View Full Details of Partou Stockwood Lane Day Nursery & Pre-SchoolA great nursery with lovely attentive, caring and enthusiastic staff who really get to know the children. The facilities are great - good outside play areas and lots of varied activities inside - and it's located off a quiet road. Paige and the team have done a great job over the past year. Would recommend.
We have had 2 children attend Stockwood Lane (one still there) and despite there having been a few issues over the last few years this last few months we feel they've really turned a corner and we are now super happy that our son has a place there. There is now good consistency of staff, much better parent communication and our son is very very happy with his key worker Madi. Paige & Carla always have tike to listen to any queries and they are a very friendly and welcoming team!
My daughter has been going to this nursery from the age of 1 (she is now nearly 4), she absolutely loves it and has made some great friendships. Although she loves it, the nursery does struggle with communication, they have an app which is meant to be updated throughout the day that will give parents updates however, this is rarely updated and unless I ask what she has eaten I wouldn't know. The nursery did make a real improvement at one point following ofsted inspections however, I do feel they are starting to slip back into old ways with their communication which is a shame. They have had real issues with staffing & as a result there are lots of new staff, i haven't been properly introduced to them and am unaware of their names unless I ask my daughter. My daughter however loves it here and has reached all her development milestones whilst attending the nursery and the staff are always polite and super friendly. My LG has her favourite key worker and looks forward to seeing her!
The whole team at Curious Hedgehogs are wonderful! They really care for my little girl, and she absolutely loves attending the pre-school. She even gets a beautiful hairstyle every day! 100% recommend!
Our daughter absolutely loves going to nursery and seems to have so much fun during the day there. You always worry that your child might not be happy or might not enjoy their time at nursery but we can tell from the way she talks about her days there that she's having the best time.
My child has been attending the nursery part-time for just over a month in the baby room. We have had a good experience. I have had regular updates and good communication from the manager and the baby room lead, both by phone and through an app. The staff all seem experienced and have bonded with my child well. They are kind and affectionate and do their best to help children settle. The children eat very well throughout the day, with lots of variety and inclusion of organic dairy products. It may just be luck but my daughter has not become unwell since starting, unlike lots of my friends' children who seem to be constantly bringing home illnesses from other nurseries, though I do think staff experience, hygiene and lots of time spent outdoors all play a part too. There are thoughtful touches throughout the nursery - from family photos for children to look at during the day, to a bowl of refreshments at reception for parents to help themselves to.
I have two children at the nursery - one in the baby room and one in pre-school. Both really enjoy attending and my eldest daughter has been supported well with her development. There have been a lot of staff changes recently which did impact consistency, particularly in the pre-school room as several experienced staff left around the same time , but it seems to have settled and my daughter has built good relationships with new staff members. The shortening of hours (currently 8am-5pm) has made it challenging for us due to work commitments but we are hopeful this may change due to more consistent staffing levels. Communication has improved although it is still inconsistent. The use of the app to record daily food, sleep etc. is intermittent but we are receiving more pictures and updates about our children's learning. Our children attend term time only but we appreciate being able to book extra sessions in the school holidays and being able to add one-off extra days as needed.
My daughter has been attending Stockwood Lane Day Nursery for over a year now and has loved her time here, taking very little time to settle which I credit to the caring and friendly staff. My top priorities, which I'm sure many parents share, are that she is happy and safe and I never had any concerns otherwise. Although I would say that communication over how the day is spent is somewhat lacking and there wasn't enough information shared regarding progression from the baby to toddler room and how that would happen. I know management have been working hard to solve staffing issues and once progress is made here it would be lovely to have more touch points (father's/mother's day, summer party etc) which would provide an informal way to see how they interact with staff, other children and their environment. That said, my child has thrived over the time she has been at the nursery and is excited to go in on her 'baby university' days and my youngest will be joining this summer.
My eldest child (6) attended this nursery and my 2.5 year old currently attends. Admittedly a few years ago the nursery had some issues whilst they were trying to solve staffing problems (which as far as I'm aware is an issue across many nurseries) however we have had no issues since three members of staff have been running the nursery. You can tell they care greatly about the running of the nursery and ensuring it is a safe, happy and engaging environment and they have implemented several positive changes. My 2.5 year old really enjoys going to nursery, there are lots of activities to help his development, he eats well, sleeps well, has made friendships with fellow children and developed strong bonds with the nursery workers, who now know him very well.
My daughter has been in attendance since 2022 from the age of 10 months and the care she has received has been very good. She is happy to attend she is developing well. The nursery has issues with their communications, in the preschool room the only updates we tend to receive are meal logs. Hand overs are brief if they happen at all and it is not clear if activities are structured or targeted to children's needs. Any progress that was made after implementation to obtain good ofsted rating have since regressed. There have been staffing issues with the loss of many long standing members. This is a real shame and I don't know the names of most of the staff in my child's room. That being said, the bonds my daughter has made with some team members has been fantastic. Her attitude in attendance and progress physically, emotionally and academically has been great. If this weren't the case, I would have withdrawn her due to the staffing, communication and management.
My child has been at the nursery since 2023 and is thriving there. Since extending the amount he attends, his communication and language skills have improved as well as his social development and empathy. He is genuinely excited to go to "school" and is full of smiles and stories once collected. The staffing has changed a lot since he started however this does not appear to have impacted on the level of care or activities provided.
My almost 2 year old son has been here for 6months currently and loves it, my son is very sensitive and does get attached to one person very easily, the nursery has been amazing with this, taking time to settle him, he has become so much more confident and now loves going, big smiles when we get to the door, we are slowing transitioning him to the next room up, which his key worker is amazing with dealing with at this overwhelming time. The staff are so friendly, professional and welcoming. I love the app, which gives you info on your child's day, with pictures sometimes which makes my day! In Squirrels (baby room) the separate sleep area is amazing, when viewing nursery's I just loved this, so cosy. I love all the added security here too, I feel safe leaving my child here. There was some issues with staff shortages but we have always been kept up to date with what's going on and what us as parents would prefer with methods of keeping things running smoothly.
Amazing nursery, such friendly staff and my girls absolutely love going. Always willing to help with questions I have and such a nice nursery too. The space, toys and care from staff are brilliant too.
Our child started attending this nursery when he was 13 months and he is now on his last year before moving to reception. Overall he has been thriving during his time there, staff is caring and approachable, kids have access to a wide range of activities and a well equipped outside space. The nursery uses an app to update families on meals and sometimes you get pics of what they have done. There have been some issues with staff, which meant amended opening hours, lack of continuity of care and no trips/ activities outside the setting itself. Hopefully they'll improve shortly.
My daughter started in April 2024 just as she turned one. She's my first child, so I'd say I was a "normal" level of anxious (!) She settled in so much quicker than I was expecting, and from the start it has been the bubbly, positive energy of her key worker that has filled me and my daughter with confidence. Every day I am told what shes been up to, what she enjoyed or didn't enjoy so much, what shes eaten, any troubles, always in a conversational, natural way that makes you feel confident and relaxed. Most days I turn up and my daughter and key worker are in the middle of a game, especially if its sunny outside and they're making the most of it. If she's unwell, the first remedy is undivided attention and cuddles, exactly what a toddler needs. I was fearful about my daughter moving up rooms, but already a couple of settling in sessions have again made it feel natural. She will for sure miss her key worker, but I suspect they will still share a laugh over the fence in the garden!
Our daughter is 18 months and has been attending since she was 1. She had trouble settling in but the staff were really helpful. They are incredibly warm and kind, and help the little ones follow their curiosity and develop. Would recommend! Only downside is issues with the app.
Our son has been with the Nursery since 2021 now in his final year and our daughter in her first year from 2024. The Nursery has improved massively since 2021. Our children are always happy going in which is great barometer of whether they are happy to attend. Staff are great with our children and have forged really strong relationships. There is really nice blend of indoor and outdoor space/activities in each of the rooms. Whilst we have children in different rooms we love the fact that at times they will spend some time together which has helped our youngest become more confident and our eldest naturally take on really caring role for the younger sibling. We're really pleased with the level of care provided and would recommend the nursery to any one thinking of this setting in future.
My daughter has been at the nursery for just over a year. From day one, I have been exceptionally impressed with her level of care. Whilst she was in Squirrels, the staff were adaptive and attentive to meet her needs, as she initially struggled to settle. Since being in Rabbits, she has continued to thrive. Her speech has come on amazingly, each time I pick her up she has a smile on her face and I don't have any anxiety about leaving her with staff members. They genuinely seem to care about her, and it's a pleasure to see her bonds with the staff members strengthen. I fully trust the adults in her room to look after her and I know she's having a fabulous day. Even though we now live twenty minutes away, I still want her to attend Stockwood Lane as she's thriving there. There have been inconsistencies with staffing, but I can see that these situations have been out of the staff members control. The only thing I would love more of are updates/pics/moments to see how she's getting on!
We have been with partou nursery in Stockwood since June 2024. My son has settled in really well and gets on well with the other children and staff. The room has lots of toys and things to do for the children and I like that the napping room is separate. They seem to do lots of different activities and it's nice to have the recent progression reviews on the portal. The main issue we had last year was the room closures for the baby room. This led to us having to wait at the door until 8am so the ratio was correct before they could accept my son, or we had to go home and return at 10am. The change of hours has stopped all room closures so this was a positive change introduced while they recruit. There has been good communication and updates via email too. My son is really thriving at partou, he's always happy to go to nursery in the morning and he loves getting outside to play. Overall we are very happy at partou.
My son loves his time at this nursery! The staff have been amazing and understand that its a huge adaptation for any child yet they are patient and willing to learn any extra support your child needs to ensure they have a smooth transition. My son has blossomed since being here twice a week and is always excited to go to nursery and see everyone. I Couldnt wish for a better environment for my child to spend time in. If i had to comment on something that could be improved on (as small as it is) its the storage room for the prams.. its far too cramped and sometimes my mum/nan find it hard lugging my sons pram off of the chairs stacked in there! The nursery has come a long way in the past 12 months and i wouldnt put my son here if i thought he wasnt getting the right support. Thank you to the amazing team!
