I have had my both children at Apricot Nursery, when the big one had to go to school in September, I wanted to find a nursery for the little one close to the school but he was so attached and close to the staff members that we decided it is best for him to stay at Apricot nursery.
The staff are very
friendly and always helpful, my son loves to have cuddles from them every morning, he even pronounces their names at just 2 years old. He is bilingual now, started to talk in English and this is because of staff having many activities with him on a daily basis as we do not talk in English at home.
The management is great, greeting us with a big smile every morning, always ready to help if it is needed.
We can not thank them all enough for how our little one settled in so quickly.
Well done team at Apricot Nursery!

Apricots Nursery is a fantastic setting for young children and I cannot praise the staff enough. My eldest has been attending for over a year and instantly warmed to the staff/her peers and it's a joy to see her genuinely excited to go into nursery. Her development is thriving and the variety of activities
is great. Having big sky next door is an added bonus for days they need to burn off energy and the balance of indoor/outdoor play is lovely to see. Both children attend the setting and are always well fed and cared for and the staff are very attentive, kind and nurturing. The Wise Owls staff have also been brilliant at helping through changes such as potty training. The admin staff are also extremely helpful and flexible, they are very welcoming and everyone I have met at the nursery so far are friendly and engaging and it is very apparent they all care for the children.
Reply from Deborah Cobb, Senior Nursery Manager. at Apricot NurseryThank you so much for your lovely review and kind words. It's wonderful to see how happy the children are whilst at nursery.

My son with autism goes twice a week and he absolutely loves it. He struggled for a long time to get used to it and to be comfortable and even though he has tough days there still he has more better days than worse. They have made him feel welcomed and safe. They have supported me through all the hardships
and tough things as a single parent you go through. They have also helped me every step of the way with his early help and even contacted a children's charity to get me help. They are very supportive and you can message them or ring them at any time and they always answer and try to help as best they can. My son has come on so much since being there. They do not push my boy to integrate too much if he doesn't feel it and they do whatever they can to help him and get his confidence up.

My two children have been attending since March 2023.
My children adore their key workers and talk about them at home during play or walking into the nursery. My kids often run to nursery and are smiling and happy at pick up too. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The room staff are happy to
give detailed handovers, or if as a parent I am in a rush I know all the information is on their nursery app.
The management team are helpful and friendly. Always happy to talk to you with an open-door policy and keep parents informed of any news, updates or upcoming events on the nursery app.
The nursery recently renovated its outdoor space which my children love as I can see from the photos they provide weekly. They also provide monthly observations with a focus on the EYFS. With access to the next-door soft play centre in times of bad British weather!
My children are happy, healthy and thriving and I know it's been in part from the support from their time at nursery. Highly recommend.

My daughter went to this nursery when she was younger. It was the first nursery we had put our daughter in after looking around many it just felt like the right one. As hard as it is to drop off as a first-time parent, we always found the staff to be so friendly and welcoming to both us and our daughter.
Our daughter came on leaps and bounds with her development and loved going and exploring all on offer. The staff were always able to help with any questions we had and we always felt she was safe. She loved being outside and exploring the lovely outdoor space they have and they always did a variety of well-planned activities indoors and outdoors which were shared with us daily They followed her routine and she always felt settled there which was definitely a big thing. Thank you again to all the hardworking staff. I would definitely recommend this nursery as it is a lovely setting and they always have a variety of exciting planned activities for all ages.
Reply from Deborah Cobb at Apricot NurseryThank you so much for your kind review. It is lovely to hear about the activities that our nursery team plan to extend the children's learning. It is so important to us, that our children enjoy their time at Apricot Nursery.

My children have all passed through this nursery.
The staff are warm and welcoming always wearing a smile on their faces. They provide feedback on your child's activities for the day and upload pictures and short videos on their app.
I have 2 kids who were diagnosed with ASD and the nursery helped
me to get to the right people in time for my kid's diagnosis. They've supported both kids all the way and still ask about my son's progress now that he is in primary school.
I cannot stop speaking about how good this nursery is. I have recommended them to a few friends and I hope they get on board.

Staff are always helpful and the care of my kids has been of paramount concern to all the staff. There have been no safeguarding issues for me to worry about and my kids have grown in confidence and wellness. They are always provided with healthy meals to suit all dietary requirements. Management and
staff are always mindful of parents' feelings and will lead a parent from being a new parent to one that is confident in their abilities. Thank you, for continuing to provide such amazing care.

We moved our son from another local nursery as we were unhappy with the care so were understandably apprehensive about starting a new setting. Apricot has been fantastic since day 1, always get so much information on handovers. Even if our son is sad when going the staff are so good at settling him
in. A few staff members, in particular, have made such a positive impact on our son and he speaks so fondly of them. Management are so understanding of personal situations and very accomodating. Our son has come on so far since joining so pleased. I really feel like he will be ready for school next year when he goes.

Great place for children! My son has been going there for a year and is very happy! Everyone there is very friendly, always responds when I have a question. They are always smiling and behaving very well. Amazing teachers, my boy likes them very much. My child feels at home there, he has a lot of friends
and looks forward to going every day. In a year there has been extraordinary progress, the teachers are amazing! The food is fresh and very tasty. I know my child is in good hands when he goes there. I hope one day my other child can go there. I would recommend this nursery to anyone who wants a good place for their child!

Finding a nursery is extremely hard so finding the perfect nursery is even harder. We found one. Our boy was so anxious and in tears, absolutely normal, all the staff helped and cared for our boy so much he settled in 2 weeks. The manager is the kindest and most caring manager, went that extra mile
to get our little boy in, no stress at all - thank you. Outstanding staff, especially 2 members of staff in particular, who have been so kind and gentle in helping him settle. He adores them. Also all the other kind ladies in the Pioneer Room. All the children are so friendly, no other nursery is the same, your child is their name and not a number. The food is great. Outside and inside activities are amazing so much for them to explore. A brilliant online system where you can see what your child has done, also pics and what they've eaten. I can't fault this nursery, it runs smoothly and everyone is happy to help and guide your child in the right direction. Thank you to all of you for running a 10/10 nursery.

My son has been going here since he was one and a half. I always worried it was too soon for him to be going to nursery. However I noticed the difference in his behaviour, his speaking is so fluent. He has learnt so much that I know isn’t what myself or his dad has done but the nursery. It’s a very
settled place for my son. He absolutely loves going to nursery. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The setting itself is lovely. I would choose this nursery over any. Parents are kept up to date with what the children are doing in advance which is great. Weekly entry’s about your child’s week is also a bonus. A great nursery couldn’t fault the place. Also the only nursery I could find with perfect working hours 8-6 a lot I’ve seen are school hours which aren’t practical.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.891)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.891) out of 10 for Apricot Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 26 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.891 for Apricot Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (280 Excellents x 5) + (30 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 312 Ratings = 4.891
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Apricot Nursery is based on 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 80 number of registered child places is 16, which has been reached with 26 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
