I can't speak highly enough of the team at Building Blocks. From start to finish they have been supportive, caring and have always had my daughter's best interests at heart. There is a warm culture in the nursery that I know has enabled her to feel confident and embrace her time there. The extra activities including forest school have been a big hit as have the regular outings they take the children on. We'll be forever thankful our daughter's first nursery experience was such a positive one.
Thank you so much for the lovely feedback. It has been a pleasure having you all as part of the Building Blocks family and we are thrilled that yours and your daughter's first experience at nursery has been so positive and we wish her all the best as she embarks on her next chapter.
He was assigned one member of staff, in particular, as his keyworker and even after she had moved rooms my son still loved her with was testament to how she helped him settle in. The process that BB have that means your keyworker visits you at home and then having a few 'play dates' externally really helped him build a bond with her.
Having seen a number of nurseries before almost immediately deciding on this one (thanks to the deputy manager for giving the best tour!) I've never regretted it. I've never had any major concerns and most importantly my son has really thrived there. He's made friends, loved the staff and he's been safe and happy - for me that's a win all round.
Thank you so much for your feedback. We are so pleased you had such a positive experience with us and wish you all the best in the future.
Building Blocks Nursery has been brilliant for our children as they've grown from babies to primary school kids. The staff are always welcoming and we are completely confident letting them look after our kids; the kids are keen to go there. The early years education pre-school was invaluable in helping getting ready for school and the wrap-around care was invaluable. We are sad to leave. There are too many staff to thank individually - but thank you all!
We have absolutely loved Building Blocks and my child will be sad to leave everyone there when she starts school. She has been there from Beautiful Babies and throughout each stage of her Early Years experience, Building Blocks has cared for her and helped her thrive. She has had wonderful learning experiences, and access to amazing extracurricular activities and trips and has developed wonderful relationships with the staff and her peers there. We have been so happy with the quality of her care there, that we recommend the nursery to everyone.
Very supportive childcare team, my daughter loves to go there for after-school clubs and holiday clubs. She had lots of fun with the staff, they provided different activities and trips for children. Highly recommended.
Building Blocks Childcare Teddington has been wonderful for our family. My eldest has attended since September 2022 and has had the best time. She entered in the Premier Pre-school and is now in the Nursery. The extracurricular activities are fantastic (forest school, ballet, swimming, sports and drama). The teachers and staff are attentive, kind and caring. The food is also fresh every day and delicious! Our youngest has just begun her Building Blocks journey and is in the Top Toddlers. From the initial home visits to the settles, to the day-to-day running, I can’t fault them! We are really grateful to have such a wonderful nursery on our doorstep.
We first moved to Wimbledon a few years ago. Building Blocks have played a big part in helping us through our journey of settling in our children and enabling us as parents to find our feet. My youngest was 4 months and Building Blocks did an amazing job in providing the care and support needed so we could focus on our day-to-day commitments. Our kids have thoroughly enjoyed their time at Building Block Nursery. We are very thankful to the staff and management for their continued support and assistance throughout our journey. We are very sad to leave BB due to our personal circumstances. We wish we could continue this journey forever however all good things must come to an end as they say.
Both my sons are in Building Blocks Teddington, one in the baby room and one in the nursery (last year before school). Both are incredibly happy. The staff are fantastic and over the years we have built a really good relationship with them and feel they really care for our children. The activities they engage the children with are fantastic and for the older ones, there are so many trips (swimming, forest school as well as library visits and local playgrounds). This combined with the individualised care they receive makes it a really brilliant setting.
Super professional and my son achieves a lot at Building Blocks.
We love them so much and love their hard job.
I can’t thank them enough.
I was quite anxious about enrolling him into a nursery and had been dreading the transition, but the staff made the whole experience so enjoyable. It has been a pleasure to watch them nurture and encourage our little boy every week.
We are incredibly grateful for everything they do and will recommend them to everyone we can!
My daughter has been at Building Blocks since December 2020, and my son is due to start next month. I only have good things to say about the level of care, education and attention to detail my daughter has received. She loves going to nursery and adores her educators. She has flourished into a strong, confident young girl since being at Building Blocks, and I look forward to seeing how she develops further in her final year.
They left my autistic 8yr old at school because they missed him off their register.
I had to leave the office to collect my child.
They graciously refunded the fees for that day and "apologised for any misunderstanding and inconvenience caused".
Disgraceful! Does anyone know if there was a breach of care here?
Thank you for taking the time to share your personal experience of Building Blocks – After School Club. We are sorry that this isolated occurrence has left you feeling that your overall experience of Building Blocks was negative. I have attempted to address this with you personally to reiterate not...
Both our sons were cared for by Building Blocks Childcare since 2016. Our youngest just finished this summer as they will be going to the same school. We have nothing but a positive experience with the nursery and it will sadly be missed. Many of their peers are moving onwards to the same schools which gives them a nice transition to their next journey with the foundations set so well by Building Blocks Childcare.
Amazing, kind, beautiful, loving staff. Made me and my child at ease every day, always there for anything. Extra resources were brought in for my disabled child, whatever he needed. My son has really improved and progressed massively within the 2 years he has been there.
My daughter loves the staff at Building Blocks Nursery. They are very loving, caring and gentle with my daughter. Helpful, understanding and willing to assist in every way they can. I gladly recommend this nursery to anyone. I just want to express my gratitude to the staff.
My daughter began preschool in January 2021 and due to lockdown, had been in contact with very few children. However the carers at Buildong Blocks Childcare Teddington ensured that she was eased into her new surroundings gradually and made to feel welcome. Academically, not only has her vocabulary come on staggeringly but she’s making so much more effort to express her needs and feelings every day. We can also see a massive improvement in her confidence and the way she interacts with her brother at home, which is very clearly a direct reflection of the encouragement to engage with others at nursery. Her enthusiasm to learn grows more each week and it’s just been an all round pleasure to observe. We’re so grateful for the effort and dedication that’s put in and my daughter adores all of the staff. Thank you so much, Building Blocks Childcare Teddington.
My daughter always has a wonderful time at Building Blocks Childcare Teddington and even though she's only currently attending once a week, she always asks if she can go more often! The staff are very kind and thoughtful, I'm always impressed at all the activities they provide and it seems a genuinely lovely environment where my daughter's confidence has really grown.
My daughter attended full-time from 2yrs to school age and my son is currently in the pre-school room having been there since the age of 10months. What makes my children happy to go to Building Blocks Teddington day after day are the fun and nurturing staff. They make huge efforts to create stimulating activities and put a lot of thought into the environment. Before the pandemic the children had regular trips for 'forest school', swimming or just a walk to the garden centre/local train station etc which I really valued. Weekly menus have always impressed me and the kids really enjoy the food. It's well managed from the office admin side too. Where I've wanted key carers to pay particular attention to something they have been very supportive. The outside space isn't as big as I would like but they co-ordinate and rotate well amongst the rooms to make it work well. Building Blocks has been a great start for my kids, thank you.
My two children are currently attending Building Blocks Childcare Teddington and they both love it. The settling in process is thorough and the staff and team really make you feel at ease and confident in leaving your baby with them, they really take the time to get to know your child. The activities my children take part in daily are enriching and exciting and my four year old doesn’t stop talking about what he’s learnt! Building Blocks Childcare Teddington also offer a range of extra curricular activities, such as forest school and swimming, which is a huge bonus. It’s very clear to see how much they are both benefiting from their time here. The staff are all extremely skilled, knowledgeable and caring with a clear passion for early years education.
Both my daughters attend Building Blocks Childcare Teddington. Through the continued care and commitment from their staff, many of which are long standing, they have flourished and are confident learners. Two home cooked meals is a great support, along with the recipes we follow at home too and a big range of extra curricular activities such as forest school and swimming are weekly favourites. Web cameras provide a reassurance and connection if we wanted and for grandparents too. Highly recommend.

Meet the Team (5)
My name is Hannah and I am the Early Years Manager for our Teddington Nursery. Since 2007 I have worked in different childcare settings alongside all age groups, my experiences include working within children and young people with complex needs, within youth centres, respite care, and within Early Years settings. I have been working at Building Blocks since October 2011, starting my journey here as a qualified Key Carer and progressing through to Early Years Manager. I have managed both our Kids Club and the main nursery, myself and Liz, the Kids Club manager, work very closely sharing our strengths and experiences across both programs. I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education and have a wide range of experience supporting children’s development. I am extremely passionate about child and staff development and the environments we provide for the children. I thoroughly enjoy spending time within the classrooms, I find this the most effective way to role model quality teaching, support the development of the classrooms and the environment and it gives me the opportunity to get to know the children within their learning environment.
I have returned from Maternity leave in September 2020, after having my daughter. My son and daughter now both attend Building Blocks and they absolutely love it! Within my role I thoroughly enjoy developing the staff team, the children within the setting and the environment to ensure we provide a stimulating, safe and engaging setting where all children can thrive.
My name is Sandra. I started at Building Blocks in December 2014 and have an NVQ level 3 in Childcare and Education. I also have a Foundation Degree in Early Years. I will be graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Early Years and Teaching next year! I started my role as a Deputy Early Years Manager in September 2018 and am thoroughly enjoying the role of supporting and developing both staff and children. I am part of the Special Educational Needs team and love to support a wide range of children within their Building Blocks journey.
I have been with Building Blocks since it took over the Teddington site in 2006 and became manager of the setting in 2008. I am very proud to have been a part of our two consecutive Outstanding Ofsted inspections at Teddington and acquiring our most recent accolade of being named the NDNA Nursery of the Year for the South of England in 2017, such a personal and professional achievement. As Operations Manager I am responsible for the overall quality, care and education at the nurseries. I directly manage the Early Years Managers, Early Years HR and Early Years Administrator.
I have overall responsibility for the quality, care and education within the nurseries and Kids Clubs as well as all customer service aspects within the company. I work closely alongside Clare Ford, our Operations Manager, who directly oversees the Early Years Managers and ensures that day to day operations run smoothly and continue to meet the high standards that we strive for in our pursuit for excellence. It is extremely important to me that I continue to maintain a presence across both our Wimbledon and Teddington sites through formal observations and informal check-ins with the staff. Being able to see first-hand the level at which we are delivering our curriculum and offering my support and guidance when needed forms a crucial element of our reflective practice.
