Nestled within the vibrant community of Notting Hill, The Grove Nursery is situated in the beautifully renovated west wing of Westbourne Grove Church. Accessed via the main reception, Paint Pots combines the charm of period architecture with a thoughtfully modern interior designed to inspire and support young learners.

Since September 2021, The Grove has welcomed children aged 1 to 5 years, divided into two carefully prepared Montessori classrooms:

2–5 Year Olds Classroom
This dynamic, mixed-age environment supports children aged 2 to 5 with a full Montessori curriculum. Here, older children naturally take on mentoring roles, fostering leadership and empathy while reinforcing their own learning. The classroom includes a wide range of activities across all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), with dedicated zones for gross and fine motor development, sensorial exploration, language, numeracy, and practical life skills. Advanced Montessori materials empower each child to learn at their pace in a calm and purposeful setting.

1–2 Year Olds Classroom
Designed as a peaceful 'home from home', this classroom caters to a small number of children from 12 to 24 months. The environment offers sensorial experiences that nurture natural curiosity and early development. With soft lighting, natural materials, aromatherapy, and gentle music, the space provides a calm and nurturing atmosphere. Sleeping mats, supported seating, and changing facilities are all included to meet the needs of the youngest children with care and comfort.

A Child-Centred Learning Environment
Across both classrooms, the environment is designed from the child’s perspective — with all materials displayed at their level to encourage independence, exploration, and choice. The approach blends the EYFS with Montessori principles, offering a rich and responsive curriculum that supports every child’s individual growth.

Paint Pots has been like a second home for both our boys. The team felt like family by the time we left for school. I can't recommend this nursery highly enough- how much our children are now thriving in school socially, emotionally and academically must be attributed to Paint Pots. Children come first
at PP - you always know a nursery is good when they try to impress the kids, more than the parents. The food is also outstanding all home cooked by a passionate chef following nutritionists advice. We have only good things to share and hope all future parents will appreciate quite how hard the team works.

My son has been at Paint Pots Bayswater for 2.5 years. The manager is a very passionate headteacher who believes in bringing out the best in her nursery children. Together with her team of caring and wonderful teachers; they encourage children to be kind, creative, and independent. My son always loved
going to nursery and enjoyed the wide range of Montessori activities, as well as the weekly cooking, music lessons and outdoor visits to local gardens. I loved being able to access his learning and development through the regularly updated parent portal. I am so pleased we made the choice for Paint Pots. My younger son will be heading there too.

This is the happiest, most nurturing nursery I have come across. The staff are so caring and dedicated, helping to bring out the child's personal identity and a love of learning, empathy towards others and their imagination.
I feel privileged to have been able to send my daughter to such an amazing
nursery.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.0 (8.039) out of 10 for Paint Pots Montessori School The Grove is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.1 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.917 for Paint Pots Montessori School The Grove is calculated as follows: ( (11 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 4.917
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.122 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Paint Pots Montessori School The Grove is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 41 number of registered child places is 8.2. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.2 = 0.122
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
