We couldn't be happier with this nursery! The staff are wonderful, really attentive, and always make learning fun. My daughter is picking up so much and developing new skills every day. The care she receives is exceptional, and the management team is by far the best I've seen since she started
attending. Highly recommend!

I can't thank the team enough for how they look after my 18-month-old and 4-year-old. It's such a nurturing place where you know your children are safe and loved. The staff are the heart of this nursery - they are simply wonderful.
My preschooler is constantly coming home talking about their latest
adventure, whether it's Forest School or a trip out. Management has definitely stepped up recently and the nursery feels like it's in a great place. In terms of childcare and child development, they are top-tier.

We have had the most wonderful experience at Dicky Birds Brighton Road. The staff are warm and nurturing and always willing to help. I love how often my little one is exposed to new activities in his day. They are very child and play led which is very important to me. He loves going to nursery and
that is such a relief for me as a mum.

We are so happy with Dicky Birds Brighton road and would recommend it to anyone living in the local area. Our son has been going since he was 11 months old and is now in the pre school class. The staff and management are incredible and go above and beyond to provide a safe, warm and enriching
experience. My only issue is the lack of garden currently but this is beyond the control of the nursery and they do the best they can to bring the children out and about as much as possible.

My daughter has been going here for the last 16 months. She's always excited to go to nursery and enjoys chatting about her day. They go on regular outings, do messy play, painting and arts and crafts. The nursery have helped tremendously with encouraging her to eat a variety of foods as well as
supporting the development of every day skills.
The staff are kind, caring and approachable. They are always happy to help or chat at pick up and drop off. As it is smaller than other nurseries in the area, we have been able to get to know the other parents as well. Our experience has been excellent and we would recommend the nursery to family and friends and my son is due to start here in the baby room in a few months time.

The nursery is smaller than others in the local area which means it's less chaotic and overwhelming for the children. It also means they rely on core staff rather than agency - a huge plus in my opinion. I cannot fault the staff - they are all fantastic. It's a shame that the garden has been out of
use for a year - that's not the fault of the nursery but it's not ideal. The nursery charges top up fees and so I generally have some questions regarding value for money - i.e for enrichment and hygiene charges - but the fees are set by head office, not the branch - and I believe that's a general issue across all nurseries. The most important thing is the staff - and they are dedicated and caring. When the garden is up and running again this will be a great setting. Julia, the manager, seems to have turned things around too - prior to her joining they had a few managers in quick succession.

My daughter and I love the dicky birds nursery Brighton Road.
We are due to move house and I'm so sad she will be leaving here.
She smiles at all the staff on arrival and we have never had tears at drop off.
They provide great photos and I like the app that they use.
They go out and about
frequently. Do the messy play that I don't do much of at home.
They always have time to chat at drop off and pick up.
They respond quickly when I message them on email or the app.
The staff are kind and supportive for the kids and the parents
We are sad to have to leave.

I have sent two children to this nursery both who have had a positive experience. The staff are nurturing and caring and really genuinely care for your kids. They have always gone on outings but now do lots including Spanish and football at two, plus forest school at three. Both of my daughters have
always enjoyed going to nursery and have been cared for well. As someone with no family nearby the community and friendships my daughters and myself have made through this nursery have been invaluable.

Would highly recommended the Brighton Road nursery to all families. Very friendly and professional staff and management, overall a great nursery that provides a safe and happy environment for the it's children.

We have two children at Dickybirds Brighton Road who have been there since age 1 (now 3.5 and 16 months) and have been really happy with the care throughout. The staff are all so lovely, the children learn and develop so much and the communication on the app has been great. Our children are really
happy and thriving there.

My daughter has attended since 9months old and the staff are so warm and caring. It's felt extremely reassuring to know she is having such a good time there and being so well looked after. Communication is great and they do lots of activities and outings. My daughter always rushes in and is thrilled
to see the staff! Very pleased that she's attending here.

Our daughter started nursery in February at 10.5 months old. After just four days, she stopped crying at drop-off and now sometimes happily launches into carers' arms. The staff are very communicative and always make time to talk. Safeguarding is strong-e.g., the see-through nappy area ensures no
carer is alone with a baby. I've had to wait outside twice due to staff ratios, but only for about 5 minutes, which I didn't mind as it ensures proper care (3:1 ratio). We really like the app for updates; I wish there were more photos, but I'd rather staff focus on care. Overall we are really happy and our little girl seems to be thriving and enjoying herself there.

My daughter loves going to this nursery. It is a kind and caring place which gives her the opportunity to develop, learn, be safe, make friends and have fun.
The nursery communicates regularly with the parents both in a general way and with specific observations. I'll stop everything that I am
doing when I receive a specific observation about something that my daughter has shown.
You feel that the staff genuinely care for all the children, and the way that my daughter walks straight into the nursery each day makes me feel she enjoys being there.

It hasn't been a big trouble to find the right nursery for our daughter to be honest. Early this year we went to see our options and at the end, we just knew that we felt more comfortable when we visited this nursery so we were happy when in September our daughter started.
We saw after 2 weeks
already that she was going to nursery very happy. In the morning she went down towards the door and got her shoes and coat to go out. And she still does it every day, even when she actually doesn't. So it is very important for us to see this as it is already hard leaving your child but when you know that they're happy and they're very well looked after, then is okay. You know they are in the right place.

My daughter settled very well with help of kind staff members. She likes all activities and has a great time in the nursery. Staff is friendly and considerate by responding to our needs. Also there is a nice back garden where my daughter loves to play.
15 August 2024
My children have attended the nursery since 2020. The nursery's real assets are the educators and caregivers in the rooms. In particular, the baby room and preschool room have had such a strong and experienced team. Both my children are hugely attached to their key person which is such a pleasure to
see. The children engage in so many fun activities, water play, fire brigade visits, forest schools, spa days, walks etc. The walks out are slightly less than they used to be, but still more than other local nurseries I believe. Over the last year, there have been changes in management but I think that has been important in terms of supporting the staff. The current setup seems to work very well. Any criticisms I have are directed more at the nursery chain. E.g. high prices for fewer hours compared to competitors, unclear price rises and changes to the menu etc I feel positively about the nursery and my children are flourishing.

I cannot say enough lovely things about the team at the nursery. My daughter has been here for 6 months (since she was 9 months) and I feel so lucky to have found such a wonderful team to take care of her. She loves her varied day (evidenced by the photo updates we receive) but her favourite bit is
the super tasty menu - she has a great appetite now! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dicky Birds as a care option to other new parents.

We sent both our children to Dicky Birds since 2020. They have both loved attending and what I have always valued above everything else is the staff. They genuinely care for the children and their welfare. They pay attention to detail and how to comfort and care for the children. The management are
well connected to the staff and children and know each and every child. My children always ate well and the decision to keep the inhouse chef after parent feedback has worked well. The nursery is physically a smaller space than others, but I valued the fact that the children were taken outside into the real world for walks and outings.

The nursery is overall good. My son is happy which is the most important. I also find the meals to be very good. A couple of issues I experience as a parent is that my son has wee accidents quite often there, whereas at home he has none. So I think there's room for improvement in that area. Also
there have been a few cases of understaffing resulting in not accepting all the kids at the site or waiting till another member of staff comes from another nursery so all the children can be accepted.

Our baby girl has been attending Dicky Birds Day Nursery and Preschool Surbiton, Brighton Road for around 5 months now and shes never been happier. She has learnt so many wonderful things whilst in their care and she has an action-packed day, every day, which is fantastic. The staff clearly care so
much for the kids and I trust she is in very capable hands. There can sometimes be staffing issues, true, but I think this is a reality for a lot of nurseries and you can see they really are trying to be as fair as possible.
Nothing but love for them! Thank you Dicky Birds.
