Our son recently departed First Steps Nursery at Furness Vale for primary school, and the care he received there was second-to-none. He has come a very long way since starting there at 18 months old, and the staff were wonderfully understanding of both his needs and our needs as parents. I highly and wholeheartedly recommend First Steps Nursery to anyone living in the general vicinity of Furness Vale.

We also had some brief interaction with the New Mills branch and they were similarly exemplary. We can't thank them enough.

A lovely nursery with a fantastic outdoor space. Very approachable and caring staff. The older the children are, the more outdoor fun is available to them.

My child has been going here for over 3 years and is soon to be going to school. I've always felt he's being well looked after, having fun, learning, and safe. The older kids performed a Xmas play last year and we were all really proud to see how hard they'd worked. The start and finish times can be built around your schedule, and they've always been there if I've needed to book an extra day. The kids are well fed with lots of varied and nice freshly cooked meals. We've been very happy here.

Excellent nursery. Every member of staff knows my child very well. Her allergies, her favourite things. Her sense of humour - everything. My little one comes home with a new word, skill, song, etc every week. She thrives there and most importantly I trust the staff as much as close family members.

If you're a family who value fun, exploration, and lots of messy play. First Steps in an ideal nursery for you. We have seen our baby flourish into a confident toddler with a lust for learning and a love of the outdoors. Thank you to all of the staff who have worked with her so far - you've done a tremendous job!

Both of my children absolutely love attending First Steps Nursery. Every single member of the staff is so warm and friendly and I feel like they genuinely love what they do. I honestly can't thank them enough! The outdoor paddock is a fabulous asset and I love that the toddlers are out there in most weather conditions enjoying the outdoors, playing in the mud kitchen, broadening their imaginations and getting some fresh air. I would highly recommend this nursery!

My son has been going to this nursery for 7 months and he's absolutely enjoying it. The staff are very friendly and careful. I am very thankful.

The whole team is absolutely awesome with the kids. They take all the time needed for induction, carrying a baby in their arms for hours to build a bond and get them settled. 2nd child will go there too! They have lots of different outside play areas with a lot of nature.

My daughter has been attending First Steps Nursery since she was 11 months old and she is now leaving for school at 4-years-old. She has been so happy here and has developed into a kind, adventurous and smart little girl. I can honestly say First steps Nursery has a lot to do with it. I love their ethos and I have been able to trust them with my little girl. My little boy is also attending here and I wouldn't have it any other way.

My girls have loved attending this nursery for over 3 years. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and my children have formed good bonds with them. The environment is engaging and interesting and the activities challenging yet enjoyable. The outdoor space is outstanding. I would recommend this nursery to anyone looking for an excellent forest nursery.

My eldest went to First Steps Nursery and after moving house, we put my youngest in a different nursery. After a few months, we realised First Steps was worth the extra travel so now my youngest goes there too!

My child shined at this nursery and always talked highly of the staff at home, they worked with me brilliantly and I felt like I could go to them about any worry I had regarding him. He loved it and will greatly miss it.

This is a fantastic nursery. My son has had a lovely few years here and has grown in confidence like I never expected. The owner and all the staff are fantastic, so caring towards the children, I cannot recommend enough.

First Steps always goes above and beyond, my child loves the paddock, it's fun. Staff are always kind and thoughtful.

Fabulous staff - lovely with the children and very caring. Great site with lots of outside space. Managers are very hardworking and flexible.

First Steps Nursery (New Mills) is a fabulous nursery. All of the staff are enthusiastic and happy and make it obvious that they care about their work, the children and upholding First Steps values. They have created a warm, happy, safe and fun learning environment. I have always felt that both of my children have benefitted massively from the positive relationships they have built whilst at First Steps, which has helped them to become confident, independent, kind, thoughtful and emotionally secure. Which is exactly why I have always felt good about leaving my children with them - they are in great hands.

My daughter loves nursery. The fact that she is outside most of the day is the main reason that I love it too. The staff are friendly and helpful and are always on hand to chat and discuss anything. Really happy parent.

First Steps is a fantastic nursery. My son has absolutely benefitted from going here. The staff are supportive and caring and encourage the children to express themselves through play. They encourage creativity and are well attuned to children's individual development in a way that allows for the teaching of appropriate skills as well as having fun.
