Montessori by Busy Bees Green Gables is the oldest Montessori school having been established in October 1989. It currently caters for eighty children aged three months to six years, 51 weeks of the year, 7:30am – 6pm.

The specifically designed nursery comprises a large baby room, one toddler room, one transition room and a pre-school room. Children also have the added advantage of a large 9000 sq ft garden.

Offering a Montessori programme, Montessori by Busy Bees Green Gables teaches Spanish, Song & Move which further enhances the children’s curriculum.

The nursery has been a very supportive place for my son, who is trilingual, and so found it challenging at the beginning. His English has come along greatly and he enjoys the nursery. The staff are very friendly and helpful, my emails get responded to very quickly and any queries are resolved as quickly.
The management is very responsible and kept us up to date during the lockdown, their hygiene standards are high and the manager works extra hard to ensure all issues are attended to promptly. The large garden facility has been resurfaced recently, it is a good large space. Overall, I have felt that my son is comfortable and safe at the nursery and I would definitely recommend it.

My daughter has been at this nursery since she was 8 months old. She loves going here and we are really happy with the attention and competence of the staff. We also love the huge garden and the fact that the children spend a lot of time outdoors.

My two children currently attending this nursery, the nursery has a great rapport with parents. The management and staff go above and beyond to make the children happy, and children have lots of confidence and independence. The management team is always finding ways to strive to make the nursery even
better, and they communicate with parents regularly. The nursery has a very large outdoor area that the children have so much fun in. I am always kept up to date on a daily basis via the nursery app. I would recommend this nursery to all my family and friends if you want your children to be happy this is the nursery to send them to.

From our first visit to the nursery, I didn't doubt that it was the right one! First of all, the rooms are quite spacious and so is the outdoor play area. Second, the team provides all the necessary support to parents, communication with them is very fast and efficient. On the part of the teachers,
you can see that they love their work because of the way they take care of your child and especially because of the joy that my daughter feels when she sees them. They have an app that keeps me informed about the progress and the day to day of my daughter. I definitely recommend it!

My daughter has attended this nursery for 9 months since she was 18 months old. It has been a great source of comfort and stimulation for her. We love the staff and management who have always been incredibly attentive of our needs and supportive of both our daughter and us. They keep us very well informed
of all changes and updates by daily notifications on the app and by email.

Our daughter started at the nursery when she was 6 months old and has been there 4 months now and has been thriving and loving it. Despite covid restrictions the nursery staff have been accomodating and helpful at every point, giving frequent photos and updates through the app, at the nursery door and
been swift to respond to any questions on email. The play and learn areas are great and constantly updated and the large outdoor area is amazing for sunny days. They've been very helpful with transitioning our little one to solids and always treat her as an individual. Nursery manager is efficient, friendly and always helpful.

It’s a great nursery with really helpful and friendly staff. They have a massive garden and my twin boys love attending. There is a daily update online so you can see what they have been up to and comment as well as regular email updates so you are in the loop at all times. All the staff are very friendly
and professional and assisted me with potty training and happy to cater to our needs in general. The meals are healthy and nutritious and it’s great for the children to sit and eat together. My boys went in shy and timid screaming and now are very happy to go in and enjoy their very interactive day. Highly recommended.

My son has been attending this nursery for the last 4 months. He has settled well and he enjoys his time there. The staff are really kind and professional. I know that he is in good hands and he is learning new things every day. It's such a pleasure to pick him up and see him smile. I absolutely love
the parent app, with updates throughout the day and a short report at the end of the day.

This is a great nursery. Our daughter has been going since she was 7 months (she is now 15) and she loves it. She has learnt so much, she is making great progress every day, learning to be more and more independent. The staff is great, really caring, and accommodating. They are doing many activities,
always varying them and encouraging the children to explore new things. They also have a lovely big garden and children go out quite a bit. They have a great app where you can see the child's daily schedule (what and when they eat, nappy changes, naps, daily pictures and snapshot description of the day and my personal favourite every month you get an observation on the child's progress and ideas on how to further encourage development). We are very happy with our choice and would strongly recommend this nursery to any parents looking in the area.

My son has been attending the nursery since October. Like any child, it took him a while to settle but the staff were really amazing and helpful during his transition. My son's Key Worker and the Manger have gone above and beyond to help my son with his development. We are awaiting an assessment for
mild autism and when I informed the nursery they took immediate action to implement structures and activities to help him such as a visual and Now and Next Board, and also have done a speech therapy referral as he is not talking he will be 3 next month. I can not express how thankful I am for all their help and would 1000% recommend Green Gables Nursery. My son loves attending and runs in without looking back. Upon joining my son was nervous around other children and now he is happy to be alongside them and has made friends. His social skills have come along really well, based on my experience I have decided to keep him there for preschool. My son's happiness means the world to me and that he is!

My daughter attends this nursery and has done since she was 6 months. The management and staff team are friendly, supportive, and professional. My daughter has always enjoyed going and is learning to be so independent she is now 3 years old. They have an app which you can view daily with a highlight
of the child's day with a photo, and also this gives learning feedback as well with things to do with your child at home. The management team are very supportive and send out regular emails of update.

This is a friendly nursery, led well by the director and her deputy in her absence.
My daughter has been here for almost two years and I have no concerns. I trust the team at the nursery and my daughter enjoys going to nursery every day.
I would definitely recommend it to other parents looking for

I am very satisfied overall with my child’s nursery. It’s been two years that we have chosen this Montessori nursery and school. The staff is lovely, qualified and caring. Their standards are high for hygiene, the food menu has got variety and a great selection for balanced meals. Their response and

Green Gables is a brilliant nursery. The staff are super helpful and very friendly. Our son adores them all. They have a big garden which was one of the aspects that shone out to us to join.

Both our children have attended this nursery (since 2017) and we have had a brilliant experience with the staff and setting. The team are kind, patient, very warm yet professional and create a really fun and supportive environment for our children. There's an amazing big garden which is such a nice

Rather neutral as there are some pros, but also cons;
Pros: garden for children to play outside, logistics (local railway station 3min by foot), Montessori concept.
Cons: very high churn - there is no stable primary contact person for the child; (driving the rating on staff below) nursery management
appears sometimes chaotic (took them a year or so before they got my contact details correctly in their system, communication of who is primary care person typically with delay; we know of good staff who left because of issues with Management); they take +4 weeks off (2 summer, 2 winter), so you effectively pay 12 months but only get 11 months of service. Not sure anymore though, how many staff are trained/certified given the high churn.

I enrolled my son at this nursery as I had many friends give me positive feedback about how amazing the nursery was. My child started in April of this year and I withdrew my child in May due to many reasons. Please don't make the same mistake I did as what used to be amazing isn't any more in my humble
opinion. After one month I still hadn't met my child's allocated key person and I even had to provide my child's own photo for his coat peg and still, this was not displayed. No welcome pack as requested, I completed no paperwork on my son, nobody even asked me any questions, and my child has additional needs, English is a second language and he found it very difficult to communicate yet not one person at the time sat down with me to discuss these as promised. Not even the basic steps completed. Lots of recent staff changes, friends who still attend due to commitment have said there is a lack of communication, lack of leadership.

There has been a rapid decline in recent months, lack of communication totally my child's keyworker has not been on site for one month with no communication of where she is and who has taken over, surely you would think this would have been addressed by the management. Emails are not responded to for
weeks sometimes and general organisation of the setting is not good. Recently had some cases of threadworm in the nursery but when checking no wonder as there is no soap for the children to wash hands with, this was raised with the manager on site but still not addressed. The children's toilets are not of a clean standard. Would like to say this decline is of very recently, I have had my other child in the nursery for over 3 years and was a good experience up until a few months back. Lots of changes in management recently so hence maybe the cause of this.

Rezwana Islam

Job Title: Centre Director

I have been working in childcare for over 12 years, working my way up from being an apprentice to now managing nurseries. I am a qualified Level 3 in childcare and hold a Business and Management qualification Level 5. 


Working with children is a passion and I thrive on supporting them develop through learning and play. I have twin boys who are currently attending Montessori by Busy Bees and I am confident it is the best environment for them to grow and develop new skills. 


I thoroughly enjoy supporting and mentoring staff to provide children with exceptional childcare on a daily basis, and I believe parent partnerships is key to working with children.
