Our twins have been at Little Lyndhurst since April 2025. They absolutely love their time there and have grown so much since starting. They enjoy the holiday camps which as dual working parents are very useful to cover school holidays. We've been very happy with the school and they'll be moving into reception in September which will give them excellent continuity. The reception class mixes with pre reception for many activities which means the transition to starting in full time reception will be a much easier process.

The school has a wonderful family feel and our children have been given such a wonderful start to their education in a really nurturing environment.

As parents of two daughters currently in Pre/ Reception, we cannot recommend Little Lyndhurst highly enough. Since joining in September 2025, the transformation in our girls has been remarkable. At their previous nursery, mornings were a constant struggle; now, they literally skip through the gates with smiles on their faces. It is, without a doubt, one of the best decisions we have made for them.

The staff's dedication is unparalleled. At every parents' evening, I am genuinely moved by the depth of their character assessments; they truly know and celebrate our daughters as individuals. The dynamic learning structure ensures that no two days are alike, leaving the girls energized and brimming with new knowledge. Even the 'parent guilt' of long days (8 am-6 pm) has vanished-in fact, on the days I pick them up early, they are genuinely disappointed to miss 'Afternoon Tea' with their friends. Little Lyndhurst is more than a school; it is a community where our children are thriving!

Signing my daughter up to Pre-Reception was the best decision I have ever made. It's so much more than just childcare from 8am - 6pm. The structure of the day (with a school timetable and proper lessons) is so beneficial preparing the little ones for the big school - Reception. My daughter has already learnt phonics, she is learning how to form letters correctly and she has been using basic Maths skills in real life situations. Furthermore, she has PE, French and Drama with specialist teachers. The staff are wonderful, kind, caring, helpful and encourage the children's independence. Little Lyndhurst children have daily opportunities to socialise, have Afternoon Tea with older children and they know all the teachers from the main school which makes it so much easier for the transition and going up to Reception and then Year 1, etc. I asked my daughter what her favourite thing about Little Lyndhurst is and she said, "Lunch"! That shows that food is amazing too!

A fantastic school! My son is now into his second year at Lyndhurst (reception) and it is one of the best decisions that we have made for him (and us). The school's before and after care is second-to-none, and along with the wonderful teachers and staff means that my son very much enjoys his school day. His academic progress has been rapid, and he has access to a very wide variety of sports and extra-curricular activities. It has been an excellent choice of school.

Our daughter absolutely loves Little Lyndhurst. We really appreciate the structure and breadth of opportunity which the children get. She loves music and French and really enjoys the excellent outdoor play facilities. The teachers are professional and kind and have built up really strong relationships with her. She brings home lovely crafts and really enjoys the stories and reading that Lyndhurst encourages. She has honestly had such a lovely time there. We are very grateful we sent her.

We cannot praise Little Lyndhurst enough, they have treated our boys with so much devotion and care and are now growing into kind caring and polite young boys. Their dedication of our boy's progress, supporting their learning and academic progress in equal measure with their pastoral needs had been second to none.

The practicality of having the extended day has been a huge benefit for us as working parents and supported the boys with their move into school.

My child has thrived within this wonderful environment. We could not recommend Little Lyndhurst more. She has been supported excellently through her early years, which has led to a solid foundation to form for her future education. Her needs have always been met, and the staff have kept us informed throughout her time and journey through the school. Little Lyndhurst, like the rest of the school, is like a family and the children are all so content.

Our three-year-old has settled in wonderfully and loves the school. The teachers and assistants are well organised, friendly, and create an excellent learning environment. The schedules are varied with plenty of opportunities for outdoor playing and learning. My wife and I also love the proximity to the prep school and the interactions the nursery can have with bigger kids especially during after school. The 8am to 6pm wrap-around care is very convenient for two working parents.

Little Lyndhurst is outstanding. They have all the love and care of a top nursery but also include the routine and discipline of school life. This is unique in my experience. It means that by the time children come to leave, they are more than ready for school emotionally and academically. The staff are incredibly caring and kind, the facilities are excellent, especially the outside area. Little Lyndhurst has its own independent space, but is also part of the main school - this has so many advantages. In other nurseries you mainly get nursery staff, here you get excellent teachers, you also have the attention and leadership of a top Headmaster with the children getting included in all suitable main school events. My daughter finished Little Lyndhurst educationally advanced for her age in all areas, ready for “big school” happy and confident. I couldn’t recommend them more highly.

Goswell Job Title: Reception Form Teacher Joined: 2024
Goswell

I’m Miss Goswell, and I’ve been lucky enough to spend the past nine years working in a variety of schools, gaining a wide range of experience along the way. My journey into teaching was driven by coaching special needs children in trampolining. Over time, I’ve found myself gravitating more and more toward working with younger children, as I’ve seen firsthand how important these early stages are in shaping their love for learning.

I absolutely love putting the magic into teaching—creating experiences that make learning fun, exciting, and meaningful. I enjoy immersing children in a story and have been known to bring the stories of Peter Pan and Rapunzel to life. One of my favourite moments this year has been planning a STEM day, where we dived into hands-on projects that sparked curiosity and brought out the wonder in our Lyndhurst family. It’s always such a joy to watch them explore, experiment, and problem-solve together.

Oh, and here’s a fun fact: I once wrestled an alligator. It’s a long story, but definitely one I’m happy to share if you’re ever curious!

Tate

My Name is Mrs Tate. I have been working in early years education for 28 years. I have worked within various settings, including managing Day Nurseries, working as a Teaching Assistant supporting special needs children and supervising after-school clubs and holiday camps. For the past 13 years, I have been working in Independent Schools as a Pre-Prep Teacher or Lead of a Pre-School class.

I have always wanted to work with children since I was at school myself. I particularly enjoy preparing children for formal schooling. I also love working with like-minded people who are all aiming for the same goal. This is giving the children in our care the best possible experience at the beginning of their school journey.

I have loved working closely with the Reception class within Little Lyndhurst. We often work together, including Community Afternoons, topic-based workshops, celebrating together, productions and free play sessions. This collaboration is beneficial to both age groups, and we have seen such wonderful and positive results from working and learning together.

I love History, reading and music. I use to be in my school’s rock band! That was along time ago…!
