We have been deeply disappointed with the experience at this nursery. The management appears disorganised, unprofessional, and unfriendly, which unfortunately extends to interactions with both parents and children. Communication is poor - for instance, our child's key worker was relocated without any
notice or explanation. This lack of transparency, combined with a high staff turnover, has created a real lack of consistency and continuity in our child's care.
The condition of the outdoor areas is also a serious concern. The gardens are dated and poorly maintained, with broken items left near doorways - posing a clear safety hazard for curious children. The doorbells are non-functional, and overall, the setting feels neglected and stale, particularly when it comes to the learning and play equipment provided.
Children deserve a clean, professional, and safe environment to explore and grow. Sadly, this nursery does not currently meet those expectations. Urgent improvements are needed.

At The Little School by the Lake, we prioritise the safety, wellbeing, and respectful treatment of all children, families, and staff. As outlined in our contract, the nursery reserves the right to end a placement if behaviours—whether from a child or a parent—cause significant distress or impact to the welfare of others in the setting. In this instance, the decision to end the placement was made in line with that policy.
While we do not agree with the points raised, we regularly review our practices and always strive to maintain high standards of care, communication, and safety.
