Colchester Prep & High School Nursery has been absolutely brilliant for my son. He joined when he was 2.5years old after having an accident at another nursery. Karen, Anita and Poppy have gone above and beyond for him from day one, offering support with everything from making sure he eats well and
helping with his speech development. He really loves going there, and has a really lovely bond with all the teachers and support staff who I know really care about him. All the activities and extra work they do on writing and phonics is amazing and I know he'll be confident and happy to start school in September.
The space itself is great, lots of space to run around and great interactive toys and play areas. We had a few choices of where he could go to nursery and I'm so pleased that we chose this nursery, we feel very lucky for the care and development we know he is getting there and know that he is incredibly well looked after and safe.

Both our children have attended Colchester Prep and High School Nursery and we recommend it to everyone we know! Since our eldest started in 2024 we have been so impressed by the care and expertise of the staff in ensuring our girls felt comfortable and supported. We had no hesitation in sending in
our youngest as soon as she turned 2, both girls have thrived here. Compared to other settings we have experienced the staff are all highly experienced and conscientious to ensure that the children are not only cared for, and provided with safe playing and learning environments, but stimulated with excellent learning activities, ranging from dance, PE and outdoor exploration in Forest School, through to Phonics, handwriting and learning languages and culture. Our eldest was extremely well prepared for starting school and still loves to come back to visit the staff. Excellent site and resources. Couldn't be happier!

We couldn't be happier with our experience at Louis' nursery. His dad was Head Boy there in 2018, so when we had a little boy of our own, we knew exactly where we wanted him to go - and the nursery has more than lived up to our expectations.
The care, attention and genuine warmth the staff show
Louis every day is incredible. He is only 2 and the baby of his class, yet he is supported so confidently and thoughtfully. The team have been amazing with potty training, working closely with us and making the process positive and stress-free. His speech has come on so much, and it's been lovely to see his confidence grow.
We also have a little girl, Florence, who is 1 and will be joining when she turns 2. Seeing how well Louis is cared for gives us complete confidence for her too. Our nephew is currently in Year 5 at the school, which really shows what an amazing place this is to grow and learn.
Communication is excellent, the environment is welcoming, and the staff are truly passionate.

The nursery at Colchester Prep & High School is such a gem! The children grow and learn in a brilliant environment with fantastic teaching and care. As they are part of an all through school they also have access to specialist teaching which is incredible.

So happy with the nursery experience my daughter has had while at Colchester high would defiantly recommend .
Teachers build a real report with my little girl and really noticed how much her learning came on as a result of her attending.
Above all else, Gracie really enjoyed herself. It's also
a massive reassurance that we could trust she was safe too.

This nursery is truly exceptional. The staff are incredibly kind natured, experienced and genuinely care about every child's wellbeing and development, from the moment you walk in you can feel how safe, cosy and welcoming the environment is. The staff go above and beyond to create a warm, nurturing
space where children feel happy secure and confident to lean and grow. Communication with parents is excellent. I couldn't recommend this nursery highly enough.

We have had an excellent experience with this nursery. It is calm, organised and nurturing, with staff who clearly know each child well. The curriculum is impressively broad, including PE, forest school, ICT and French, even for toddlers, and it is delivered in a way that feels natural and engaging.
Our child is thriving and the progress we have seen speaks volumes about the team's care and consistency. Communication with parents is clear and reassuring. We would recommend this nursery to families looking for both outstanding care and a rich early learning environment.

From the moment my son and I visited the nursery, it felt like home. The staff are truly exceptional and incredibly caring, and the nursery provides a calm, nurturing environment. My son is always so happy to see his teachers each morning and really looks forward to his day at nursery.
There are so
many wonderful activities for the children. My son especially enjoys PE, ICT/ science experiments. He is being prepared for school extremely well, learning through everything he does in a fun and engaging way. He has been learning phonics/numbers and loves telling us about what he has learned.
The nursery communicates extremely well. Every day there is a detailed update in my son's diary about his day, as well as very thorough updates on his learning/activities on their online portal. Any ad-hoc emails I have sent have been dealt with straight away.
I couldn't be happier with the care, support, and education my son receives here. It is a fantastic nursery, and I would highly recommend it.

I cannot recommend Colchester Prep & High School Nursery highly enough! Our daughter has been enjoying
attending this setting for over two years now, she joined when she was two years old. The nursery manager and her wonderful team are nurturing and very caring - it is a positive, safe and kind
environment which our daughter has really thrived in - we feel she has had the best possible start to her education, thanks to the hard work, dedication and experienced team at CPHS - thank you!

My daughter started at Colchester High School Nursery when she was just two years old, and she has absolutely thrived here. As she prepares to move on to primary school this September, I can confidently say that her time at the nursery has been nothing short of amazing.
The nurturing and
dedicated staff have played a huge role in her development, creating a warm and stimulating environment where she felt safe and happy every day. The learning opportunities provided have helped her grow in confidence, independence, and social skills, all while having so much fun.
I'm incredibly grateful for the care and support she has received, and I highly recommend Colchester High School Nursery to any parent looking for a fantastic early years experience for their child!

Our little boy joined the nursery in September, after his second birthday. We are so happy with it and the way he talks about what he does is phenomenal. He goes in to early morning breakfast club without any issues. We know and trust that all the staff there know him and will look out for him. He
even greets the teachers from the main school and they always smile back. Each day we get feedback in the notebook or through the online portal.
He has made friends, thrived in the small group sizes and gets to learn lessons like French, Computing and Music. He also attends Forest School once a week which he really enjoys. He loves playing in the outdoor space and will tell us what he has been learning or doing each day.
We've watched him grow and develop in the space of 6 months into an even more confident and happy child.
I have recommended the Nursery to many of my friends because we have nothing bad to say.

My kids love their school and have made new friends. They are more confident and expressive which is great. The kids are getting used to eating out and interacting with other kids politely. Definitely keeping them here and recommending to other parents.

Wonderful Nursery! The staff are so well experienced and brilliant at teaching and nurturing the children. My son comes home with positive stories every day which he is always so keen to share with me. Amazing for transitioning into reception and future school progression.

My son is very happy at Colchester Prep and High School Nursery. He loves the teachers and is happy and excited to go into school. His speech and confidence have grown since starting and he loves telling us about the learning he has done. Parents are kept up to date with school life via daily
written communication in learning diaries and with photos and videos online. Thank you for helping my child to feel so happy and confident at school after a negative experience at his first setting!

Excellent nursery with committed and dedicated staff. My son has thrived in the nursery setting. The nursery staff and nursery manager have been very engaged and helped my son find the confidence to come in happy every day.

Our child is currently at the nursery at Colchester Prep and High School and we couldn't be happier. The staff are so kind and caring and our child has grown in confidence since joining the nursery last year. The nursery offer subjects that other nurseries don't and the key workers are so engaged
with the children and clearly love what they do. A wonderful place to send your children!
