Sunshine Montessori Nursery is situated in Wheeler End in the beautiful Old Village Schoolhouse. It is a Montessori nursery with a focus on supporting children to become curious and independent learners. Children of every age also attend the forest school which is a short walk from nursery - they have just started a nursery allotment.

There are three rooms in the nursery, two more cosy, intimate rooms for babies and toddlers and a lovely large and airy preschool room.

The team are committed to providing nutritious, healthy menus and all the children's food is made fresh on site every day.

The nursery has developed a wonderful and enriching partnership with the local care home which is facilitated by Kiddleydivey. The partnership means children visit their buddies in the care home each week where the old and young participate in lots of fun activities together.

    Mornings - 8am-1pm - cost: £45.50.
    Afternoons - 1pm-6pm - cost: £45.50.
    Full day- 8am-6pm - cost £81.
    Discounted rate for 5 full days is £364.50 per week.
    There is the option of an early start at 7.30am for an additional charge of £5

Sunshine Montessori Nursery is a wonderful nursery; the staff genuinely care and cannot do enough for the children - nothing is a hassle for them. It very much feels like a family and my son loves spending his days there. He particularly enjoys forest school and thrives under the Montessori ethos.
Over the years, the staff have really helped my son develop and have even provided extra care, support or help where needed. I cannot thank them enough.

Two of our children have flourished through Sunshine, and we have our third starting later this year. The staff make this nursery a home-from-home feel with their warmth and love for the children. We couldn’t have been happier with Sunshine and look forward to being a part of the Sunshine family again

My daughter attended Sunshine full-time from the age of 13 months, and we had a great experience. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, and the children were always happy. We stayed with Sunshine all the way through, and the top room team did a great job at prepping my daughter for school. We have our
new baby's name down to start this September and didn't even consider sending her anywhere else.

An amazing nursery - I could not have chosen a better place for my child.
Leaving your most precious at such a small age is the hardest thing - but the staff at the nursery were so caring and loving to my son that it made me feel totally at ease. It has such a homely feel; the staff know all the children/parents
and are so accommodating to any needs that we had. He had such a great bond with his key worker, and he went in so happy to go find her.
The children always seem to have new and exciting activities to do, and I love the Montessori aspect. It is beautiful to watch them all playing and be so relaxed and content in their surroundings.
My son especially loved being outdoors on many walks, his favourites being the village shop to regular amazing forest school adventurers.
Lots of communications from the nursery helped me keep up to date, and the online record gave me such an insight into my child’s experiences - I loved looking at the photos.
Highly recommended to all!

We’ve been at Sunshine for a number of years now. The staff are a real asset to the nursery. They are wonderful with the children and offer a real nurturing, kind, happy environment.
It has good facilities, and although lacking a ‘grassy’ outdoor area, this is compensated by regular walks and visits
to the local forest school, allotment and nearby fields.
Menus are changed often, and children are given a wide variety of foods to try.

Sunshine Montessori Nursery is like an extension of our home and family. Both my children have attended the nursery between 2018 to the present. The staff go above and beyond to treat your child in a caring and nurturing way which helps them to thrive in this brilliantly equipped environment. The weekly
topics and content of the sessions are varied and provide the children with the chance to explore and learn in a fun and engaging way. Due to the lovely location, the opportunities the children get include things like weekly Forest School sessions, educational walks to the local farm shop and visits to people in the local community. All these are invaluable experiences, and you can tell the children love their little trips out, either on foot or in the buggy. I can't recommend Sunshine enough, and I think the fact that my husband and I felt emotional when our eldest moved up to school says alot about what a special relationship you develop with the Sunshine family.

Both my girls went to Sunshine, and I can’t speak highly of the care both my precious girls had at the nursery from only three months old. The children are at the heart of this nursery, and during Covid, it was so hard, but they made the children the priority.
Both my girls are at school; they prepared
them with lots of independence. They started school knowing the basics of writing their name but with bags of confidence.
The staff are incredible; they honestly treat the children like their own.
Very happy memories shared where each day my children still to this day remember the time shared.

Sunshine in Wheeler End is everything I could have wanted for my daughter in her early years of life and education. From the love and care in the baby room to the fun in the toddler room and the introduction of school activities in the top room. All the carers are so dedicated, and it is obvious that
they enjoy doing their job and love every single child at the nursery.
Even though they haven’t got a huge outdoor playing area outside, they use the common and the Forrest school as much as possible, which gives the children a lot of contact with nature and a lot of fun.
The transition from one room to the other is always very supportive, and you get daily feedback on how your little ones are doing.
We loved our time at Sunshine, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a Montessori nursery.

We’ve had children at Sunshine for over 6.5 years. We love Sunshine and couldn’t rate it highly enough. The staff are so caring and considerate - you feel so safe knowing your children are in their hands. The kids love it too. They are stimulated and challenged every day. We really do regard Sunshine
as an extension of our family.
The Montessori way of teaching works very well, and the staff do a great job tailoring the theory to each and every child. When our eldest left the nursery and went to school, they transitioned perfectly with no problems - this was a credit to Sunshine for preparing them so well.
