Since 2016, I have been the Director of Little Stars Preschool Nursery, overseeing overall operations, staff deployment, and ensuring compliance with EYFS standards.
With over 20 years of experience in childcare, I have worked with children aged birth to 8 years across various settings, including nurseries, Montessori schools, childminding, reception classes, and babysitting. My expertise extends to supporting children with special educational needs and understanding the expectations of children, parents, and carers to deliver exceptional care and education.
In 2016, I completed a Level 5 foundation degree, qualifying as a Deputy Manager. I took on the role of Director in January 2017 and, as of June 2024, I also serve as Manager, Safeguarding Officer, and SENCO.
I am deeply passionate about fostering children’s healthy development and providing them with a strong foundation for future success. My creative strengths—including playing music, Zumba dancing, painting, and computing—fuel my dedication to creating an engaging and nurturing environment for children.
Fluent in English and Sinhalese, with a good understanding of Hindi, I am able to connect effectively with diverse families and foster strong relationships.
Devishna has been with Little Stars Preschool for over 9 years as a key worker and currently working as a trainee deputy manager/room leader. She is highly creative and excels at building positive relationships with children, parents, and staff. Devishna also plays a vital role in supporting children with SENCO needs, promoting positive behaviour, and helping them reach their full potential. Her primary focus is on teaching children discipline while instilling confidence, ensuring they feel comfortable approaching her as a nurturing, motherly figure. Additionally, she assists the manager in the day-to-day operations of the nursery. Her greatest strength lies in safeguarding, and she is one of the safeguarding leads in the setting. She is fluent in both English and Hindi.
Sheetal joined Little Stars Preschool in September 2024 as the Room Leader for the toddler room. She is an experienced staff member with over 6 years of childcare experience across various settings. Sheetal holds a Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce (Skillsfirst).
Her strengths include her remarkable patience and skill in working with children who have additional needs. As one of the SEN Coordinators at Little Stars Preschool, Sheetal plays a vital role in supporting children with additional needs through one-to-one sessions and tailored interventions.
In addition to her professional expertise, Sheetal is bilingual and speaks both English and Gujarati, enhancing her ability to communicate effectively with children and families from diverse backgrounds. Her interest is in introducing sensory play to children.
Owen joined Little Stars Preschool Nursery in June 2024 as a Business Administrator in Early Years Apprentice. He is working towards Level 3 Business Administrator in Early Years. He supports the Director/Manager to ensure the smooth operation and continuous improvement of the nursery business.
Owen’s responsibilities include managing daily administrative tasks such as maintaining records, updating systems, and handling correspondence with families and staff. He assists in planning and implementing strategies to improve processes and ensure the setting runs efficiently.
With a focus on customer service, Owen builds strong relationships with parents and caregivers through clear communication and timely support.
Through his apprenticeship, Owen gained valuable experience in business operations while developing organizational, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. He actively supports the management team in identifying and implementing improvements to enhance the quality and efficiency of the nursery.
Owen is an enthusiastic and proactive team member, committed to learning and contributing to the success of the setting.
Chapa joined Little Stars Preschool Nursery in December 2024 as an EY Marketing Assistant, where she contributed to promoting the setting through social media, events, and other channels to attract new families.
While excelling in her marketing role, Chapa developed a keen interest in supporting the team as an Early Years Educator. As a result, in January 2025, she began working toward her Level 3 Early Years Apprenticeship, blending her passion for childcare with her commitment to supporting the nursery's growth and development.
Her strengths include being a quick learner with a strong ability to adapt to new tasks and responsibilities. Chapa is proactive, eager to contribute to the team, and shows great potential in both marketing and early years education.
Purviban joined Little Stars Preschool in January 2020 as a volunteer while working towards her CACHE Level 2 qualification. In September 2021, she progressed to complete her CACHE Level 3 qualification as a staff member and key worker for children aged two years. She is now a fully qualified Level 3 practitioner who has 5 years of childcare experience in Little Stars Preschool Nursery.
Purvi's strengths include creating a nurturing environment that helps young children settle smoothly when they join the setting. Her calm and empathetic approach allows her to connect easily with children, especially those experiencing emotional challenges. She effectively supports and encourages them to develop self-confidence.
Purvi also excels in promoting physical development by providing the right resources and fostering active engagement. Additionally, she helps little ones communicate more freely, building their language and social skills.

Kavusiya holds a BSc in Health and Social Care and is currently working towards her Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification.
Her strengths include helping young children settle into the setting and ensuring the smooth running of the preschool. Kavusiya connects easily with children, particularly when addressing emotional behaviour, and supports them in building self-confidence.
She excels in communication with the team, children, and parents, fostering positive relationships. Kavusiya is fluent in three languages—English, French, and Tamil—enabling her to connect with a diverse range of families. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to music and engaging in creative activities with the children.
Niranjala joined Little Stars Preschool Nursery Ltd in October 2023 as a Level 2 Apprentice, initially as a volunteer. She has currently completed her NCFE CACHE Level 2 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner Apprenticeship and is working towards achieving her Level 3.
Now, as an Early Years Practitioner, she works with children aged 3 to 4 years old. Her strengths include leading circle time by singing songs, reading stories, and planning activities in line with the EYFS framework.
