My daughter has been at First Steps Day Nursery since she was one and a half during the first part of COVID and she has just recently left. She has loved nursery and the staff are fantastic, they do such a good job and her confidence has grown so much since starting. They do a wide range of activities and encourage all the children. They have a lovely outdoor area. Good range of food and menu choices. She will miss nursery but she’s ready for school now and that’s thanks to nursery.

We’ve been very happy with the nursery overall. My daughter has enjoyed her time there and I would definitely recommend the nursery to other parents. There is lots of outside space and the staff are caring and informative.

Both of my children have attended First Steps from 10 months old, and I have always been happy with the care that was provided. In each room, the staff have been caring and supportive of the children and have helped them to develop confidence. The setting has a lovely outdoor space and is in a lovely location for local walks. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

My little boy was at First Steps for a year and developed so much. First steps prepared him for school which made the transition easy for him. The staff are very kind and professional, always there to give any information or answer questions have. I feel very satisfied and happy bringing both of my children to this nursery. I leave always satisfied and without worry, as I know my children will be well taken care of while they're with the staff at the nursery. I'm thankful that I chose this nursery for my children.

We absolutely love First Steps. My eldest had the most wonderful start and was so prepared for starting school. My little one loves coming to nursery and always comes home full of excitement about what they have been doing. Great observations and communication by the staff. Thank you for all of your hard work!

What a lovely little nursery First Steps Maxey is. Both my boys have attended and loved it. With its rural setting, the children get to go out on walks and visit the local park, as well as a whole host of craft and educational activities. My oldest is now 11 and I feel it's a real credit to the nursery that some of the original staff are still there now with my youngest 8 years later! The staff are all very friendly and well loved by the children. There are routines in place and the children seem to thrive because of this. It's a big thumbs up from me.

My daughter started school this year after previously being at First Steps from the age of 1. She changed dramatically in the time she was at the nursery and she learnt such a great deal in the time she was there. It literally broke my heart when she had to stop going there (as she was too old). The staff there are absolutely incredible. It took her a little while to settle in when she first started going but once she was settled she really looked forward to going every day and I never even got a goodbye when she walked in the door every morning. This is all down to the staff and the care that they gave her every day. I cannot praise the staff enough there and thank them so much for turning my daughter into a confident little girl for when she started school.

Our daughter loved her time at First Steps. The staff are always kind, compassionate and fun! We loved that they got them outside for village walks. She misses First Steps now she's at school! We have so many keepsakes that she came home with that she had made at the nursery.

We are so thrilled with the quality of care our little boy gets at First Steps. He has been there since September and settled in so quickly, in no small part due to how warm and affectionate all of the staff are. Every time we drop him off and pick him up it's so apparent they really engage with the children on an individual level, and it's lovely to hear what he has been up to during the day (and reassuring to know that they pick up on the same learnings, behaviours and quirks that we do at home!) Our whole experience with First Steps has been during the pandemic and they have handled it incredibly well, communicating with us throughout and keeping us updated. I still feel like we've managed to get to know the staff despite all of the restrictions. We would happily recommend First Steps to anyone looking for a reassuringly caring nursery setting for their child. Staff go above and beyond to support us as working parents and their flexibility is so appreciated.

My little one has been at First Steps for just over a year now and is thriving! The baby room was so lovely and despite everything that happened in 2020 she settled right back in after the first lockdown. The girls in the baby room are so good with the little ones giving them the comfort they need as well as providing them with lots of fun! Now my little one has moved up to the toddler room and is again having the best time. The outdoor space they have to explore is fab and she comes home every day with more and more new words and experiences!

First Steps was the first and only nursery that myself and my partner looked at for our son. Having our son start nursery during Covid lockdown was an anxious time for us but we couldn’t be happier. Our son (now 15 months old) settled very quickly and has a smile on his face at the start and end of the day. Communication with the staff is great and the children engage in so many wonderful activities. It really is a lovely, family focussed nursery. The staff are an absolute credit to the nursery. I’ve already recommended this nursery to a few people. Thank you for your hard work.

Excellent nursery over every aspect. My son started when he was only 7 months old and the nursery staff has been incredibly supportive in the settling process. He is now 2 years old and he loves going to First Steps Nursery. During these challenging times over the Covid 19 pandemic the nursery’s management was great in guaranteeing the safety and wellbeing of our children. I often recommend First Steps Nursery to family and friends for its great quality in delivering childcare in a beautiful environment.

I’m so glad we choose to send our daughter to First Steps. It’s amazing! She only started in September and within a week it was like she had been going there forever. It’s without a doubt my daughter's favourite place - I barely get a wave goodbye when I drop her off. The staff in the baby room are fantastic - so welcoming, knowledgeable and are going above and beyond in these strange times. Our daughter has grown up and learnt so much since she’s been there. I feel completely confident that she is in the most capable hands and that she will have the best time engaging in so many different activities. Thank you for making my daughter (and me) so happy. I would highly recommend First Steps to any parents!

Sending your precious baby to nursery is a nerve-wracking time for any parent, choosing a nursery feels so tricky but we are so pleased we chose First Steps Nursery. The combination of the incredible staff and the rural setting has been wonderful for our little boy. The staff are so kind, caring and nurturing of all the children. They are responsive to requests we have made re changes to routine and even offered us advice when we have asked for it. They have taken the Covid adaptations seriously and it has continued to feel like a safe and friendly environment. I would recommend them to anyone and am full of appreciation for their hard work.

My son has been attending First Steps since he was 3 months old, I had to return back to work shortly after having him and was very nervous about leaving him. I highly recommend First Steps and all the staff, their support and love for what they do is amazing, we looked at a few nurseries and found this one to be a cut above the rest. It's welcoming, homely and everything I'd want for my son growing up. The range of activities they do with the children inside and outside keeps little ones occupied for hours. Their daily sheets help us see what they have been up to, eaten and slept which is very helpful. During the current climate, the girls are still so upbeat and happy and my child loves it there. We have recently moved out of the area but still choose to drive the extra 30-mile round trip to take him every day before work as I couldn't imagine him anywhere else. So, a massive thank you to you all for helping Baby learn and grow, you're doing an amazing job keep up the good work.

Both of our children have been to First Steps and the care that they have received has been excellent. From the first day to the last all the staff have been friendly and welcoming. Our eldest started First Steps at the age of 8-months and left just before starting primary school. Then our youngest started at 6-months-old and has just left ready to start primary school. We will miss not dropping off the children and wish the nursery every success in the future.

We would thoroughly recommend First Steps to all. Our son has attended from a baby through to leaving for school. If you want swanky facilities and tech then it probably isn’t for you, but what it offers is excellent staff (with great continuity), a nurturing family atmosphere and lots of outdoor time in the local countryside. It’s all about personal relationships at First Steps and every day for 3 years we got meaningful firsthand feedback from staff on how our son had spent his day and we always knew that he was loved whilst there.

My two children have attended the nursery for the last two years, they have been very happy there. The staff have created a safe and happy environment for the children with access to a wonderful garden. The children are very well cared for with all individual needs met and nutritious food cooked on site. I would recommend this nursery highly.

Having to return to work when my daughter was 9months old, the thought of putting her into a nursery filled me with anxiety. After viewing 4 nurseries, some being within walking distance from our home, I found First Steps at Maxey (18-mile round trip) On our first visit, I knew within seconds this was where she would come. The staff are lovely and welcoming, the children are happy, the food variations are great, the setting at the end of the lane is fantastic. I particularly love when they get them all wrapped up for a walk in the fresh air down the lane. She loves to tell me about the animals they have seen that day. I was worried with her being so young that she may not get cuddles (I had heard some nurseries don’t allow this) but I was very wrong, there’s plenty to go around. The day sheet you receive daily telling me what she's been up to is great also. A fab nursery where the staff enjoy being there and don't see it as a means to pay the bills, they genuinely care about the children.

I would highly recommend First Steps Day Nursery, both my girls went from an early age and both were so happy there. The staff are so friendly and brilliant at what they do, we found it was very much home from home. We were always kept informed on what the girls had been doing each day and if ever there were any worries we always had full support from the staff.
