Welcome to Brambletye Nursery – A Magical Start at a Multi-Award-Winning Prep School

Set in the heart of the Sussex countryside, Brambletye Nursery offers a joyful, nurturing beginning for children aged 2 to 4. As part of a leading prep school, the Nursery is a much-loved setting where curiosity is encouraged, friendships flourish and childhood is cherished.

Rooted in the EYFS framework, the approach supports the whole child - emotionally, socially and physically - through purposeful play and exploration. These early years lay strong foundations for confidence, independence and a lifelong love of learning.

A Setting Designed for Discovery

Purpose-built classrooms are warm, welcoming and thoughtfully designed. With cosy reading corners, role-play zones and free-flow access to outdoor space, children are encouraged to explore and grow. Located within the Pre-Prep, the Nursery enjoys close links with the wider school.

School in the Woods

Outdoor learning is a core part of Nursery life. Children regularly head into Brambletye’s ancient woodland for School in the Woods, a time for den building, wildlife spotting and learning through nature. These sessions build confidence, empathy and joy in the natural world, and end with a warm mug of hot chocolate.

A Gentle Daily Rhythm

Each day balances structure and discovery. Activities include French, music, swimming, sensory play and seasonal celebrations, helping each child thrive at their own pace in a caring environment.

  • Universal Free Entitlement (FE) is Government funding which is available to all 3 and 4 year olds and provides up to 15 FE hours per week throughout the academic year. Parents can claim this from the term after their child’s 3rd birthday until the term when their 5th birthday falls. In order to claim this free childcare, a Parent Declaration Form must be completed. Please note that the FE hours in the nursery are between 12.30pm and 3.30pm.

All three of my children have been through Brambletye's nursery (my youngest is currently there) and have loved every minute. They bounce into the school in the morning, eager to find out what's in store for them. The staff go above and beyond to make sure each child is well cared for and enjoying their
day. I always think they look like they're having just as much fun as the children! There is so much more included than a typical nursery as it's part of a prep school; for example, swimming (in Apples class), french and music lessons. They also get to take part in Forest School in the school woods, which all mine have adored. I love hearing what they've been up to at pick up time, whether it be cooking, painting, dancing or dressing up, to name a few. I couldn't think of a better place for them to be and we are so thrilled we chose Brambletye.

Lovely nursery with amazing staff.
Lots of outside play and forest school. Amazing shows which has brought out so much confidence in our little girl.
Lots of sports they go swimming every week.
Being connected to the school gives a great level of teaching and learning.
All our children have loved
good every day which is always a great sign.

The nursery is fantastic - I can't praise it enough. My sons have settled in very well. They take part in a wide range of activities and truly enjoy their time there. Every day, they look forward to going to nursery and are often reluctant to leave at the end of the day. They feel comfortable, calm,
and happy at school, which makes each day a positive experience for them.


I've also noticed significant improvements in their speech and confidence since attending.


The staff are professional, friendly, and very supportive, so I feel completely at ease knowing my children are in good hands.

My son has been to Brambletye nursery since January and he is thriving and very happy. Teaching staff are phenomenal, the school is organised, beautiful grounds and in connection with the parents regularly which allows me to have a realistic overview if how my son is doing. Brambletye Nursery is a very special place. Older children still enjoy poking their heads around the door!


Our child spent a very happy year playing outside, creating amazing art, growing flowers, riding bicycles, performing on stage and making friends. Somewhere along the line the teachers managed

to weave in a huge amount of learning too!


As parents, we felt listened to, it was truly an open door policy. There were lots of opportunities to get involved and catch a glimpse of our child's day. Standout memories for us were the Mother's day assembly and the Bear Hunt in the woods. Weekly swimming was a huge bonus and the opportunity to make use of the wider school facilities was amazing.


We genuinely feel like our child has had the best possible start at Brambletye Nursey. The new head has been amazing and fantastic new things are introduced almost weekly under her stewardship. It is a great time to be a part of the Brambletye Nursery.

The nursery at Brambletye is incredibly special and we are very grateful to the wonderful staff for creating the most magical environment for our children there. They are exceptional, taking so much care to truly get to know the children and to give them all the attention and affection we could wish
for. They genuinely care about bringing the best out of them, making every effort to ensure that they're happy and thriving.


The activities on offer are wonderfully varied and it's clear that so much thought goes into making each day engaging and fun. Our children leave inspired and excited by what they have done that day - developing an enthusiasm for learning, all whilst they play and have the best time. They are fortunate to spend lots of time outdoors exploring the stunning grounds and enjoying the school's exceptional facilities too.


The atmosphere is warm and nurturing with a lovely family feel and I just couldn't recommend it more highly. I feel so lucky that we found Brambletye.

My husband and I would highly recommend Brambletye to any parent looking for a very happy and enriching nursery experience for their child/children. From our daughters first day, we knew we had made the right choice! All of the staff are truly dedicated and passionate about caring for children, enabling

We absolutely adore the nursery (and Pre-Prep) at Brambletye. Our daughter joined in her pre-school year and settled in immediately, throwing herself into every opportunity and blossoming under the care of the incredible staff. She is now in the Pre Prep (also fab) and our son is having a similarly
wonderful time. He started part time just days after his 2nd birthday as he was so desperate to be there! The staff are wonderful, kind and so caring, and create such a fun learning environment for the children. The spaces they have, especially outdoors, are brilliant and we love how much time the children spend outside playing and learning both in the outdoor classroom, on the playground, at school in the woods, and exploring the extensive grounds of the school. Being part of a school environment also means they get exposure to lots of experiences that they might not otherwise - the school theatre, music, French, swimming, etc. It's just fab!

My youngest has been attending the nursery at Brambletye since September 2024 and we couldn't be happier.
It's such a warm and nurturing environment for the children and every day I am amazed at the progress she is making there creatively, socially and academically despite it remaining such a fun
and playful environment for the children.
The teachers build such strong relationships with the children and really harness each child's individuality - it's clear how much they care about the children (and us parents!) and that they are genuinely passionate about their work.

My Daughter started at Brambletye Nursery just after turning 2 years old. I was very apprehensive at first, but after her settling-in sessions, I knew I had made the right choice. Now, a year on, she is thriving and very happy.


The staff are absolutely wonderful-caring, attentive, and nurturing.

One of the highlights is definitely the woodland and outdoor play areas, which provide amazing opportunities for exploration and nature-based learning. I highly recommend Brambletye Nursery to any parent looking for a warm and enriching environment for their child.

My 2 children both started Brambletye nursery full time when they were 2. They are almost 3 and 5 now. They love going to Brambletye nursery and every morning run to the nursery super happy. The staff is caring and provides continuous feedback on children's development, formal and informal. From Nursery
3 when they are a year before pre-prep children get swimming classes and French lessons too. My son's ability to swim is incredible currently. Overall, the experience with Brambletye is very pleasant. The school ensures that they do parents events and evenings too, so parents can get connected. The playground and indoor facilities are great, lots of educational materials for children.

Our daughter currently goes to Nursery at Brambletye. We are so happy with her being there.


The staff are very kind, nurturing and friendly and the garden is a beautiful, bright play space full of educational resources as well as play equipment that is clean and welcoming and inspires their imagination.

really enjoys the fresh and varied dinners offered every day.


She loves to explore the Brambletye woods.
The nursery makes good use of their beautiful grounds frequently which really appeals to her as she loves exploring outdoors and being amongst nature.

Brambletye Nursery is fantastic, we attended Bramble Babies before enrolling our son in Nursery (after viewing a lot of others) and he absolutely loves it.
The pre-prep head knows all the pupils and engages with them daily.
Staff are really friendly and caring. It really has a family feel, so glad
we found it.

I trained as a teacher at Canterbury Christ Church University before teaching in both the state and independent sectors. More recently, I owned and ran a nursery in the Sussex countryside, and during that time I completed a Masters in Early Years Education. I’ve also been a guest lecturer on the Masters course and enjoy serving as a primary school governor. I’m delighted to have joined Brambletye and to be working with such a wonderful team in such a vibrant, nurturing and inspiring Nursery and Pre-Prep environment.
