Acorns Day Nursery is a privately owned, family-run nursery based in Winnersh, Berkshire. The nursery is beautifully decorated, well equipped and very homely, offering a nurturing environment which allows children to learn through exploration and play. The children are encouraged to learn through planned purposeful play experiences which offer a balance of adult-led and child-initiated activities supported by a high staff-to-child ratio.
The setting offers free flow onto an outdoor all-weather play area, providing an outdoor extension to the nursery environment. They follow the Early Years Foundation Stage with a particular focus on a child-centred approach nurturing each child's needs, interests and learning styles enabling them to become independent learners and reach their full potential. Offering specialist classes with a French teacher supporting language learning along with a drama teacher, the children take part in regular dance and drama sessions. The nursery is registered with OFSTED and achieved a 'Good' rating in January 2022.
The dedicated experienced team provides a stimulating environment. Each child is assigned a key person, their role is to help ensure that the child's care is tailored to meet their individual needs. Working in partnership with parents, staff build strong relationships with the children and their families where all staff along with the management team know all the children well.
They offer an all-inclusive package which includes nappies, wet wipes, sun cream, meals and formula milk.

Our daughter loved her time at Acorns Day Nursery. Through her two years at the nursery, she attended both the baby and toddler room. The staff were always friendly, welcoming and had lots of time for the children in their care. Our daughter was happy to go in every morning and was always greeted by a friendly face. The communication through the app was excellent and we really enjoyed seeing updates of what our daughter was doing. It was great to see such a wide range of experiences that staff carefully selected to aid the development of the children.

The staff were always kind and caring and they have done a really good job of helping to get her ready for school. They went out of their way to help her when she needed it and I cannot thank them enough for that.

Our daughter went there from May 2018 to just before she started school this September 2021. The managers and the team looked after her and all the kids like family. It was amazing to watch her grow into a strong, happy, independent little girl. The environment there was perfect for her and she flourished. They always did amazing activities in order to keep the children engaged and learning in a really fun way. The online journal was fantastic as it gave a detailed record of what they were doing and even eating which I found helpful but also so fun to see how she was getting on. The preparation they did to get her ready for school was brilliant and when the day came for her first day at school she headed off without a care in the world. I would highly recommend this nursery!

We sent both of our children to Acorns Day Nursery and would recommend the service to anyone looking for a nurturing, supportive and loving environment for their children. Our children had the most positive experience which helped them for the next stages in their lives. The daily programme is inventive and creative meaning the children are constantly stimulated and learn lessons that are the foundations for all of their future experiences.
The team is attentive and knowledgeable and always happy to offer support to both children and parents. I am very happy with the experience and support we had as a family over a 5 and a half years period.

We couldn't have asked for a better nursery. It has a real at home feel, the staff are fabulous and so caring. Our daughter has really flourished in the time she has been there and has come on leaps and bounds. Definitely the place for us and so worth it.

I can’t say enough how great all the staff and team are at Acorn Day Nursery. They make you feel comfortable and like nothing is too much to ask, especially as a working single mum. They have been a great addition to my child's learning development and her becoming the character she is. They always keep you update with information of what events are coming up and on the parent app of what your child is up to on the days they go, which is great and puts your mind at ease knowing your child is learning and having great fun at the same time.

My two children have been going to Acorns Day Nursery for nearly 18 months and both are extremely happy. To be able to drop them off in the morning and leave knowing they are happy and don’t even know I’ve left is such a reassurance when leaving them for work! They talk about their friends and staff regularly at home which shows me how comfortable they are at nursery. All the staff are friendly and welcoming and I’ve had not one complaint since the day they started. Very pleased with my choice of nursery, having viewed all nurseries in the area this was the only one I felt comfortable to leave my children!
