I couldn't fault Gaywood first Steps. Our daughter loves it there. She especially loves playing outside as they have a lovely big garden. The sensory room is also a favourite.
The staff are great and all very friendly and helpful.
I would be happy to recommend this nursery.

My son has flourished at this nursery. The staff are amazing and work tirelessly to provide the perfect care to your children. I feel they love him just as we do and I have absolute confidence in them to look after my son, and any future children I send there. The facilities are great inside, and they
do everything they can for the children to make it fun and inspiring.

My daughter started Gaywood First Steps at 9 months old, I was really nervous about leaving her so young but once she had started my mind was very quickly at ease her routine was followed and she was very happy to be there. She thrived in each room and loved the staff members taking care of her and
I couldn't thank them enough for helping her to be so ready to start her school journey.

Gaywood First Steps have been an amazing nursery for my daughter, helping her grow and develop into a child who is ready for the next adventure of school. Gaywood First Steps have always been accommodating to my daughter's dietary requirements when doing activities such as pancakes and cupcakes. My
daughter absolutely loved going to nursery and will really miss all of the enthusiastic and friendly staff. A special mention to two staff members for their continued support for my daughter who loves seeing both of them.
Thank you so much for all the hard work and dedication you give to the children, it definitely pays off and doesn't go unnoticed!

Really happy with this nursery, the staff are very kind and really support the children individually with personalised support. There is a lovely and very large outdoor space and a good mix of child-led and adult-led activities such as baking etc. In three years, there was never a single time when my
daughter wasn't excited to go to nursery here.

Gaywood First Steps Nursery is a fantastic setting. A lot of safety measures are in place to minimise number of accidents. The team welcome you and your child every single day with a smile. Everyone has been very supportive and understanding. They go above and beyond to make children feel comfortable.
They offer wide range of educational activities, both indoor and outdoors. The place is clean and tidy, despite having messy play and painting throughout the day. Far superior to other settings I have been to.

My children have always been well looked after, there is great communication between parents and staff there are so many new learning opportunities for all. My daughter attended for two years. The staff were absolutely brilliant with her, nothing was ever too much for them. After a difficult time with covid lockdowns etc, they helped our daughter tremendously with her confidence and social skills. The staff were very supportive of our daughter and of us
as parents. We will treasure the memories from her time at nursery.

My grandchildren have all attended this nursery and another is about to join. The staff are amazing the kids all loved being here. You can go to the staff about anything, they are always happy to help. I would say I’m going to miss the place but not rid of me yet, one grandson starting in September
and another as soon as he is 2.
I would highly recommend it to anyone.

My child is absolutely loving his time here! Watching him thrive and come home with positive stories has reassured me that I made the best choice for a nursery setting. The staff have been really supportive and informative, they are kind and always make sure I know what kind of day my child has had
at nursery. I would recommend them 100% and have done so many times to people seeking nursery recommendations.

I love this nursery! My daughter went here and she loved it. They were supportive and knew all the kids individually. My son started here in 2022 and he loves it. They fill you in on your child’s day, answer any queries you have and always send the kids home with lovely things they make for Mother’s
Day etc. I can’t rate this nursery highly enough.

Three of our kids are attending Gaywood First Steps. We love this nursery. Our children are always happy to go and are well looked after there. The staff are always friendly and really take the time to understand each child and attend to their specific needs. They understand each of our children’s personalities
and likes and dislikes. The communication is excellent and we always know what’s going on. We have one child with specific medical needs and the staff are wonderful at administering his medication and being extra vigilant with his health and well-being. Our kids have made impressive developmental progress since starting nursery here. We would recommend this nursery to anyone looking for a caring and friendly environment for their children.

We have several kids in several rooms of this nursery. The staff here are amazing. Very in tune with the children's needs: they really get to know the kids super well. On the rare occasions that one of the kids has been unwell, they have always done the right thing. I feel very comfortable and reassured
that the kids will be given the care, attention and support they need. Staff always give detailed information on what happened during the day. I always feel in the loop with what happened, as well as any admin, or other information. They are always organising fun activities for the kids, dressing up days and holiday-themed fun.
Hands down the best nursery I've ever had the pleasure to send my kids to. Recommend them 100%.

My child started at Gaywood First Steps in February 2022 and has settled in wonderfully. The staff seem to genuinely enjoy their work and always give a warm welcome. The outside facilities are especially good and were one of the main reasons we picked this nursery. They do a good range of activities
and communicate these well verbally and via an email update. I have no concerns about my child's happiness, safety or well-being at nursery, but also know that I would be listened to if I did. An all-round lovely place!

The staff will always reply to emails and are always happy to listen in the mornings.

Gaywood First Steps is a lovely nursery with such friendly caring staff. Both my boys have been made to feel so welcome, and if there are any situations or concerns, the staff are there to help and support. During the pandemic 2020, once the nursery could re-open again, the staff have worked so hard
to create a safe environment for all the children keeping us up to date with what is happening. I would highly recommend this nursery.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.341)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.341) out of 10 for Gaywood First Steps is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.779 for Gaywood First Steps is calculated as follows: ( (83 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 104 Ratings = 4.779
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.562 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Gaywood First Steps is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 68 number of registered child places is 13.6. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 13.6 = 0.662
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
