My daughter absolutely loves it here. The staff are always helpful and happy to chat through any concerns you may have with your child. I really appreciate that as a nursery they do what is best for her, including allowing her to grow within an environment that isn't completely covered in cotton wool.
This allows her to learn from any mistakes she may make, within a safe environment, instead of stopping them before they happen and then her going and making that mistake somewhere that isn't safe to make it.

This is a nursery, where your child will be looked after to a basic level so they won't get injured and have a basic care.
Although most of staff seems to be nice, it really does seem that they come in to have a nice time rather than run around kids trying to give the best care to them that they can.
Also
the big concern is that it seems that this business is very happy to take the money – but not to spend any back on the nursery. A lot of things need updating.
I have seen other girl in babies room constantly walking with massive snot and no one bothered ever to wipe it of her nose. To me – it is child’s neglect.
So basically, yes, your child will most likely be in one piece by the time you collect it, but nurses seems to have no genuine sympathy to check if child is dressed well, cold, snotty etc. They do change nappy. And will most definitely smile when you collect child trying to point out that they did very well regardless of the fact that perhaps they were freezing half day.
Reply from Karen Keen, Nursery Manager at Daisychain ChildcareWe are sorry that you felt the need to leave such a review when issues had only been raised with us the same day and nothing prior to that. It would have been nice if we could have met and discussed the issues but due to your work commitments you declined.
Picking up on your point that staff seem to come in for a nice time, I agree staff do come to have a nice time because they truly love their jobs and make sure that children have fun whilst learning through play.
Some things may need to be updated and this will be done in due course as plans are currently in place for improvements. This however does not impact on the care that is given to every one of the children who attend our setting. You may be aware from recent news stories that Nurseries are grossly underfunded by government at present and expected to offer 15 and 30 hour funded places to children which has led to many nurseries in the local area closing down.
The point where you say a child was constantly walking around with a snotty nose is difficult to comprehend when we have a high ratio of staff to children and I know that none of the staff would ignore a child with a runny nose. Children often have a cold and a small sneeze can lead to a sudden explosion of mucus. Children are prone to illnesses in the nursery environment the same as when children go to school as they have close contact with other children throughout the day. We encourage hygiene among the children by asking them to wash their hands after using the toilet and before eating as well as encouraging them to use a tissue when they have a cold. I can assure you that no child is at harm of neglect and this is very unfair to accuse us of this. We currently have 50 happy parents whose children thrive from the care and learning experiences they gain here.
You have also mentioned the temperature of the rooms. These are monitored throughout the day by taking readings of the temperature to make sure children are comfortable. Children are dressed in suitable outdoor clothing for outside and we ensure the rooms are warm when they come in. During colder weather children are taken out for shorter periods.

The staff are amazing!! My daughter really struggled with separation anxiety but the staff were very understanding and allowed me to leave her for shorter periods until she settled properly. My daughter now loves the nursery so much she doesn’t want to leave!
The staff are always happy and it is evident
they love their jobs. Children are well cared for and there is always a wide variety of activities on offer. I am now expecting my second baby and I won’t hesitate in sending them to the same nursery. My daughter has a fantastic key person who keeps me informed each time she attends the nursery. She has made great progress and she developed good friendships with other children and her self-confidence has grown.
