Home by the Sea takes pride in providing exceptional, individualised childcare, fostering a strong sense of community and belonging for both children and their families.

Housed in a spacious, detached Victorian former family home, the nursery features a beautiful 100-foot garden with apple trees and an allotment, offering a magical outdoor space for children to explore and learn. Free movement between rooms is a cornerstone of the nursery’s ethos. The garden, an extension of the house, includes a lawn, wood chip areas, decking, a scientific exploration zone, fruit trees, a children’s allotment, and a hideaway. This encourages children to explore, learn, and play freely, making each day an adventure.

Just a pebble’s throw from the beach, the nursery provides an inspiring and enchanting environment. Its warm, comforting colour scheme, natural wooden furniture, large, airy rooms, and stunning private garden create a familiar, fun, and relaxing atmosphere where children thrive.

Our daughter has had such a brilliant time at Home By The Sea. Outstanding staff who really nurture the children and keep parents in the loop. They're always seeking to do more and improve - we really love that they have introduced take home activity bags for parents to use with their kids. So thoughtful.
Couldn't recommend the nursery enough.

I am a massive fan of the nursery, the staff are so lovely and caring and I get the sense that they genuinely care about my child's emotional wellbeing. They are warm and welcoming and my children have both absolutely loved their time here.
The food is adventurous and interesting and my child always
seems to eat things he wouldn't at home (fish curry).
The nursery itself is genuinely a home from home environment, with unique and unrivalled outside space. On occasion there has been some confusion with communication but overall we are extremely happy!

My toddler 2yr old has a great time at nursery. He has so much fun, is always playing outside and having fun. Couldn't recommend Home by the Sea more. Management are always with the kids and staff and it has a great family feel. The house is fun and it feels like a home away from your home. The back
garden is fantastic and Friday football is loved by our little one.

Home by the Sea is a wonderful nursery. The love, care and consistency our daughter receives is second to none. Zoja and the practitioners she leads are exceptional -genuinely caring, professional and a real asset to the nursery and to iStep as a group.


The quality of the team and the nurturing environment

they create is what matters most to us, and in that regard we couldn't be happier. With that in mind, the nursery would truly benefit from some investment in the building and décor to match the outstanding standard of care already being delivered. With a refreshed environment, this setting would be absolutely exceptional.

My daughter has enjoyed her first real experience of Christmas with lots of fun activities planned throughout the month. Using sing a long to songs I have noted an increase in confidence and vocabulary.
The recent open day was once again wonderful chance to spend time with the staff and other parents,
exploring the environment that she learns in and of course meeting santa!

Our experience with the nursery has been overall excellent, the staff is very caring and supportive, there's always very good communication from the nursery and they've been really helpful with a toddler that had just never spent time with anyone else other than mum. They are so sweet and I can't highlight
enough how grateful we are to be able to fully trust each and every single one of them - especially in times like this.

All three of my children have attended home by the sea nursery and have thrived there! The staff are such an asset to the nursery, they really take the time to get to know all the children, find out (and remember!) their likes and dislikes and give them the best possible nursery experience.

Such a fantastic experience with Home by the Sea. There is so much warmth and love at this nursery from all the staff and the general vibe of the whole place. The nursey is small and personal and our pre-schooler has gained so much confidence, skills and lovely friendships setting him up really well

We love Home by the sea. My child is so happy and settled. All the team is amazing, every each one of staff taking extra care. The environment is stunning and well planned for all the children to have great opportunities of learning and exploring.

My son has been attending the nursery for 18 months having come from another nursery where we didn't have a great experience. What a difference! Home by the sea is so friendly, open and homely. All the staff are wonderful and it has been joyous to watch my son grow at the nursery. My son will be going
to school in September and we will really miss home by the sea and everybody there.

Both our children have come through Home by the sea and have flourished in their care. The staff are really nurturing and open, and my youngest skips in every day.
My eldest left entirely ready to continue her learning journey at school, and my youngest is going to be truly prepared when she starts
in September.

Our daughter has been at Home by The Sea Day Nursery & Pre-school for 2 and a half years. Starting in the toddler room and is now in preschool. We have had a wonderful experience from the start. The staff are all so warm and welcoming and have nurtured and looked after her so well from baby to pre-schooler.
She loves going in and talks about her day in the whole way home. From activities and reading during group time to lots of fun outside in huge garden, making mud pies and playing on the apparatus. She also loves the snack bar! Highly recommend to any parents considering Home by The Sea for their little one.

We couldn't be happier with the care that Home by the Sea gives our little boy. He's been settled there since he was 18 months old and has transitioned beautifully through their toddler room into the bigger pre school floor. We love the free flow approach to using the garden, which was always such a
big bonus for us. The younger children also have a chance to mix with the older ones which is so nice for both groups.


Staff wise, they are all absolutely lovely and the level of care shown is second to none. Anytime we've had an issue with separation anxiety, food, potty training etc, they've been really keen to work together to support our little boy which makes it feel like we're a team. It's so reassuring to be able to leave our little boy knowing he's thriving being in such good hands. Home by the Sea was recommended to us by a friend and we're so happy they did.

I couldn't have made a better decision to send my daughter to Home by the Sea. All the staff members are so warm and seem to know her so well, always commenting on her progress and funny anecdotes about what she has been up to each day. The activities they do with toddlers are so creative, often involving
messy play and I loved they recently invited two hospital workers to come and talk to the children and let them engage with the medical equipment. The garden is massive and I particularly appreciate recent efforts to involve parents in the work of the nursery, including through fun Christmas parties and introducing a story time for parents to lead with the children. I would welcome any further efforts to increase networking opportunities within the parent community.

Our child attends the nursery and loves the time she spends there. The staff are kind, supportive, responsible and most of all fun and engaging.
She loves the craft activities and muddy play in the garden the most. It's particularly helpful for us that the nursery is offering breakfast to all children
from 8.30 am.

  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
