New Beginnings are a brilliant nursery who go above and beyond to get to know each child personally and cater to their needs. My son has been with the nursery since he was 9 months old and it's been brilliant. They have worked on his speech and confidence and have recognised the things he loves, like
puzzles, and helped encourage this. I love the introduction earlier this year of a reading journal - a great addition for the parents and children. The girls are absolutely amazing and do an incredible job of making you feel so comfortable and keep things professional whilst creating an amazing culture of warmness and love, you can see how much they care about the children. I've never once worried about my son at nursery as I know he loves it!

From day one, my daughter has been extremely happy at New Beginnings. She's always coming home with arts and crafts, singing songs they've learnt and talking about her friends and carers. The staff are lovely and attentive. I love receiving updates via the Parent Zone app. I highly recommend this nursery.
It's a truly happy place where your child is in safe hands.

My son has been at New Beginnings since August 2021. Firstly, the nursery has been incredibly flexible with us in terms of accommodating changes in hours due to my employment. He initially attended two days a week and it took him a while to settle, but staff were very patient with him and he now leaps
out of my arms to go to them at drop off! He loves going there now, and we have really noticed a difference in his development. The nursery nurses are excellent and I feel extremely comfortable knowing how much they care for him. It is a small nursery, and it shows how they treat adults and children alike as part of the family. They have happily accommodated us in our parenting choices, such as using cloth nappies in the nursery setting, and have been excellent in meeting a dietary requirement our son has unfortunately developed.
We are so glad we picked New Beginnings and really appreciate their input & involvement in our sons upbringing.

My daughter has been going to New Beginnings since she was 9 months old in the baby room, she is now 3 in preschool and she loves it. I originally chose it because it was smaller and had a nice cosy family vibe and it has not disappointed. The staff there are fantastic and my daughter always comes home
happy from that days events.

We love New Beginnings. The fact that our son runs in every morning without a second look at us speaks volumes. All of the staff are attentive and caring, and this shows in the special relationship my son has with his key workers, and the other staff. The thoughtful activities they carry out, creating
seasonal cards, nativity etc are all just a lovely added bonus for us. Leaving my son and going back to work was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do, but I feel so much better knowing he is in an environment that he loves. I've already confidently recommended New Beginnings to lots of friends and will continue to do so.

My son has been attending New Beginnings since he was one and this will be his last year with them before he starts school in September. I cannot recommend this nursery and the staff enough, they are the loveliest bunch of ladies and they care so much for every child under their care. My son has formed
some lovely bonds with his key workers and with all the other children. There is lots of outdoor play, free play and creative activities as well as local outdoor trips. He has a lovely time when he goes to nursery and we’ll be very sad when September comes next year

Since our son began at New Beginnings when he had just turned 1 we have watched him grow into this confident, bright and content little person which is mostly down to the care and attention provided by all the staff at the nursery. When we first viewed nurseries to place him when I returned to work
I instantly felt at ease with the environment and the attention to detail of the nursery and ever since leaving him on his first day that feeling has been proven to be well placed as he has become such a fun loving, talented and independent spirit and he truly loves all the staff. This is without doubt a special place for anyone looking to find the right fit for themselves and their child.

New Beginnings has become a comforting second home for my daughter who has been attending New beginnings for two plus years now.
All of the staff are lovely and it’s very rewarding to hear what my daughter has been up to throughout the day, plus the fact they have CCTV just for us parents to look
at as an added extra for our nerves.
The recent Nativity organised by all the members of staff and of course, all of the children was brilliant.
The way the children walked in and sat down, took their places at the front of the church was lovely to see, especially the singing. I’m so pleased with my daughter's journey at New Beginnings.
I highly recommend, securing a visit here if your child is needing a nursery placement.

I recently attended my son’s first nativity play and the amount of hard work the New Beginnings Team have put into teaching the children the songs and actions is incredible. My son was singing the songs throughout the day for the last couple of weeks, he was doing the actions in the car (even whilst
writing this review he is singing one of the songs!)


The Nativity was wonderful and the children were having an amazing time, I have been so impressed with the nursery from the first time I stepped into there, the team are incredible, they work so hard, they’re loving and caring to all the children and it truly is a fantastic nursery, my son is learning new things every day and I cannot thank them enough for all they do.

Our daughter attended New Beginnings Nursery and we would recommend it. She attended the Little Explorers Room and all the staff were so caring, her key carer was so patient and so great with our daughter. The owners, managers and all the staff get to know the children and make you feel welcome as a
family. There is always fun and laughter at nursery and the children are always smiling. The food is cooked fresh by the chef and there are always lots of things for the children to do. The only reason for leaving the nursery is because we have moved country otherwise we would have stayed until she goes to school, she was so happy there. It is an excellent nursery - thank you so much to everyone!

My daughter went to New Beginnings when she was one years old and was with them till she was two and a half years old. New Beginnings is an extremely professional and caring nursery. During her time here, I saw my daughter grow physically, mentally and emotionally. I have the highest regard for the
care they provide, the staff are extremely honest and genuinely interested in the well-fare of the kids. It is a safe and happy place for kids. I give New Beginnings my highest recommendation.

Our two arrive at and leave nursery extremely happy, proving that they've had a lovely day and are well looked after. They're also very tired, proving they've has plenty of physical and mental stimulation. The staff have been brilliant with dealing with dietary requirements and I know if I need to talk
about anything the manager and the team are happy to chat on the phone, at the gate or by email. The webcam and ParentZone app are great for getting an insight into what they're up to and helps me to know what activities I can continue at home to aid their development.

I cannot praise New Beginnings enough. We were advised to start our son at nursery due to significant concerns with delayed development. I was nervous about this due to various other concerns with weight, skin and generally being quite small. It was the best decision I could have made! Within less than
a month he was walking, talking and more confident. The staff are amazing and go above and beyond for him. He has flourished so much thanks to them and I will be forever grateful. There is a real family atmosphere there.

Really lovely nursery with a family feel to it. The staff are brilliant with the children and seem genuinely pleased to be there. They make lots of effort with occasions ie Halloween and Christmas.
I always feel confident leaving my son at the nursery. He is safe and well educated and looked after.
I would also like to add that they have handled the COVID19 situation exceptionally and are doing great work ensuring its as normal as possible for the children.

New Beginnings were our top choice, our twin boys started here at 6-months-old, and are now three! They will be continuing until the time comes for them to go to school! New Beginnings have been amazing, and the staff are all fantastic, your child is at the heart of everything they do here, not only
do they provide the utmost care, they always go the extra mile too! Not to sound cheesy, but I can honestly say it’s more than just a nursery, it’s more like a little family! With regular updates on the parent portal, you always know where your child is as development, which is fab. One of my children has to wear a patch, and honestly, without the support from their bigs room staff, I can honestly say he wouldn’t wear it as he won’t put it on for me! They have helped us through the good time’s and the bad times, and we have always felt their support when needed most. I know when the boys go to big school, it’s not just them that will miss you guys! I will too!

Lovely environment for children. Staff really do their utmost best to help the children have fun, learn and excel. I have noticed a huge difference in the year and few months my child has been there her talking has come along, relationship building, creativity and her learning.
Love the home-cooked
meals she has all very similar to what we have at home and such a wide variety!
They have been absolutely amazing during these difficult times, understanding, informative and honest just what you need when for everyone things are forever changing and the unknown.

Both my children attend/have attended. I trust them 100% and feel very comfortable leaving them at nursery. The staff are like family, so friendly, supportive and caring to our whole family. We had a great feeling about the nursery when we first visited and it's gone above our expectations. Would totally
recommend new beginnings. We are going to be sad when our youngest leaves to start school.

With over 16 years of dedicated experience in childcare, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the care and development of children. I hold an NVQ Level 3, a Foundation Degree, a BA (Hons), and EYPS (Early Years Professional Status), all of which reflect my deep commitment to early years education. Additionally, I am fully trained in Forest School principles, promoting outdoor learning and exploration, and I hold a First Aid certification to ensure the safety and well-being of every child in my care. As a proud mother of two daughters, I understand the importance of nurturing and fostering a loving, supportive environment. My professional and personal experiences have equipped me to provide exceptional childcare tailored to each child’s needs.

Gary Thompson

Gary has been the Managing Director of NB since 2017. With a genuine passion for early years education, he’s built strong, positive relationships with the nursery management, the wider team, and most importantly, the children.


Gary regularly visits the nursery and truly enjoys seeing the team thrive in a happy, nurturing environment. He takes great joy in watching the children grow, develop, and flourish during their time with us—knowing they are loved, supported, and encouraged every step of the way.


He is an active and hands-on leader, frequently involved in many aspects of nursery life. Over the years, Gary has spent time in every room, working alongside practitioners, supporting children from babies right through to preschool. This direct experience has given him a deep understanding of the important role nursery practitioners play in a child’s development.


Outside of work, Gary brings valuable personal insight as both a father and grandfather. With six grown-up children (four daughters and two sons) and six grandchildren (three girls and three boys), his life experience further enriches his appreciation for the work done in early years education.


Gary often says one of his happiest moments is walking into the nursery and being warmly greeted by smiling children and a positive, dedicated team. He is incredibly proud of what the nursery achieves—both in the day-to-day care and in the long-term development of each child—and of the trust families place in the team to support their little ones.
