I couldn't be happier with my daughter's experience at this nursery. She has really enjoyed her time there and I have watched her confidence grow tremendously. I really liked the app where we received updates and photos, I was also impressed with the grounds and the learning set up. The teachers were all very professional yet kind and caring. I couldn't speak highly enough of the principal and I am extremely grateful that my daughter got to experience and grow in such a wonderful environment
Thank you so much for taking the time to provide feedback; it means a lot. We will miss you both and wish your daughter all the very best as she starts primary school. Please do keep in touch and let us know how she gets on! With my very best wishes Jo
My daughter has just completed her pre school year at Burghwood. From the start we were very impressed with the structure and expectations set for the children. My daughter was very proud to put on her nursery uniform and take her book bag in each day. The range of experiences Burghwood provides, within a structured and highly nurturing environment, have been fantastic. My daughter has loved the mix of more formal classroom learning via the Montessori approach, with outdoor, exploratory learning and trips into the community. The staff are dedicated and have high aspirations. My daughter has made many friends who she will journey onto "big school" with and has thoroughly enjoyed her Burghwood experience.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. We aim to always strive to compliment the environment with our Montessori ethos whilst also adhering to the Early Years Framework and with Forest School and our trips to the local Care Home as part of our curriculum we feel this provides the...
Our son has had a truly wonderful year at Burgh Wood Montessori. The care, warmth, and dedication of the entire team have been exceptional. We've seen such positive growth-his confidence, independence, and love for learning have all flourished during his time here. The nurturing environment and thoughtful approach to each child's development have made a lasting impact. We're incredibly grateful for the support and kindness shown to our family, especially as we now prepare for a big move abroad. The skills and values gained here will stay with him for life. A heartfelt thank you to everyone at Burgh Wood Montessori-you've given our child the best possible start.
Thank you so much for your kind words and taking the time to write a review. It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of your son's journey and he has had an amazing year with us. We will miss you all and if I find myself in your part of the world, will be sure to come and visit. Best wishes to you all, Jo.
We had our daughter at another local nursery before and ended up being deeply unhappy. We spoke with Jo (the principal) who assured us that Burgh Wood would take proper care of our daughter, which they have and more. We could not have been happier with the nursery. The staff are all experienced childcare providers, most with families of their own. This is the standout feature of Burgh Wood; the staff all take care of the children as if they are their own family. The nursery is filled with so much love and happiness. I Our daughter has grown and learnt so much since joining. She bounces into school happy every single morning without fail.
I cannot thank the principal and her team enough for taking such good care of our daughter. She will miss the teachers of Burgh Wood dearly.
If I could give a 10 star review I would!
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review and for your kind words. It has been both a privilege and pleasure to have your daughter at Burgh Wood and I have so enjoyed seeing her flourish over the last 2 1/2 years into the confident and independent child she is today. We will miss her enormously, especially her singing! She will thrive at primary school and please do keep in touch!
The manager and her team are absolutely exceptional and I could not speak more highly of our experience at Burgh Wood. Our son has had such an enriching time. He has explored creative, outdoor and academic pursuits and will start "big school" with a strong understanding of the world around him, and with the ability to write his name, count to 50 and so much more. The manager runs a tight ship and we have really valued her attention to detail, regular communication and updates, whilst also prioritising the needs of the children. By far the best nursery in the area!!
Thank you much for taking the time to leave a review and for your kind words. As you know, we strive to create a nurturing but also enriching environment with our Forest School sessions and our visits to Banstead Manor Care Home, high on the agenda! The Montessori element of our school provides...
We will be sending our second child there for sure. The teachers are all amazing and I just wanted to say thank you so much for all the care and effort with our precious boy. You have played a huge part in how he has blossomed from a shy timid toddler to a confident, happy and attentive boy.
Wish you all the best! Have a lovely summer holiday.
Thank you so much for your kind words and it has been an absolute pleasure and privilege to have your son with us; I will miss him very much but know he is absolutely ready for 'big' school. We look forward to his little brother next year! Have a wonderful summer. Best wishes.
Fantastic nursery. My son, who had never been in an early years setting, settled so quickly and loves all of the staff. I really feel the team are setting him up for starting school next year. I can't thank the team enough.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review and for your kind words. Best wishes.
Such an amazing environment inside and out for learning, being creative and exploring.
Our daughter has flourished being at Burgh Wood and has given her a great head start to her life at primary school. We will certainly miss the Burgh Wood family.
Thank you so much for your lovely review; we have absolutely loved having her at Burgh Wood and miss her too. I hope she is having the best time at 'big school'. Best wishes, Jo.
My son really enjoys going to Burgh Wood Montessori Nursery School, this is down to the professional team including a dedicated manager, giving him opportunities and support to develop in all areas. My son had a fantastic first year and he is thriving. The feedback and communication I receive from nursery are exceptional, from dairy updates, observations raised and from his end-of-term report. I am really looking forward to my son's next year at this nursery school.
Thank you so much for your taking the time to leave a review and for your kind words. So pleased to read the feedback and he certainly has settled well into his second year and really enjoying the Montessori activities. Best wishes, Jo.
All staff provide such outstanding care for little ones. I am enjoying having such a pleasant experience and the communication is second to none amongst such friendly and caring staff! I have never experienced such a valuable, fantastic service like Burgh Wood.
Safeguarding is of utmost importance and I feel confident my little one is safe and happy.
I am so pleased I chose this preschool for my little one amongst numerous others may I add and can’t wait to see him blossom and grow. I have already seen an improvement in his communication and confidence and he seems to be thriving! Thank you so much to the manager and all the staff, I look forward to this exciting journey together.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to leave a review. The team and I are thrilled your son has settled so well and at each session, he grows in confidence! He is absolutely delightful! Best wishes.
This nursery setting offers great flexibility for working parents whilst also providing a safe, enjoyable and positive environment for children's learning and development. Our daughter has blossomed during her time here, loving every minute and has made great friends.
The nursery has fully prepared our daughter to start school in September and has supported her whilst becoming a big sister during her time here. We really can't thank them enough and whilst we're sad to be moving on, we look forward to returning with our second daughter once she turns 2.
Thank you so much for your review and your kind words. It has been an absolute pleasure to have your daughter at the school and so happy you chose Burgh Wood Montessori. We will miss her very much at Burgh Wood but look forward to seeing you in a couple of years! Best wishes, Jo.
I am so pleased to have found this nursery. My son settled in so quickly & looks forward to going every day. His key worker and the other nursery staff are always so smiley & welcoming to him and I really feel there's a nurturing, loving environment here with lots of stimulating activities. Would recommend this nursery to all & thank you for all your hard work with the children.
Thank you so much for your kind words and it is a joy to have him in the school.
My 2 year old son started Burgh Wood in August. After 2.5 years at home with me. Myself and my partner were nervous about him starting this new journey. I had seen a quite a number of nurseries and none were 100% to our liking. Burgh Wood was the last on my list to visit and I was not disappointed. As soon as we walked in, it just felt right. The nursery was newly decorated, modern, clean and airy. One thing that really struck me was how calm the nursery was. The principal shows so such much pride and care for her nursery and it really does show in the children and exceptional staff. I have felt so relaxed and reassured leaving my son. The staff are so gentle and kind, always welcoming my son with such warmth. As a Covid baby, he has really come out of his shell and is very social. The nursery provide hot meals, which my son absolutely loves. The home visit was exceptional and gave my son a familiar face on his first day. The nursery is diverse, which was so important to us.
Thank you so much for your kind words, they mean such a lot. Your son is always happy at the school and always brings a smile to all of us! We look forward to seeing him thrive even more at Burgh Wood Montessori. Best wishes.
My daughter started in March 2022 when she turned 2 years old. Great and friendly staff, I feel happy with her attending where I know she is safe and doing loads of activities. I am now looking to increase her sessions. I would highly recommend the nursery to prospective parents.
Thank you so much for your lovely review and it is a joy to have her in the school.
My son was quite shy so we were a bit worried about him starting pre-school. However, all the staff at Burgh Wood Montessori Nursery School were so friendly and supportive from the start, always taking the time to listen to any concerns we had and then ensuring they put any appropriate actions into place. They would also always ensure we had any feedback we needed. We are very happy with Burgh Wood Montessori and my son loves it there. The new school building is amazing with a huge garden and lots for the children to do. We don't have a bad word to say and would definitely recommend!
Thank you so much for your kind words. We certainly enjoy having him with us and are so pleased he is enjoying his time at Burgh Wood Montessori.
I would like to say a big thank you for giving us the opportunity for my daughter, and a couple of years later, our son, to join Burgh Wood Montessori Nursery where they could explore and develop their skills in their own individual way. It took some time to find a nursery school for my daughter, but after speaking to the owner of the nursery, we knew that our daughter would be happy at Burgh Wood Montessori. The team at the school have done an amazing job settling in our daughter and two years after our son, particularly helping them to develop their English (as Polish is their first language) and also preparing them for primary school. The team made them feel safe and happy like at home and even better as they could do many “messy” things that we parents are not always are happy to do at home! They both loved going there. Thank you to all the Montessori staff!
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and for your kind words.
I have had two children attend Burgh Wood Montessori over the past five years, my youngest graduated in September 2021. Throughout that time we have had nothing but a positive experience. Burgh Wood staff are kind caring and highly qualified. The forest school sessions were a favourite for both of mine. Burgh Wood staff fully prepared my children to transition into reception with no worries at all and they both still talk about their memories there fondly. It was the best decision we made to send our boys there and would highly recommend Burgh Wood Montessori.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this review and for all your support over the past five years. So happy the children are doing well and we have fond memories of them too.
As a family, we were sad that our journey at Burgh Wood ended (apparently there is a requirement to start primary school – much to my daughter’s disappointment) but love that we remain part of the wider alumni family! I would highly recommend this setting to anyone looking to give their children the best head start in their education in a warm, friendly, caring and supportive environment!
Thank you for taking the time to send a review of the school which is much appreciated. We miss you all very much and hope your child is enjoying big school!

I have worked in early years for around 20 years and honestly couldn’t think of anything thing else I would rather do. I love watching children develop and grow knowing that I played a part in helping that development. I did leave Early Years for 3 years to help my best friend in her coffee house but really missed being with the children so I returned!! I have an amazing family, my partner, 1 daughter, 2 boys and 2 dogs so most of my free time is spent running around after everyone or helping out in the coffee house.

Early Years Level 3 Qualification
I am married with 2 grown-up girls now in their 20s! how time flies…
I worked in the bank for 10 years then left the banking world to stay home and raise our family. Once my girls went to school, I found an interest in child development and wanted to delve further. I completed my Diploma in preschool practice and started working as a practitioner in a Montessori preschool, I found the Montessori method fascinating and so rewarding to see the children gain so much independence and important life skills at such a young age, which will stay with them forever.
After a year I took over as Manager and stayed there for 13 years. I have also had some experience working in Children's Centres and in a nursery within a private school. I am now pleased to be back in a Montessori setting.
My hobbies include anything creative, party decorating, organising and spending time at the beach.
