Carville Day Nursery prides itself on being more than just a childcare provider. Staff work closely with parents in order to achieve good outcomes for children. The nursery’s aim is for every child to leave equipped with self-confidence and the tools for them to build on what they have already achieved at Carville.
The curriculum at Carville Day Nursery has been developed to cover all seven areas of learning with a particular focus on communication and language.
Most of the activities are play based and take place both inside the nursery or outdoors. Many of the activities are based on the children’s individual interests.
Weekly write-ups are sent out to parents, showing activities that the children have done during the week.
Carville Day Nursery provides 30 free hours per week over the year for those parents who qualify under the Government’s scheme.

Over the last thirty years, we have taken pride in building and maintaining strong relationships with the children who attend our nursery and their families. We encourage and empower parents to approach us with any concerns they may have and we strive to work collaboratively and constructively to resolve any issues that are raised.
However, we also have a responsibility to ensure that our staff are treated with respect and are able to carry out their roles in a safe and supportive environment. We therefore, will not tolerate rude or disrespectful behaviour to our staff, nor will we take responsibility for matters that take place outside of the nursery environment. Matters that have occurred outside of the nursery premises, particular those that involve alleged illegal activity should be reported to the police and any other relevant authority.
In this instance, the concerns raised have been investigated in full by the local authority and relevant bodies. Following those investigations, no wrongdoing by the nursery was identified, and our policies, practices and procedures were all found to be up to date. Furthermore, all staff members receive safeguarding training, which is updated annually, and hold valid first aid certificates.
It's clear that this parent was not satisfied with the outcome of the investigation by the relevant bodies, and has therefore resorted to spreading lies to try to damage the nursery's extremely good reputation. What's more frustrating is that it's very difficult for a nursery to defend itself in this kind of situation but we find it interesting that this parent holds the nursery in such low regard given she asked to increase her child’s days just days before she was dismissed from the nursery.
We made considerable efforts over a period of almost 6 months to work collaboratively with this parent to address their concerns but matters unfortunately reached the point where staff became apprehensive about interactions for fear of being accused of something they didn’t do.
A relationship between a nursery and its parents only works when it's built on trust and unfortunately, when that trust is broken the relationship cannot continue.
We take the safety and wellbeing of the children in our care extremely seriously. As this review relates to confidential matters concerning children and families, it would be inappropriate for us to discuss the specific circumstances publicly.
We will continue to operate in accordance with our policies responsibilities and relevant regulatory requirements, working collaboratively with our safeguarding partners to ensure that the children in our care, receive the safe, nurturing environment they deserve.

We are so happy that we secured a place for our son at Carville Day Nursery. Our little boy has settled in so well since he started in September, and that is all down to the fantastic and caring staff. The activities in the baby room are brilliantly organised, and you can see how much the kids enjoy the different types of activity, using all their senses and exploring through play. The facilities at the nursery are great including a large outdoor play area, which is unusual for nurseries in London. The food looks great - we get sent a menu every week and I'm often jealous of what they're having! But the best thing about the nursery is the fabulous staff. They clearly care about each child as an individual, and supporting their developmental needs. Having a friendly face to hand your child over to in the morning and seeing how happy he is when we pick him up is just everything. We would thoroughly reccomend the nursery to any prospective parents.

I honestly couldn't be happier with this nursery. My son absolutely loves going, and it shows in how much he's grown and thrived since starting. The SENCO and management team are incredible-so supportive, so patient, and you can tell they really understand and care about each child as an...
The communication is great too; I always know what's going on and how he's doing. Seeing how happy he is every day says it all. I'm really grateful we found this nursery, and I'd recommend it to any parent without hesitation. Would highly recommend to anyone.
