The working-parent hours depend on each parent meeting the minimum earnings rules and earning under £100,000 a year. This nursery stretches funded hours across 50 weeks of the year. You've selected 30 funded hours.
- This nursery applies up to 10 funded hours per day, stretched across 50 weeks of the year. With your selected funding, 22.8 hours are covered each week. Hours beyond this, including the early and late parts of the day, are charged at the standard rate.
- We work out the total cost across the year and divide by 12, so the figure shown is a smoothed monthly average. In practice, nurseries bill in different ways. Some bill monthly at this average. I have twins who started at the nursery in January 2026 being 13 months old, as a first time mum I was anxious about nursery and how the girls would be away from me and did not feel ready for the change or to leave my babies. Their settling in sessions took place during the change in management which made me more nervous however, I cannot fault the new manager, she has been a rock for me especially during the settling in sessions, we agreed the girls needed an extra one and to me makes all the difference to know each child's needs are assessed and met. The first couple of months were hard at drop off and pick up with the girls being upset, that said the updates we received during the day I knew they were enjoying themselves. Fast forward to today and the girls are excited when we pull up at nursery they thoroughly enjoy their time there. The activities and weekly themes put on by the staff are amazing and I truly am grateful the girls attend such a fun, loving and caring environment.

I feel comforted to know that they are safe and looked after in every way. All the exciting activities are really usual for them and for us to get involved.

I was initially really anxious about sending my son to nursery and after looking around a few in my local area, I decided Headstart was the place I wanted him to go. All the staff have been so kind and supportive. My son is very clingy and particular who he will go to so it speaks volumes that he's comfortable with everyone there. He's always got a big smile on his face when I pick him up and it's really nice that you get a run down of how he's been and what he's been up to whilst there.

Headstart Day Nursery has been a fantastic place for my daughter, and I'm really pleased with the care she receives there. The staff are kind, attentive, and are invested in the children's wellbeing, but I want to give special thanks to Diana, who has been absolutely wonderful. Her patience, warmth, and dedication have made such a positive difference in my daughter's experience-she feels safe, happy, and excited to go in each day.
I've also noticed a significant improvement since Gemma arrived. There's a clear sense of organisation, positivity, and strong leadership that has really enhanced the overall environment. Communication has improved, and the nursery feels even more supportive and well-run.

Headstart nursery is a place to be for a child. The environment is full of educative toys and at the same time fun. The staffs are well trained and looking after my child properly. A report of what happened each day is given. My child is also happy to be in the nursery.

I honestly can't recommend Headstart enough! My daughter loves it and is constantly asking to go back.
Since Gemma has taken over, I've noticed some really positive changes - many of which were definitely needed. Gemma and the team are incredible - absolute superstars.
