Day Nurseries Owned by St Margarets Nursery Ltd

The nursery is absolutely brilliant with an exceptional team where each staff member genuinely cares about every child. The level of attention and dedication shown by the whole Team is outstanding - our little ones are thriving day by day. I found it very difficult to return to work after maternity leave, but knowing your children are in good hands - from the very first settle session - in a welcoming, nurturing, organised and safe environment truly means the world. We are incredibly grateful for everything they do and cannot recommend this nursery highly enough!

Our son has been at St Margaret's for two years and the staff are amazing. He comes home glowing and exhausted every night after having so much fun and he's learning so much. We can't recommend this nursery highly enough!

The nursery setting is spacious, clean and welcoming. The food is great too, and we have been especially impressed by the care shown towards children with dietary requirements.

Our little one started two months ago and settled very quickly. She is absolutely loving it and is happy going in! The staff are very thoughtful and supportive and they follow the child's lead are very responsive. The nursery is very clean and they pay a lot of attention to nutrition and wellbeing of the children. As parents we feel heard, well informed and involved in the decisions about our child.

Our two little girls have been attending St Margarets Nursery since they were about ten or eleven months old, and they have had an absolutely wonderful time! They are growing so well and becoming more confident each day. They love going to nursery, have made great friends, and are very happy with the staff.

St Margaret's Nursery at Craiglockhart has a warm and caring team, and our child enjoys their time there. The staff are friendly and clearly committed to the children's wellbeing and development.

There are a couple of areas where the nursery could perhaps be enhanced. The outdoor play area is fitted with artificial grass, which may not be everyone's preferred surface for a nursery environment.

The nursery also does not currently offer council-funded places for children aged 3 and over. Hopefully this is something the management team can secure in the future, as it would be a welcome addition for many families.

Overall, we have had a positive experience and appreciate the care and support provided by the staff.

What I appreciate most about the nursery is the staff. They are always warm, enthusiastic and welcoming. My child is always excited and keen to go to nursery, which gives me great confidence that she is happy and well cared for.

We have been so happy with the nursery since our baby started at 11 months. The settling process was thorough with lots of communication with us. The staff have been so attentive and caring to make sure she settled in quickly and has continued to thrive. It has been great to get detailed updates on her development areas. The staff create a lovely calm atmosphere in the nursery and our daughter has loved all the opportunities for creative messy play as well as enjoying the excellent garden facilities. The meals provided are varied and healthy. The warmth and enthusiasm of the staff have been the real highlight for us and it has been great to see our daughter happy in the setting when we have attended stay and plays. I can't recommend this nursery highly enough!

The only area for improvement is the lack of funding for children aged 3 and over, as the nursery currently only offers tax free childcare scheme. Aside from this, we have been pleased with our experience so far.

Overall, we are very happy with the nursery and especially grateful to the staff who look after and support our son.

We have been very impressed with the St Margaret's team from the get go. They are kind, professional and wonderful with the kids. They listened to our first-time parent concerns and made an extra effort to support our little one with areas they were slower to develop in. Our little one loves going, especially the food, and is thriving. We have had an excellent experience so far.

Excellent staff, facilities and environment. Always so good at keeping us informed of our son's development and they've played massive part in his overall growth since joining. Couldn't speak highly enough of St Margarets Craiglockhart.

My little one started here when he turned one. He settled in really quickly throughout the settle days and was ready to go to full days the following week. Leaving your child at nursery for the first time is very daunting but I knew he was in good hands which made me feel much better. There were days he didn't want to leave as he was having so much fun.

The nursery has great staff who are kind, caring and I've found they really encourage his individual interests alongside group activities.

The nursery has a lovely inviting setting and they are very welcoming to have you visit to do a stay and play. Food options are varied and gives the kids opportunities to try different things.

Would highly recommend St Margarets Craiglockhart.

We have had such a positive experience sending our son to St Margaret's Nursery. We love knowing our son is being so well looked after by such lovely early years practitioners. He goes in each day ready for a new adventure. We are so proud of how well he has developed and truly belive the nursery staff have helped him walk, talk, wave and eat well.

We love to see and hear what our son has been doing via the famly app and can see big changes in his eating habits since going to St Margaret's. Eating healthy berries at home now as well as nursery, teaching him how to feed himself finger food and now even cutlery.

All the staff give us wonderful updates daily on how our son's day has been and are always very positive and helpful for all the questions we have as parents.

It's such a big deal leaving your child with non- family members daily but it really has felt like our son has settled in so well with the staff in his room almost like family.

Thank you all so much!

St Margaret's Nursery & Pre-school is fantastic! Our son has attended the nursery since January 2025 and loves it! We originally chose the nursery for its excellent extracurricular activities, facilities, and outdoor space, and we are very happy with all of these. The children spend time outdoors every day. The staff members are fantastic. They really go the extra mile, facilitating engaging activities for the children, and the care is excellent. We are also very happy with the food, which is organic and prepared by the nursery chef. The menu is varied and designed together with an NHS nutritionist. They now also offer dinner, which is great! We are also delighted with how many friends our son has made in the nursery. He is absolutely beaming when he tells us about his day after nursery.

The food is cooked by their own nursery chef and kitchen team and Caspar eats far more variety there than he does at home. The whole nursery is so well organised. Huge thanks to Aishah, Amy, Claire and the rest of the team!! We would highly, highly recommend St. Margaret's.

We get fantastic regular updates via a mobile app, so feel connected to the boys on what they have been doing all day. The activities are really well planned and help with their development. It's night and day between other nurseries we have seen, I am so glad we were able to secure a place for my 2 boys.

We have had a really positive experience from the day our eldest daughter first started at St Margarets. The staff go the extra mile, they are so personable and engaging and the detailed reports we receive for both of our girls at the end of each day reassure us that they receive the very best care and attention. The daily picture and video updates via the app are excellent too and keep us informed of the diverse range of activities they partake in. A great nursery in a lovely setting - thanks so much for looking after our girls so well.

The children both love it there and have formed great bonds with the excellent staff and also created some amazing friendships with their peers. We have seen amazing progress in their development thanks to the teaching and care at the nursery. The facilities are excellent with a wide range of activities and access to a wonderful outside area. There is also great communication with end-of-the-day catch-ups and online blogs. I would highly recommend St Margarets.

This is a great, well-organised nursery with fantastic staff who are very professional, but also very caring of the children in each room. There is good food service, lots of activities, and the teachers pay special attention to creating a friendly and welcoming environment.
