Our son has attended UTW since he was 11 months old (in preschool now) and we have been so grateful for the experience.mThe staff really care for the kids and he runs in every morning to tell them and his friends his updates. There is very little staff turnover and he has built a strong relationship with all the key people. The Montessori ethos is woven through teaching and has made a huge difference to our son. We have regular opportunities for feedback and discussion in the parent teaching meetings and the staff are always available for a chat. Weekly visits to forest school are a great addition though missed at times due to weather. Overall and amazing experience and we'll be sad to leave next year when our son goes to big school.

Our daughter has been attending UTW since she was about 10 mths old. She has absolutely loved it from her first day and is now heading into the pre-school room in September. The staff are fantastic and with the many languages spoken, our daughter has been exposed to different cultures, countries and languages which has been brilliant.

There are plenty of activities on offer, such as baking, football, music and trips to the park, forest school and local museums. The nursery also offers other social activities such as meeting with a dog who regularly comes into to see the children so they know how to be safe around dogs, as well as meeting more exotic animals such as spiders and snakes when an animal handling workshop came into visit.

Our daughter has a severe egg allergy and the staff have been great at the management plan we have in place for her and responding quickly if there are any incidents.

We have been so happy to be part of the UTW community!

My twins have attended UTW since they were ~18 months old; my older child attended from 8 months. The nursery is professionally run, clean and tidy with healthy homecooked meals and has an app for regular communication and photos to see the kids enjoying themselves. Staff are caring and friendly - many of the team have been there for a long time. The mix of activities the kids get up to is great, and the focus on learning the world around them through play, songs and daily activities is lovely; trips to Forest school will always be a favourite. The nursery team are supportive with educational needs and ready and able to offer advice when needed. It's a lovely place, with nice outside space too.

One of the most (if not THE most) rewarding parenting decisions we've been able to make. We were lucky to hear about School Outdoors from a parent whose older daughter's confidence my wife saw when in the playground one day and asked where she went to nursery.

Where to start? The staff and management are so dutiful and caring, they genuinely make our daughter feel extremely secure and loved. There has also been minimal staff turnover (certainly no drama) and they deserve huge respect for their skill and dedication to everything required to deliver outdoor education every day whatever the weather.

Our daughter has developed and become noticeably more independent and confident. She can need a bit of a chill on the weekends after a full week at Forest school but that is great (selfishly) in that we don't have a bundle of energy busting to get to the playground first thing. We would highly recommend the benefits of the full 5 days per week and have signed our infant son up too!

A very special nursery - truly excellent staff who are caring, dedicated, positive and thoughtful. Fosters independence in our child alongside a comforting structure and community. Only area we would like to see change is a more accessible route to the site in autumn and winter for grandparents to help with pick ups.

I enrolled my daughter at Under the Willow having been impressed by the reivews and thought it looked nice on the tour. However, when I attended the first settling in hour in the baby room, I found the baby room to have hardly any toys. I understand a lack of toys may be a Monetessori ethos thing but alongside this I found that the staff did not interact with the babies in thier play. The staff seemed over stretched and disconnected from the children. There was one slide in the outdoor area that was closed off. When my daughter showed an interest in it - the slide was opened up but I ended up helping out with keeping the babies safe on it. The other staff members did not help. It was very concerning to me that staff were like this while a parent was present as I wondered what it was like when they were unobserved. There was also an incident where it appeared to me that a crying child was pacified using one of the staff ipads. I would not reccomend this nursery for under 2s

Our little man has been attending Under the Willow since I finished my maternity leave last January. Handing over our precious child to anyone can be extremely daunting, especially for first-time parents. The three-day settling-in sessions were ideal for us, as we needed to work. Many other places seemed to stretch the settling-in period over two two-week spans, which was not feasible for us.
From the moment you walk through the gates, you are greeted by warm, smiling faces who embrace your child as if they were their own. My biggest worry was whether he would be comforted and cuddled if he became upset. Suffice it to say, he has received all the love and care we hoped for.

The team has a great understanding of child development, and they engage the children in incredible activities. My little boy loves going to nursery and sometimes even refuses to leave. I can breathe easy knowing he is in kind, nurturing hands with Marta leading the team! We highly recommend this nursery!

Our daughter started at Forest School in August and is thriving. She loves all the staff and they have taken her independent nature in their stride. She didn't have a single issue settling in and looks forward to going every day. The nursery are really supportive about ensuring you have the right kit which is a great help.
We were particularly happy with the insightful comments about our daughter at the parent/teacher meeting which showed how well her key worker has gotten to know her.
The days have been so full for her, she has never come home overstimulated or overtired but has added a good 30 mins to her wake up time since starting!

Thanks to all the staff for their care and hard work.

We have sent all three of our children to this nursery and have a really great relationship with the staff and the setting.

Our youngest is currently in the pre-school room and has extra needs. The staff are always so inclusive and really delight in seeing him progress. He always comes out happy after each day and I am reassured in the day with updates and photos through the app. The food is freshly prepared on site, visits are made to forest school regularly and the garden has a lovely atmosphere with many activities for the children. Indoor learning is fun and informative. My son loves to come home with his baking and artwork to show us. We highly recommend this nursery to any new parent!

We've been so happy with our experience at Under the Willow. The staff at this nursery are incredibly caring, with very low turnover, which makes a big difference. The range of activities they offer is amazing - always fun, creative, and often things I'd never think to try at home. The staff truly go the extra mile to make everything feel special, not just for the children but for the parents too, with thoughtful touches like handmade cards for Mother's Day that create lasting memories. The food is freshly prepared on site every day, which gives us real peace of mind. The outdoor space is fantastic, with everything a child could wish for - sandpit, slides, swings, even a little botanical garden. We're constantly impressed by how much effort the staff put in and how much our child learns and grows while having so much fun.

Joining the School Outdoors as soon as my toddler turned 2 was the best decision ever! He is so happy there, which is obvious at drop-off and pick-up.
This setting is just perfect, from joyful and loving staff to nutritious food and brilliant forest school principles.
I've seen our little one blossom and thrive since joining. It is a unique opportunity, especially in a big city.
We can see how the children are getting way more in terms of education, learning valuable skills on top of all the things required by the regular Early Years Foundation Framework. On top of that, the staff is incredibly helpful, providing continuity with whatever we do at home. We started toilet training a week ago now, and the School Outdoors has been extremely supportive.

Long story short, this place is great. If we have any more children, we won't hesitate to send them to the School Outdoors. If anything, we wish our little one would never have to leave!

*A truly magical place for little ones to grow*
My daughter started forest school when she was just two, and the transformation we've seen has been incredible. The child-led approach is so creative and thoughtful, it has allowed her to grow in confidence, curiosity, and independence in a natural and joyful way.
The environment is nurturing, warm and genuinely caring. The staff are not only passionate about what they do, but they're also genuinely interested in each child. They're always happy, welcoming and ready to engage. If I ever need help or have questions, they've been nothing short of brilliant.
And for anyone wondering, "Don't the children get cold?". It's not the cold you need to think about, it's the wet! Invest in the proper kit (Didrikson's/POP technical gear) and your child will thrive outdoors in all weathers. As the saying goes, there's no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing.

We feel incredibly lucky to be part of this community.

This has been our third nursery for our daughter and by far the best. The site itself is magical and our daughter loves the outdoors but for us, the staff is what has makes it so great. They seem to attract very well qualified and passionate staff, they are all very knowledgeable, patient and excellent with pre-schoolers. In the year that we have been here, there has been no staff changes (apart from maternity cover). We feel that they have really got to know our daughter and supported her development. She loves all of them, which wasn't the case at previous places.

School Outdoors Dulwich has been such a fantastic experience for our son and for us as a family. He is so much more confident since being here, has learnt an appreciation for nature and the outdoors and even picked up some cycling skills! The staff are friendly and nurturing, good communicators and seem to have wonderfully creative ideas to capture the children's imagination. I would thoroughly recommend this to any parent.

Nothing but praise for Under the Willow!
The nursery has been like a home away from home for my son, who's been there from 1yr right through to pre-school before moving onto big school.
My son has flourished under the care of the Under The Willow. He is leaving to start school as a confident, inquisitive, kind and empathetic boy who has a thirst for learning and exploring - and the team have played a huge part in shaping the wonderful person he has grown to be over the last 4yrs.
The entire team (management and all teachers) have also gone above and beyond to offer support to me as a parent. Their care extends beyond the child and they build a brilliant and supportive relationship with the whole family.

It's been a total pleasure to have Under The Willow be such a positive and lasting part of my son's early years education and we will miss them all dearly.

Between our two boys, we have been coming to the nursery for 5 years now, both of them started in the baby room at under a year old and have stayed in the preschool room. It has been a lovely nurturing environment for them to grow up in, and having some of the key members of staff there for the entirety has been key in making them feel safe and secure. We have been really pleased with their development and the way their confidence has grown, the communication from the staff has been good and the extra activities of forest school, football, baking and trips to the park have been great. They have also made some wonderful friends which helped our eldest transition well into school and I hope will be the same for our youngest in September. We would definitely recommend our experience to others.

I was very happy when I got a space at School Outdoors for my son. I really wanted him to have the opportunity to connect with nature and spend as much time outside as possible before he starts school and has to follow a more structured education. I think School Outdoors offers a unique opportunity for a child born in a city. I love that the kids there need to use their imagination to find toys or build them from sticks. They are able to enjoy an 'analogue' childhood, where camaraderie and teamwork are key and freedom of thought is encouraged.
The staff are very kind and know each child and their needs well. It is a lot like a summer camp that lasts all year round (although without the weather!). The bonfire pancakes and hot chocolate will surely remain a fond memory forever.

My son attended for 3 days a week and I am very sad his adventure with the Forrest School is now over. In the era of screens and social media, it is a great alternative for our kids.

The best nursery experience we have ever had as a family. The daily communication and photos from the staff to the parents are brilliant and my son, who is quite clingy, settled easily and now runs in every morning to say hello to everyone. The food is great and they have the perfect balance of learning, exploring and socialising. I honestly could go on and on about how incredible this nursery is! The teachers are experienced and clearly enjoy their work and spending time with the children.

I've been thoroughly impressed with my daughter's experience at the outdoor nursery, especially during the summer months. The setting is perfect for children to explore and learn in the sunshine, surrounded by nature. The variety of activities keeps them engaged and continuously learning in a fun and dynamic way. The staff are exceptional - professional, warm, and genuinely passionate about their roles, which really enhances the children's experience. A highlight was the beautifully organised graduation ceremony for the children leaving in September. It was a touching and memorable event that celebrated their achievements in such a special way. As a parent, I appreciate the nursery's openness and the quality of interactions the staff have with both the children and parents. I highly recommend this nursery for anyone looking for a nurturing and vibrant outdoor learning environment for their child.

Our son joined School Outdoors last year a couple of months after his second birthday, and has absolutely loved it. We were a little nervous about how the winter would go, but it was absolutely fine with the school providing a very clear list on the clothing needed, and once the kids are wrapped up they really enjoy the ability to be outside and play in the mud and rain and to enjoy the sunshine when it does come! Getting involved with such a wide variety of activities such as chopping wood, making fires for cooking on, understanding nature and helping to grow vegetables has helped him to learn a much wider range of skills (as well as the traditional learning of letters/numbers etc.), and he is very proud of telling us what he has been doing at the end of every day. The teachers are excellent, and keep us updated on our son's day via an app with lots of photos. His confidence has really grown over the time he has been there, and we are very pleased with our choice of nursery.
