View Full Details of Fennies Raynes Park, Amity GroveOur daughter moved to this nursery three months ago and we are so pleased with it all! She runs in so happily each day, eats such a wide healthy range of foods and has grown so much in her overall development. There's a great feel to the set up- local, professional, and really welcoming!
My son had been here a year and transitioned from the baby room to the toddler. My son would cry coming in, little effort was made by staff in the room to help settle and calm him down, I would have to take over. Management would watch on, not take initiative to comfort or even address my child by his name. My child was unhappy, there is little to no enthusiasm and the same script is given to parents at handover. Errors had been made on the parent app regarding what was eaten, deeply concerning when your child has dietary requirements. These were often only corrected, when challenged. What is extremely concerning, you will not get a weekly detailed observation showing progress, rather you are given a quarterly report (which was late). We receive detailed reports and daily updates now that we moved. I see a big difference in my sons confidence and progress now that I have moved him to another nursery. The garden is well equipped, but the quality of care and teaching is poor in my opinion.
We joined the nursery shortly before the new manager started, we are grateful she joined and has established a strong leadership team with some wonderful ladies. There are some absolutely magical members of staff. There has been significant changes made within the nursery since this leadership was established - very much for the better. Our little one runs in happily each morning and just loves seeing her friends and teachers. She comes home with the most magical stories about finding bugs, painting and pretending to be a doctor or firefighter when she grows up. We found it difficult choosing a nursery as there are many within the area. We love that they welcome our daughter in with a smile each morning and provide a nurturing and supportive environment. The upstairs room can get a little hot over summer but they put procedures in place to help manage that.
We are extremely happy with the care and service of the Raynes Park team - they are friendly, accommodating and great with the kids. The Nursery Practitioner in the baby room is amazing with the children and truly cares, whilst the Management Team manages. everything excellently.
Overall very happy with Fennies and the management. Price is quite high, staff turnover higher than I would ideally like (but getting better) and would be good for more specifics on what child did in the day and a few more pictures. Other than that, my child is happy, facilities are great, it's clean and management always very helpful and friendly. I would recommend.
Both of our children attend this nursery and we couldn't be happier. The staff are warm, professional, and truly care for each child. It's a safe, friendly environment full of positive energy. We feel lucky to have found it and highly recommend it.
I'm truly delighted with the experience my son is having at this nursery. The facilities are excellent - clean, well-equipped, and thoughtfully designed to support children's development and play. The staff are genuinely caring and attentive, and it's clear they bring warmth, patience, and dedication to their work every day. The care provided is exceptional, and I feel reassured knowing my child is in such a nurturing environment. It's wonderful to see how much he is learning through play, exploration, and structured activities. I'm very happy my son is part of this nursery - he is thriving, well looked after, and always comes home with a smile.
Our son has been with the nursery since day 1, and despite countless ups and downs, he has been mostly happy since then. The facilities are ideal for him, and us as parents, and the staff show genuine passion and enthusiasm. A more settled management team of late has made a positive difference. It would be nice to see more front-foot communication in staffing changes within his room, less after the fact.
We love how smooth the boarding process was when our son just started. Also, very grateful for useful advice if we have any questions. Great set up of the nursery and full access to the garden area. Thank you!
My 2 year old has been here since the nursery opened last year - the new manager is fantastic and has ironed out initial opening issues. We decided to stick with the nursery during the recruitment issues mentioned below due to the incredible room leader and other staff in the toddler room - my son is very happy here and enjoys a hugely varied range of activities both indoor and out. The nursery now has a truly family feel with minimal staff turnover.
The nursery has taken some great steps towards improving safety at the nursery with a huge improvement in procedural matters. I think this has given the staff more confidence in working at the location. I have been impressed by the manager and those employed at the nursery to improve the standards but saddened that they (in my humble opinion) did not receive the support earlier. I will admit to having no faith in the strategic management of the nursery group but this does not reflect on the staff based at the nursery. On an individual basis, our child loves going to the nursery and has shown some great signs of development which we can directly attribute to the nursery. There will always be things that can improve and if the small things can be improved then this nursery will have our support for the foreseeable.
We, unfortunately, had to take the hard decision to pull our son out in December 2022 for his own safety. Ofsted inspected Fennies Raynes Park in October 2022 - due to concerns raised to them by parents and deemed it inadequate - the lowest rating possible - because of safeguarding concerns and multiple other issues. Since we were there (March 2022 - Dec 2022) there were a number of concerning issues:- 1. Children turned away at the door - due to staff shortages - on over 20 occasions. 2. Babies room was shut for almost two weeks - due to staffing issues. Parents left with no childcare options. 3. Multiple allegations from parents regarding concerning behaviour of staff towards children. In their communication to parents, management tried to brush serious failures in safeguarding processes as simple communication mishaps. The poor interaction between staff and children as "some staff were acting like deer in the headlights" during the inspection. No accountability taken, not a safe place.
