My name is Hannah and I am the Early Years Manager for our Teddington Nursery. Since 2007 I have worked in different childcare settings alongside all age groups, my experiences include working within children and young people with complex needs, within youth centres, respite care, and within Early Years settings. I have been working at Building Blocks since October 2011, starting my journey here as a qualified Key Carer and progressing through to Early Years Manager. I have managed both our Kids Club and the main nursery, myself and Liz, the Kids Club manager, work very closely sharing our strengths and experiences across both programs. I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education and have a wide range of experience supporting children’s development. I am extremely passionate about child and staff development and the environments we provide for the children. I thoroughly enjoy spending time within the classrooms, I find this the most effective way to role model quality teaching, support the development of the classrooms and the environment and it gives me the opportunity to get to know the children within their learning environment.
My name is Liz and I am the Early Years Manager for Kids Club Teddington. I have worked at Building Blocks since November 2007. During this time I have gained a vast experience with a range of different ages, developing a wider knowledge and understanding of all age groups from babies up to 11 year olds. During my time at Building Blocks I have been given the opportunity to develop as a professional gaining a Level 5 in Leadership & Management. I have been one of the managers in Teddington since September 2014. I have managed both the Main Building and Kids Club during this time.
I have returned from Maternity leave in September 2020, after having my daughter. My son and daughter now both attend Building Blocks and they absolutely love it! Within my role I thoroughly enjoy developing the staff team, the children within the setting and the environment to ensure we provide a stimulating, safe and engaging setting where all children can thrive.
My name is Sandra. I started at Building Blocks in December 2014 and have an NVQ level 3 in Childcare and Education. I also have a Foundation Degree in Early Years. I will be graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Early Years and Teaching next year! I started my role as a Deputy Early Years Manager in September 2018 and am thoroughly enjoying the role of supporting and developing both staff and children. I am part of the Special Educational Needs team and love to support a wide range of children within their Building Blocks journey.
My name is Clare and I am the Operations Manager for the company. I have over 15 years’ experience within the Early Years Sector, primarily based within nursery settings. I started as a Nursery Assistant back in 2002 and worked my way to the position I hold today! I have experience with all ages ranging from birth to 11 years. During this time I have obtained NVQ levels 3, 4 and 5 in Early Childhood Education, NVQ Levels 4 & 5 in management and have extensive training and experience in Special Educational Needs and Safeguarding.
I have been with Building Blocks since it took over the Teddington site in 2006 and became manager of the setting in 2008. I am very proud to have been a part of our two consecutive Outstanding Ofsted inspections at Teddington and acquiring our most recent accolade of being named the NDNA Nursery of the Year for the South of England in 2017, such a personal and professional achievement. As Operations Manager I am responsible for the overall quality, care and education at the nurseries. I directly manage the Early Years Managers, Early Years HR and Early Years Administrator.
My name is Lotte and I have been with Building Blocks since it opened its doors on the 3rd September 2001. Having just completed my BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies I was eager to put all my knowledge into practice. I started as a Nursery Assistant and worked my way up to become Nursery Manager in January 2004 of our new Kingston Rd site. In April 2008 I was promoted to Senior Manager for the company with the owners temporary move to America. This evolved into my current role of Operations Director as I took on more and more responsibility within the company.
I have overall responsibility for the quality, care and education within the nurseries and Kids Clubs as well as all customer service aspects within the company. I work closely alongside Clare Ford, our Operations Manager, who directly oversees the Early Years Managers and ensures that day to day operations run smoothly and continue to meet the high standards that we strive for in our pursuit for excellence. It is extremely important to me that I continue to maintain a presence across both our Wimbledon and Teddington sites through formal observations and informal check-ins with the staff. Being able to see first-hand the level at which we are delivering our curriculum and offering my support and guidance when needed forms a crucial element of our reflective practice.
