Acre Wood is phenomenal! The individual care given to each child is second to none. They do a lot of outdoor play which suits my children well. Older children also get a Forrest school day which is fantastic and the knowledge of nature they come home with is fantastic. The staff are so friendly and my children can't wait to attend each week. Management are on the ground so completely understand what's going on in the nursery. They are approachable and will always endeavour to help with anything they can. All meals are provided by an onsite chef whom my children know on first name terms and really enjoy their meals. Allergies are well catered for without any problems. I can't recommend this nursery enough.

Fantastic nursery. The best in the area of Edinburgh by far. I looked at a lot of nurseries as my child needs to go 5 days a week so I wanted to be sure he was in good hands. The staff are amazing and the outdoor approach is healthy, educational and a great experience for my child. He loves going there. My second child already has a place reserved.

Our son has been attending Acre Wood nursery for the past 16 months. We chose the nursery, attracted by the plentiful outdoor space, experienced staff (who work as a team) and the offer of wrap-around care. We have not been disappointed. Our son thoroughly enjoys feeding the resident teacup pigs, guinea pigs and rabbits, helping with the allotment, and (when the weather isn't so clement) learning to read draw and paint. With all this going on it's no bad thing they get rain suits so that clothes aren't ruined on a daily basis. Receiving detailed feedback daily alongside the journals is great for commuter parents with a 9-5 job. Efforts are also made for the parents to get to know one another through garden parties. I have strongly recommended Acre Wood on numerous occasions, both for its family feel and its ability to balance teaching your child to be responsible and empathise with others whilst having fun and - most importantly of all - being a child.
