been well thought out and organised.

I would definitely recommend Ridgemount Cottage nursery. My son comes home full of life after a fabulous session. I feel very confident in knowing that my son is well looked after when he is there. The staff are great at communicating and keeping you up to date with everything.

My daughter has gone here from the age of one, she's now 4 and in the afterschool club. They have always been fantastic with her. She has reduced vision and they have gone up and beyond for her care, she has to be patched as many hours and they do it all, nothing is beyond them for her care. I really recommend this brilliant and family friendly nursery where all the staff in and out of the nursery are fantastic. The only down side is my daughter would never part with the beetroot brownies.

Absolutely fantastic nursery. I couldn't be happier. My daughter has been going there for 2 years and they have been nothing short of amazing. I love their indoor and outdoor curriculum. I love the outdoor facilities, their imaginative approach and their organisation. Through Covid, they have been very organised, on the ball and have a very thought-through approach. They have kept our family safe and happy! I really think a great deal of all the staff and management.

It goes without saying this year continues to present new and ever-changing challenges. Ridgemount Cottage has gone above and beyond to ensure that they have provided quality childcare in a safe and secure environment. The nursery has extensive outdoor areas which allow children to truly explore all that outdoor learning has to offer. I love that my daughter has access to such an array of indoor and outdoor spaces. As a parent, I am thrilled with steps that they have put into place; fogging of rooms each night, regularly disinfecting resources through the day, staff wearing mask when less than 2m apart, rotation and quarantine of resources that can't be disinfected. Parents are constantly kept informed and up to date with changes, which is reassuring. I feel confident taking my daughter to Ridgemount and throughout the pandemic, all staff continue to be professional, supportive and reassuring.

Excellent process for settling in and have gone out of the way to accommodate requirements. Made the whole transition so easy. Daughter is very happy and loves going. The feedback on what she gets up to in a day is excellent.

The level of care shown to the children at Ridgemont is absolutely fantastic. All staff are so friendly and kind and take a genuine interest in the children's wellbeing. Furthermore, during a very difficult time (COVID) the communication and transparency from the management cannot be faulted. I really could not recommend Ridgemont nursery highly enough!

My daughter joined the nursery in January after a house move, she found the transition difficult and drop off in the mornings were stressful. The staff were absolutely fabulous and took it in their stride, they have been brilliant with settling her in and she now does not want to leave at the end of the day! The meals served are healthy and my daughter always comes home and tells me what she’s eaten, she enjoys all the fun activities throughout the day and has already made good relationships with the staff and other children.

I was worried about my son's speech as he's 2 but now he is in the outstanding learning in his room. This is all down to staff and my brains of course! Highly recommend, great staff, very hard working, friendly and approachable.

This is a fantastic nursery, it has been outstanding from day one when my eldest child attended until throughout the pandemic. They are caring, fun, friendly, and most importantly put the safety of the children and their staff first. I feel so lucky to have found this nursery.

My daughter has attended nursery since she was 6 months old and is now just over 2 years old. I cannot express how fantastic my daughter's development has been since joining. The staff are incredible and the food choices are amazing as it’s a struggle to eat certain foods at home but eats them without a fuss at nursery. The manager and all the staff have gone above and beyond since the start of the pandemic to keep our children safe and cannot rate this nursery enough! 5* review from us.

My son absolutely loves going to preschool here every afternoon, he has made so many great friends and has learnt so much! The staff are fantastic, so fun and friendly, could not fault them on anything, highly recommend.

I am very happy with Ridgemount Cottage nursery. My daughter loves to go there. The staff are lovely, food is amazing and the environment for children is very safe and clean. When I first went to see this nursery I instantly fell in love with their little forest in the garden. The children have so much to do and learn there. Management is caring and responsible.

My daughter has been at Ridgemount Cottage since she was 10 months old (she is now 4). The staff team have always been caring and supportive. My daughter is always excited to go and is full of stories when she comes home. They have an amazing outdoor space which they take full advantage of. Particularly during the pandemic, they have been incredibly helpful and transparent.

I am dissatisfied with the service received from Ridgemount. It's financially expensive. Got charged for a full 15 minutes if I was 5 minutes early. Queried this with the manager, and was just told to reduce hours, however when I paid for early starts, no one would open the gate until 50 or 55. I was always getting messages to say something is up with my daughter. And I could not feel at ease at work, because of dreaded email. The overall nursery is clean and very educated but, the service I received was not as of standard.
