The Avenues Montessori Nursery, situated in the Cliftonville community of Margate, offers a nurturing and welcoming home-from-home environment for all children. The setting follows a Montessori approach to education, which prioritises the growth and development of each child, in a supportive and engaging space designed for them to learn and thrive.

The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for your child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes, inspired by the Montessori approach, fostering meaningful connections between children and the world around them and helping to equip children with valuable skills and deeper knowledge of the cooking process.

The well-resourced and stimulating nursery comprises two rooms with free-flow access into a garden space. Babies begin in the Caterpillar Room, which provides a calm and nurturing environment that supports each child's individual learning, development and wellbeing. The room features a private courtyard garden where children can explore at their own pace.

As children become more confident, they progress to the Butterflies Room, designed for Pre-School aged children. Here, the team support children prepare with their upcoming transition to school while offering more structured learning and activities including maths, language and a dedicated Montessori area. The large garden provides ample space for children to play and run around with their friends.

At The Avenues, children benefit from exploring without limits, taking risks and extending their social and physical skills. They have access to a beautiful Forest School and the Montessori approach to teaching emphasises hands-on learning and collaborative play, giving children the opportunity to make creative choices about what they want to learn.

My daughter has been attending this nursery shortly after we moved to the area in 2022. After initially starting her in a different nursery, we soon realised that she was miserable. We are so glad we then found The Avenues, because she settled in almost immediately and she's been happy at nursery ever
since. Our daughter adores the staff, who are always supportive and work incredibly hard to make sure the children are safe, happy and learning. We will be sad to leave in September when our daughter starts school.

The Avenues Montessori Nursery is an outstanding nursery, my son loves each and every day he attends and the staff are extremely informative in all aspects from his day-to-day activities even what he's eaten etc. Highly recommended.

We recently relocated to the UK and were naturally worried about how our little son would fit into his new environment. After a few days, our son had settled in nicely, enjoying the great facilities, designed for “ little people” and the excellent care and attention given to him by the teachers and
support staff at the nursery. The nursery is well run and organised, creating an awesome atmosphere for the little people while helping them develop themselves through the process. I would highly recommend the nursery to anyone considering a quality nursery school for their children.

The staff were all very friendly and informative. They gave me a comprehensive update on both of my children's progress so far and the plans for the future. The facilities were excellent and very clean. I was also pleased with the child-focused style of the nursery and would recommend it to any parent,

My daughter loves this nursery, and I have no complaints about the care she receives there, it's second to none. My only critic would be that I don't get the updates on the app throughout the day, I often get them in the evening, or once she's left for the day. I, therefore, can't see what she's eaten
when she passed stools etc. My daughter suffers from constipation and is a fussy eater so it's good to see these things, so I can plan accordingly. It would also be nice to see what she's doing there more regularly, as I don't receive many updates. Great, clean, friendly, supportive nursery though and I'm looking forward to her developing throughout her final year there.

My little girl loves it here. She settled in really well has not long been in the bigger room, settling in really well in that transition too. Staff are polite and friendly, nursery is very clean I recommend it to friends and family.

My child absolutely loves this nursery, although I just wish I had more photos and updates during his day as I never see any pictures of him throughout the day. That is the only thing I can comment on though he looks forward to going and is happy when he comes home.

The girls in the caterpillar room are fantastic, always smiling and cheerful. Two members of staff, in particular, always give a great handover at the end of the day which is very much appreciated as a parent. I feel confident in my child being under their care and never have to worry whilst at work
as their communication is fantastic. The app also helps greatly to keep track of my child's day while I am at work. My only neutral comment would be for the nap times to be put on the app, as often at pick-up time it's not on there yet. Otherwise, fantastic. Thanks, ladies.

Outstanding staff. So friendly, creative, energetic, patient, and caring. My son adores all the staff and tells me what he's been doing with them each day with such affection. The setting is cheerful and the outdoor space is fantastic for exploring.

The Avenues is a phenomenal nursery. It was a no brainier to put our second child in after our first had such good care. Our second child has SEND requirements and the nursery staff have gone above and beyond to ensure he is well cared for. I cannot recommend this nursery highly enough!

We could not recommend the nursery more highly! Our older daughter spent three years at The Avenues, our youngest has been at the nursery since she was five months old and they both adore it. The staff go above and beyond to ensure that your children settle into the nursery quickly and that you are
well-informed. Every single member of staff knows the children and families so well and welcome you in each morning with a smile and a chat. The feedback you receive daily is so personal and their love of their jobs shines through. The quality of provision across both rooms is so high and the communication around what they have done and are doing is detailed so we are able to continue the learning and experiences at home. We are forever grateful for what the nursery have done and continue to do to support our children in all aspects of their development. Thank you to the manager and her amazing team x

Hello, I'm Zoe and I'm the Nursery Manager here at The Avenues Montessori Nursery. I am qualified for NVQ Level 3 in Childcare in Education.


I am an extremely dedicated and passionate individual who seeks to empower and inspire my team to ensure children have the most exceptional experience during their time with us via our enabling environments and high-quality teaching. Together with our amazing families, I strongly believe we can work together to create something wonderful – a secure and safe foundation for children, providing children with the skills needed to thrive in all future endeavours.
