Our child wakes up in the morning and asks if they can go to nursery today.
I try not take it personally as they have so much fun there, love the staff, the activities and the multiple areas to play in, they are well looked after and thrive there, it's always a joy hearing about their day and
seeing how much he learns each week. The staff are considerate and attentive to them as well as our wants/needs. Not once have I ever felt something was lacking or not being addressed or given due care by the Staff at Partou Barnwood, both from staff and their management.
The only reason I don't give top marks on safeguarding was that Partou head office management (Read: not Barnwood management, Stacey and Millie are the best!) haven't been able to answer all our questions regarding Partou policies and procedures and we instead needed to rely on assurances from Ofsted.

Our daughter joined Partou in September 2025. Since day 1 she has loved her nursery days. Partou has helped tremendously with her speech and friendships as well as honing in on new skills. I have particularly noticed a shift in structure since November and all of the team have been so kind and
attentive. It has helped pave the way for school with plenty of time to learn even more day by day. She has always come home happy, chatty and confident. We can't wait to see what she has learns next. A huge praise to all of the team, to whom I am so thankful for her happiness on going!!

Our little girl has been attending the setting for over 6 months now and we have been thoroughly impressed. The settling in process was flawless and helped for a smooth transition into nursery. The homely feel atmosphere is what attracted us to the nursery along with the friendly and welcoming
staff. Since joining the setting we receive regular updates around our little girls day and she partakes in a range of activities to promote her development. The children frequently go outside and each room has its own garden which means that they are not limited on how much time is spent outside. There are consistent staff members at the setting which allows for the children to build relationships with staff members and staff are as invested in the children as the parents. Every milestone our little girl has made since starting nursery has been celebrated and recognised by staff. I have never had any concerns around the care my little girl receives, she is very happy at nursery.

Our family's experience at Barnwood Partou has been nothing short of exceptional. The nursery offers an incredible range of facilities, engaging activities, and meaningful learning opportunities for our daughter. Most importantly, the staff are friendly, dedicated, and truly invested in our
children's well-being.
What really sets Barnwood Partou apart is its ability to retain such wonderful staff. This consistency has made a huge difference for our daughter, who knows every team member by name and is always excited to head into nursery each morning.
When we learned that there was a change in leadership, we were naturally a little apprehensive about whether the same positive ethos would continue. We're thrilled to say that Sue has stepped into the role seamlessly and has been absolutely fantastic.
A huge thank you, you're all brilliant. We truly couldn't be happier, and more importantly, neither could our child.

I am absolutely thrilled that we chose Partou Barnwood Day Nursery , our girl has learnt so many new skills and has brought her along with ease, she is now a confident little lady. She has good manners and gets on well with other children. The facilities look great and meet our child's needs daily.
The care the colleagues have for our child show genuine affection and care at all times, they role model great behaviours. Thank you for your support with our girl.

My son & daughter attend Partou Barnwood and both love it. My son attended a nursery previously and I'm so glad I moved him to Partou. The staff are great. We are kept well informed of what our children have been doing whilst at nursery and both of our children have learnt so much. Highly recommend

My child has been at Partou Barnwood for over a year. He's been really happy to arrive in the morning and reluctant to leave when we pick him up. He's able to experience messy play, dance, music and socialisation in a way we just can't do at home.

A wonderful nursery with lovely staff!
My children have attended the nursery for over 4 years with my eldest now thriving at primary school, thanks to the wonderful start he had at Partou Barnwood Day Nursery & Preschool. They have always gone in the door happy and come home talking about the
great day they've had. The nursery has fantastic facilities and the staff work hard to setup lovely activities for the children. They have built strong bonds with their key workers and supporting staff and I can go to work knowing they are extremely well cared for. I honestly can't speak highly enough of this nursery. Thank you to all the amazing staff that work so hard here every day. We love it!

Since my daughter started at Partou Barnwood Day Nursery & Preschool in September 2024 we have not had any issues with the nursery. They're informative and keep me updated throughout the day using the ParentZone app. My daughter has thrived going to nursery. Her speech and language have improved
massively and her social skills are growing by the day. I cannot fault Partou Barnwood and I would recommend this nursery to anyone.

My son absolutely loves Chestnuts. He's been coming 3/4 days a week since 5 months old and has developed so much since starting. I'd highly recommend it to any parent!

When pregnant I had booked into another nursery, not knowing what really to look for in a nursery. Upon my child's birth, I didn't think that nursery would be the right fit for him. Now he has started Chestnuts and has been there for 3 months. He loves it. He was a very clingy child so I was nervous
about how he would cope without me 4 days a week. He jumps for joy at the door every morning and is so happy to see his teachers.
They are so supportive, and knowledgeable to help with routines, naps etc. which is invaluable. I could not recommend this nursery enough.
The rooms are decorated really nicely. The baby room has lots of lovely wooden toys, and most toys are accessible to the children to help themselves to.
My son has improved drastically since being there. Learning how to feed himself his meals. They also have a very varied menu so I can be assured he is trying new things all the time. There is a very home-from-home atmosphere and you feel connected by updates regularly on the app.

My son started in December, and I was very apprehensive about sending him to nursery, as any first-time mum would be. The girls at Chesnuts made me feel so reassured that my son would be in the best hands.
Only two months in, and he's settled in so well, progressing every day. I love hearing about
his day and seeing the photos that they take of him. My only criticism would be more photos!

We moved to Chestnuts in the spring, after our previous nursery closed unexpectedly. They were fabulous and really looked after my little boy, who struggled initially with the change.
The staff in the 1-2 room have been excellent and we get detailed handovers and good online records. I feel
confident that all of the staff know my son well and there is a lot of joy and affection in the nursery environment.
The only downside is the car park, which is tight on space and nerve wracking at busy times. Thank you Chestnuts!

My son is really enjoying his time in Chestnuts. He gets along with everyone. He is learning every day. You guys are doing a great job. Keep up the great work. If there was any criticism it would be that sometimes the wait at the front door is lengthy.

My son has been attending here for two and half years. There has been a lot of change, but now there is stable management and less staff turnover (which I think happens at lots of nurseries) things are so much better. He enjoys every day he goes and is very happy. Staff have been very supportive of
behaviour management and helping my son deal with emotions. I can always get hold of the manager (or a deputy) and she is very happy to meet face to face. Lovely to see a manager 'on the shop floor' who knows the children by name and they know her. He loves all the staff and always comes home tired after a day of fun and learning!

Our daughter has been at Chestnuts since she was 11 months old and is now in preschool. We chose Chestnuts originally as it was an independent family-run business. They were great through Covid, but then shortly after were taken over by Just Childcare and there was a great deal of change in
management and staff, which upset my daughter and she struggled going in for a few months (not like her) and we did consider moving her. However, since then, things have calmed down, and things are becoming more consistent. The staff are fab, they really seem to care for the children, great activities, and for parents to go along to (sports day, Mother's Day, afternoon tea etc.) My daughter enjoys the food, and we are glad we stayed with them. One downside is there aren't many App updates which were previously very regular and were a selling point for the nursery originally.

The team at Chestnuts is great, we have been through a big period of change and multiple staff changes but the manager has led this change well and come out positive on the back of it. The next step is to continue the consistency for the children. My children have loved their time there, we have
seen them grow and progress and be ready for reception class. The manager has brought in some great elements to allow us to see the progression of our children such as the stay and plays, sports day and graduation of preschool.

My family is thankful and we appreciate a lot every effort and patience and care from every member of staff to our son. The atmosphere is amazing, friendly, well organised, all the staff smile and always ready to help. It is a big fun for kids, I can see the development of my child, his English
skills (English is his second language) also other skills like he started to dress himself, he feels confident and always very happy at the end of the day. He has learned a lot.

On the whole, our experience at Chestnuts Barnwood Day Nursery has been a good one. With the pandemic, take over and subsequent staff churn, it proved to be a tricky time for all involved. Recently, I have found that some of the staff a bit standoffish and will only engage if it suits them.
Handovers are so helpful and when things are on the app it's lovely to see what my child has been up to. However, the app entries are still hit-and-miss.
Now we have a new manager, things inside the nursery are changing for the better, lots of improvements and procedures put in place that we've been asking for, for a long time. My child is really happy at the nursery and had made many friends. Thank you everyone for looking out for my child, it means the world.
