We have been so happy with Kindred Wheathampstead Nursery & Pre-school.
The staff are wonderful and dedicated to getting the best out of every child in their care.

They have worked incredibly hard with my daughter to build her confidence, transform her separation anxiety and continue to support her in any areas she needs further help.

Currently have my 1 year old daughter at nursery. They were very flexible and accommodating when we had to push back her place a couple of months due to me finding a new job.
The staff are amazing, initially, I was really apprehensive about leaving her and worried about how she was going to settle in. I had nothing to worry about, they keep me updated on her and she goes in with a smile every day. She clearly feels happy and safe there as I never have any problem dropping her off. I get pictures of her having fun every day, which I love. They encourage her learning and development through play which is what we wanted.
On the rare occasions she has been off-colour or unwell, they have called me to let me know and ask me how I want to handle it, using a common sense approach. The facilities are great and she always comes back clean, full and happy. It enables me to be able to focus on my work and not worry about her well-being.

Really impressed and would recommend to anyone.

Friendly and non-pretentious, with staff who care. Have sent both our kids here since 2018 to present, given their different ages, and always been happy.

Caring and great value for money, with varied food.

My daughter started off in the baby room when she was 9 months old. Leaving your child when they are so little is not an easy thing but the amazing team in the baby room made it such a smooth transition while I returned to work. They took care of her like their own, nurtured her and put so much love into what they do. Her key worker was like a second mum to her, I always trusted she was in the best hands. She is now thriving in the toddler room where she has the best team of amazing ladies looking after her, including her latest wonderful key worker who she adores. I love how creative they encourage my daughter to be and all the different activities on offer each day. They support her needs and encourage her independence and are always on hand to offer advice for an ever demanding 2 year. Thank you to management and your amazing team. We wouldn’t be without you.

Kindred Wheathampstead Nursery & Pre-school is fantastic - I moved my 1-year-old here in January from another nursery, due to a house move, and could not be happier with the change. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and hugely championing of my son. Their sickness policy has a human touch element which I've not found in previous nurseries. They have a really lovely approach to learning and play, could not recommend it more highly!

Amy Matthews
Hello, my name is Amy.

I have been working in Childcare since I finished college at age 18.

I have recently worked in a Nursery for 16 years before moving to Kindred Wheathampstead in December 2022. I started as Room Manager in the Baby room before being promoted to Deputy Manager in March 2024. I am really enjoying learning new skills and having more responsibilities within the Nursery. I have worked with children aged from 3 months to 5 years, but my passion is definitely working with babies, as I find that they are all individuals, and it’s amazing watching them develop as they grow up.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, especially my seven-year-old nephew, who loves football just as much as I do. I am looking forward to many more years here at Kindred Wheathampstead, extending my knowledge in my Childcare career.
