Our children attended between May 23-Aug 26. Our eldest starts school in Sept, so we wanted our youngest closer to his school. Moving a 2yo isn't ideal, but our experience made the decision straightforward. Some staff are caring, kind & creative, and we valued the commitment to outdoor play, rain or shine. However, staff turnover has been high and our experience of staffing was mixed. Our main concerns were safeguarding. Our eldest was left unattended for ~7 mins after a missed headcount/sign-in error. He was found crying for help, remained upset about it, and we weren't informed for several hours. We also experienced a serious allegation that a staff member shook our daughter. This was only ever an allegation, with no corroborating evidence; police investigated but nobody was charged. There was no CCTV at all at the time, which added significantly to the stress. CCTV has since been installed. Premises were also problematic: severe winter condensation, closures during heatwave etc.

We are proud of our large garden, nutritious freshly prepared meals and experienced team, with 25% of our staff having worked at Pooh Corner for more than seven years. We remain committed to providing a safe, caring and stimulating environment for every child.
