Sunrise Nursery opened on 11th January 2000. They are a family run nursery in 1.5 acres of land just outside the village of Kingston Bagpuize. The nursery cares for a maximum of 113 children per day in six different age-related rooms. There are three entrances, two car parking areas and plenty of outside space. Each room has its own garden with activities and resources suitable for the children’s stage of development. The pre-school has a large outside classroom in which the children spend a great deal of time in all weather.

Sunrise Nursery are opening a new funded term-time only pre-school in September 2025. The pre-school has space for 24 children ranging from 2 ½ to 5 years.
The pre-school will be open 9am to 3pm, with the option of wrap-around care from 8:45am to 9am and 3pm to 3:15pm.

Sunrise Nursery ethos incorporates a child led, holistic approach, encouraging children to think for themselves and learn through experience. Through enabled environments and hands-on learning opportunities, children are free to develop their natural curiosity, creativity and imagination and foster a strong sense of resilience, emotional intelligence and self belief, in a safe, secure environment.

Forty staff, from a wide age range, are employed at Sunrise Nursery. They nurture a positive and enabling working environment in which they value their staff and work hard to retain them; many have been with the nursery for over 15 years. During 2020, a member of staff celebrated 20 years with Sunrise!

The main aims of the nursery are: To provide a warm, fun and stimulating environment in which each child feels secure and happy and in which they can learn from a broad range of experiences. To provide a consistent, caring and professional service that provides a high level of reassurance for parents who leave their children in their care.

Our Daughter attended Sunrise from December 2021 until July 2025. She has absolutely thrived and enjoyed everyday.
We chose Sunrise as it had such a lovely feel, and we loved the outdoor space.


All the staff are so thoughtful, caring and friendly. We as a family were very sad for her last day,

but with the support and guidance from all at Sunrise, she is more than ready for School.


We are delighted that our little boy will be attending next year.

Sunrise has been such a positive experience for both us as parents and my son who has been attending since 2022. Sunrise has very rustic and homely facilities, the children make mess, they play in nature and there is an element of being free and wild which we very much loved. They have a great food
ethic with lots of variety in meals, and instil table manners and routine really well. The outside space and outdoor play is second to none, and such effort is made with interactive activities and games, with song, dance and exercise.
We have been very happy with our experience, and will be sad to say goodbye when he leaves to attend school next month.

My little one is now in the final room, getting ready to start Reception. Watching him grow, learn, and blossom here has been such a wonderful experience. The team is warm, caring, and truly passionate about what they do. I'm so grateful for the love and support they give every day. Highly recommended!

Sunrise has been a fabulous nursery for both our children. All the staff have been excellent at every stage, and I've never worried about leaving my children in their care. The range of activities that the children get to do is also amazing - yoga, football, interactive storytelling, visits from animal
centres - and the outdoor space that they can enjoy at each level is really special.

My child joined Sunrise due to her previous nursery being unable to manage an allergy.
All the staff at Sunrise were incredibly supportive in explaining how they manage allergies and dietary requirements right through to the settle sessions.
My child settled quickly and absolutely has grown to love
the nursery and staff. The extensive gardens give children lots of room to play, grow and learn. The extra curricular activities like yoga and story telling are fab.

Sunrise Nursery has gone above and beyond for my son, and I couldn't be more grateful. The staff are truly amazing - warm, caring, and incredibly supportive. They took the time to understand his needs and helped him grow in confidence, independence, and learning.

We cannot recommend Sunrise enough. All three of our children have been through Sunrise, and they have been a huge part of our lives for almost a decade. The different rooms within the nursery are welcoming and safe, and the staff are consistent in the room they support, allowing the children to form
great bonds directly. The space inside and out is just fantastic, the quality of home-cooked food makes me jealous, and the range of activities carried out at all ages means the children are constantly having fun being educated. The full Sunrise team are approachable and helpful, and you can really see the passion in everything they do.

Sunrise Nursery is extremely accommodating and welcoming. When we had a childcare crisis on one of the days my son is meant to be cared for by my mum, they allowed him to be in the nursery. This was extremely helpful, knowing he was somewhere he loves.

It is such a wonderful nursery, and we absolutely love it! When visiting a lot of different options, we were rather underwhelmed with nurseries locally until arriving at Sunrise. The children have an incredible amount of space, both indoors and outdoors, tailored to their age and needs. The staff are
so warm and nurturing to the children, and the management is also fantastic. Our little one cannot wait to go there in the morning, and we love seeing her happy face at both pick-ups and drop-offs!

Wouldnt hesitate to recommend Sunrise to other families! The staff are wonderful and work so hard to provide a large array of activities and experiences for the children. They have managed to create a very homely environment and genuinely care about the children, and want them to have a great time.
The outdoor areas are full of things for the children to explore, and the older rooms have bikes and scooters available, which my son has loved. Sunrise has also hugely helped with my fussy eater, and he has tried so many new foods with his friends, from cottage pie to lentil dhal and fish pie. Things I couldn't dream of getting him to eat at home! Through challenging times such as Covid and heat waves, the Sunrise family have been very professional and always works hard to keep the children safe and happy. We also enjoy the app updates and appreciate how much information we get at pick-up. A very special place.

Our daughter loves coming to Sunrise Nursery. It feels safe and secure. The staff in the baby room nurtured her and supported her when the time came for me to return to work. The baby toddler room has been great to progress her development, and the transition was managed very well. The staff really
understand the children and their different needs, likes and dislikes and encourage them to be little explorers. Communication between staff and parents is exceptional.
